From the hammock of Casa Allen you have views of the Sierra de Gigante Mountains, the golf course or the tranquil Sea of Cortez. This custom home sits on the 9th hole of Loreto Bay’s newly renovated golf course. The house is a short walk to the beach, about 25 yards.
This is a perfect house for 2 families, sleeping up to 12. The great room accommodates 12 seats at the dining table. Casa Allen has 4 ½ bedrooms and 4 ½ bathrooms. Two master bedrooms with king size beds and 2 large bedrooms each with 2 double beds.
Casa Allen is unique in Loreto Bay because it is the only house with the living space on the second floor. We wanted to take advantage of the views and this house has mountains, golf greens, and sunshine views from the kitchen, dining and living room. The casa is designed with traditional Mexican charm from the colonial era-adobe walls, Saltillo floors, Talavera tiles, copper lights, and wood windows framed with Cantera stone.
The entire house is surrounded by a tall wall and when entering this private space you have beautiful landscaping. The first courtyard has a Talavera fountain, the next has the swimming pool area with a terrace and outdoor kitchen. The back garden has an outdoor shower. This home has the largest amount of grass space in this development.
All bedrooms are on the first floor and are entered through French doors off of the gardens.
The second floor has 2000 square feet of outdoor patios, perfect for entertaining or just lounging and enjoying the views.
This house is one of the first 5 completed custom homes in the renowned LB development. The development is known for its environmentally friendly construction. The ocean here is a protected marine preserve and the sea life thrives. Fishing is outstanding for you and off limits to commercial companies.
We live in Portland Oregon.
However when the kids were in elementary school, 8 years ago we lived in Loreto for a year. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to be. The Mexicans took us in and we had a year of fun in the sun. In a small town friends are made quickly and kids of all ages play together. We were with the other Mexican families everyday playing in the ocean, hiking, BBQ on the beach, or just hanging out in the plaza. Loreto is so safe I never worried about my small kids walking around town, they had more independence there than they did in the states. Loreto is non-touristy with a very casual atmosphere. Loreto Bay homes have beautiful architecture but if you are looking for fancy restaurants, pools, hotels and shopping you won’t find that in Loreto.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
Our house has more open space around it. Other homes feel like they are on top of each other with their neighbors looking in their windows. We also designed this house to accommodate 2 families. There are 2 master bdrms with King beds, two oversized bdrms with 2 double beds in each room. 4 bdrms with 4 private bathrooms.
Our house is the only LB house with the living space upstairs. We are from the NW and light/views are paramount to me. I designed the house to have our dark spaces where we sleep and the social spaces with views.
I highly recommend Casa Allen to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The flight from LAX, Los Angeles was easy and convenient. The uniquely designed and painted home is located in a beautiful development five minutes from Loreto. I enjoyed the numerous pathways that wind through the development surrounded by beautiful desert plants. It was also nice to have a number of bars, eateries, a coffee shop, and the hotel all within a short, pleasant walk.
Casa Allen has a great family layout. The courtyard greets you with a beautiful wall fountain and a number of bedrooms opening onto it. Each room has its own decor with authentic Mexican hand painted tiles. The linens are cool, crisp and clean. The upstairs has a very large family room, kitchen, and spacious dining table for everyone to gather. An upstairs large patio, which looks over the golf course and the mountains is a perfect place to eat, relax ,and watch the stunning sunsets. Though there was paddle boarding, snorkeling and boating available, my favorite time was spent in the small town of Loreto and walking along the Sea of Cortez. By far the highlight of the trip was traveling to the Pacific to see the Gray Whales who had just given birth to their babies. Since my return to California I have not stopped talking about Loreto. I look forward to my return trip. Cheers to Casa Allen!
Wonderful house to round up a wonderful experience. Those pictures does not do justice to this home away from home. Love it.
Casa Allen is a beautiful home with a great mix of indoor and outdoor living space. I loved the private entrances to each bedroom, and that every bedroom had its own en-suite bathroom. The home was perfect for a group - you had your own private space to sleep and get ready for the day, but lots of shared space to hang out with friends.
The development is also beautiful - the sea is a quick stroll away, as is the hotel, wine bar, and a tiny brewery. Everything was really charming and I just loved it! Would definitely go back.
This delightful home, situated within a beautiful, walkable beach community, has all the amenities of a great beach house...on the Sea of Cortez. Communal spaces on the upper floors maximize views and breezes. Attractively walled courtyard to allow for peace & solitude. Cooling pool for midday splash. On-suite bedrooms, located on ground level, feel private even with large groups. What an relaxing oasis. Can't wait to return!
Relaxing and full of amenities without being stuffy. Beautifully kept, but casual enough to feel at home, with everything you need. I'd love to stay again!
My friends and I stayed for a week at Casa Allen and had a wonderful time. The house is beautifully designed and appointed, and I particularly like the bedrooms being on the ground floor and the living spaces upstairs. The bedrooms are so comfortable--each with its own bathroom---and the upstairs rooms and terraces are comfy with great views. The house is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants, including bougainvillea, palms and citrus trees, and is a lush, private, and quiet oasis. You definitely should stay at Casa Allen if you're coming to Loreto Bay.
We walked every afternoon to the beach, where we kayaked and snorkeled. One day we rented a boat downtown to take us out to Coronado Island, where we snorkeled at the marine park, saw dolphins and sea lions, and lounged on a white sandy beach. Another day we drove to the old Spanish mission at San Xavier, which is at the end of a scenic drive up into the mountains west of town. There are good restaurants downtown and at Loreto Bay. You'll have a good time here.
Our house has 2 paddle boards available, 2 bikes, 2 scooters. Outside of our house yoga, and exercises classes are taught under a very large palalpa.
