Fantastic Property at a Super Affordable Rate!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about this property and our experience! My family came together in Mystic for our youngest sister's wedding in May. We needed to find a place to accommodate 7 adults, 2 children and 1 6-month old baby. This place surpassed my entire family's expectations (not an easy feat).

There was so much room, we never felt cramped. The kitchen was nice and big. That was a big selling point, since this is where my family likes to gather. The rooms were large and comfy. My older sister and her family took over the master bedroom, which was perfect as it had the attached sitting room which gave them enough space to spread out. 3.5 bathrooms was AWESOME! We even had an extra bedroom, so my little sister could stay with us the night before her wedding.

This was really the first time in my adult life that my entire family, including the newer additions (i.e. spouses & kids), came together to "live" under one roof. Being able to spend that time with them really made the trip that much more special and memorable.

The surrounding landscape was great as well. We grilled on the BBQ, threw the football in the yard, and ran around with the kids. My little sister even took some of her pre-wedding photos on the grounds.

The owner was fantastic to work with as well. She quickly answered all my questions via email prior to booking the place. She was very accommodating on our check in day, as getting 10 people from all over the country together at a specific time is rather difficult. She was very clear and detail oriented when she took us through the house. And she was always responsive if I had any questions or needed anything. But once we checked in, she gave us our space to make ourselves at home.

This is my first VRBO-type experience and it was phenomenal. This place is great for a large group. If my family ever finds ourselves coming back to the area, we'll definitely stay here again!

Owner's Response: I feel so fortunate to own this beautiful house. I work hard to maintain it and keep it up to expectations. I’m always grateful when the people who rent it appreciate it as much as I do, and it is a joy to share it with them. Families from all over the world have gathered in it and the house enjoys the good vibes they all leave behind – thank you!

A Wonderful Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

My Family and I were fortunate to spend our Siblings & Dad Weekend at this Gracious Home!

Yes, the weather was September Perfect but this Lovely, Spacious Home added so Much to our Enjoyment!

The Owner is very Helpful and Great to work with! We found the Home, upon arrival, Clean and everything in working order.

This Wonderful Home has plenty of room to spread out or to be together! The Bedroom & Bathroom on the first floor are very helpful!

We spent most of our time out on the deck overlooking the spacious grounds! It is Lovely! However, some of the family enjoyed Bike Rides around Stonington and some enjoyed the sights in Mystic! Some of us also ventured over to Ender's Island! You will Never run out of things to do!

But returning to this welcoming Home is the Best! This older Home speaks to you to "Slow Down" and enjoy each other's company and the Beautiful surroundings! We hope to return and enjoy this Lovely Home again!

A GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful house! I stayed here in August. We were lucky and had beautiful and the weather the whole time. Not only is the house beautiful, it is comfortable too. I always felt at ease in the house. When we gathered for meals, it was a wonderful experience to gather around the dining room table with everyone. No one ever felt cramped and the dining room is so elegant you feel like you are a guest at a special dinner party just for you. The kitchen is spacious and roomy and a great kitchen to cook in. Everything you need to cook with is there and nothing is lacking. People can hang out in the kitchen while you cook and there’s still plenty of room. One of the people in our group plays the piano and often played the baby grand piano while we were having our cocktails. Of course it helps if your friend is a wonderful pianist! Even though it is a 1920’s era home, because it is so beautiful and comfortable, it can make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time when the house was first built and everyone is living the high life. Even with up to 12 people in the house it so comfortable. Some people can be in the kitchen, or some in the library or the music room gathered around the piano. If people are in the TV room watching TV or a movie, it doesn’t disturb people anywhere else. The grounds are lovely and provide a pretty spectacular view when you are in the rooms that look out on it, especially the dining room or the deck where we all hung out a lot. And one of the really great features of this house is the bedroom on the first floor that has a full bath so grandma doesn’t have to climb stairs to get to her room. I would highly recommend choosing this house. It is really special, and an incredible value for the price, compared to the cost of other houses in the same area.

WHAT A CHARMER!!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful old CT home with lots of charm and character. We had 8 people staying with plenty of room to spare. Very centrally located to all attractions, from 5 min to 1 hr away. We especially enjoyed our relaxing quiet evenings on the deck, discussing our adventures of the day. A beautiful serene setting! A kitchen to die for. (If you like to cook but, that is MY niche) The owner is such a wonderful person and was very helpful directing us to the many attractions. Very close to RI which also afforded us the opportunity to see the sites in Newport. If you want a home that's peaceful with a lot of charm, this is it. Don't miss out on this one! We're already planning on returning again next year. WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE!

Fabulous Retreat!!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this lovely home hosting a play-prov retreat with 12 actor/writers. This home is beautifully maintained, very clean and well stocked with all necessities. The kitchen is gorgeous and contains plenty of cookware, utensils and dishes so that meals can be varied and easily cooked, and yet it is minutes away from some lovely and interesting restaurants for evenings out. The layout of the rooms is brilliant, plenty of space for everyone to congregate together and still enough nooks and crannys for folks to spend time creating on their own. We particularly enjoyed the long dining room table where, when our main work was done, we could all congregate over meals and conversation. I particularly liked the accessibility of our host who was available to answer questions (how does one start the grill, e.g.!) but was never in the way or around when not needed. The closeness to the ocean and other points of interest on the coast is a huge plus. We will bring this retreat back to this home again in 2014. I was so delighted with my visit here that I am bringing my children and grandchildren for a family vacation this summer.

Comfort and Luxury

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect spot to vacation or gather the family for a special event! This was our second Christmas at this lovely Stonington home and not our last. This home is spacious and well appointed yet retains a cozy appeal. The amenities were just as promised. The owner's attention to detail is superb. The location is quiet yet very convenient. We especially appreciated that the grocery store was close by. Our little ones begged to go out for a hike "to look for deer" and the grown-ups that walked them around the property had a grand time. Memories have been made here.
