Guestbook comments from the owner

fabulous stay and felt like home! we really enjoyed our location: close to the tennis court, swimming pool and playground then the stove and spacious rooms. it's so nice to have the refrigerator and washer/dryer!we were very satisfied with the area and the condo. it was clean and felt like we were at home. the beds were comfortable and the sheets were neat. my inlaws were very impressed and the kids were happy! the neighborhood was quiet but at the same time, the people were very friendly. i can't really think of anything we liked least. it's all best! ok, the best part was it was not too far from everything like the beach, restaurant and other places. it was peaceful. i guess i can say the ultimate best thing: no smoke smell from cigarettes or tobaccos. my child has allergies and asthma so this place was acceptable. the service of the real estates agent, Deborah 'Debbie', was oustanding! she went out of her way to reply to my emails and calls quickly. not to mention, she was very helpful indeed! this is one of the best places i have styaed in lake tahoe!!!!

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

We love the location of the property, right by Tahoe City. It is close to great restaurants (highly recommend Moe's) and plenty of activities. The back patio and BBQ were great and we spent all day outside. The amenities at the property were really fun as well.

The reason I am not able to give the house five stars is because of owner communication and the beds. There were 6 of us so we used all available beds and I'm not sure any of us were able to sleep the whole night through as they were so uncomfortable. The owners, while very sweet and helpful were also difficult to get ahold of. No responses to emails and when they didn't answer I wasn't able to leave a voicemail.

Nice Place. No Troubles. Significantly better than some previous reviews reported

  • 4 of 5

We laughed somewhat nervously at the "ghetto" slur on one review, but the place was very good. I think the fact that this unit is in what looks like a condominium complex may have turned some folks off, but it was a nice little area with nice, quiet folks. The site includes pool and all that is promised, and everything was clean and in good working order.

The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and functional, and there's a little outside deck where we ate breakfast. No troubles at all, and no problems with the place except for a small carpet stain the size of a half-dollar. The place was close to the main road without having noticeable road noise. A vintage Italian restaurant looked like it was right out of the 1940s, though we didn't check that out.

The owner had a comprehensive book with things to do/see and house rules.

All in all, a nice, convenient place to say.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review, glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The old nickname "Ghetto in the Meadow" definitely does not apply now - Lake Forest Glen is now a very popular place to stay . .When you do return - please give us a call and we can suggest our favorite spots to eat - there are SO many:) Thanks for staying with us. I would not recommend staying at this property to anyone. As soon as we opened the door there was an awful musty smell that didn't go away. A hole in the closet door .Trimfalling off of the pull out cutting board. The range hood was greasy and dirty. The bottom drawer of the stove was dirty. A couple of dirty pieces of cutlery in the drawer. The hot water tap didn't work in the main bathroom. So I tried turning on the valver under the sink and the hot water came on but would not shut off. Light bulbs burnt out in the bathroom and outside of the main entrance. And there weren't streetlights so it was pitch dark arriving home at night. The bathroom ceiling was covered in dead blackflies. We wished we had never rented this property and had stayed in a hotel instead. I'm not sure why the cleaning fee for this rental is so high..because it was definitely not in very good shape when we arrived. We loved Lake Tahoe. It is a beautiful place to visit and we would love to return. We would just likely stay in a hotel after that experience. I have friends who have used vbro a few times and have had good experiences. So I may give it another chance, just not at this property.

Nice place and location

  • 4 of 5

It's a very nice place with almost everything you need for a weekend getaway. The house is clean and well organized, close to beaches and other outdoor adventure places. Definitely recommended for both summer and winter skiing trips.
