Loft Living In Spacious Grand Victorian Little Italy Downtown

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Apartment, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5+ Baths (Sleeps 2-6)

The Cool City Pad is just one of the many unique suites that are part of the Posh Digs Toronto collection of fully furnished short-term rentals in Little Italy.

This 3 bedroom suite sleeps 6 comfortably. The open concept living room/kitchen and dining room is spacious and comes complete with a gas fireplace.

Stainless steel appliances, large granite topped island, and completely stocked cupboards filled with dishware, cutlery and cooking utensils make it easy to prepare any meal.

A washer and dryer are also included in the suite along with a full bathroom and powder room. Plus there’s a private shower in the master bedroom.

The suite is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the house.

The Cool City Pad is 1 of 4 fully furnished suites in a classic

Toronto Victorian mansion. Over a 100 years old, the house has been fully renovated to include all of the modern conveniences you’ve come to expect but still keeping that old world charm. Each suite is private with it’s own entrance and all fully self-contained. There’s also free parking -1 per suite at the rear of the house. That being said you may not even need a car as public transit is a short walk down the street.

The suite is located on a residential tree-lined street in Downtown Toronto. The neighbourhood is known as Little Italy, it’s safe and family friendly with parks , cafes, and restaurants nearby. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Annex on Bloor street and the Bloor/Bathurst subway and 2 minutes to the Bathurst street car.

Everything is within walking distance including restaurants, bars, cafes, Sam James Coffee House, Starbucks, grocery stores, pharmacy, liquor store and public transit.

The restaurant choices nearby are varied-from Italian to Sushi, and hard to resist. There’s everything from 5 star to local legends. You can choose from the city’s favourite veal sandwiches that are bigger than your head to menus filled with locally sourced ingredients, prepared and plated by some of Toronto's finest culinary artisans. The folks that make the veal sandwiches are artisans as well, just a different kind of art.

Some of Toronto's other popular neighbourhoods are also close including Little Korea, Chinatown, Trinity Bellwoods and Little Portugal. From here you can get easily to some of our other great attractions like the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and of course the CN Tower. Niagara Falls is a great day trip that’s about an hour and half drive away. Even more convenient, skip the drive, and take one of the many tour buses that go there every day.

It's all about neighbourhood living here. You're still downtown and close to everything but you're not surrounded by the hustle and bustle.

If your travelling with a large group and you'd like to stay together you may consider renting more than one suite. We do get a lot of groups like wedding parties, convention attendees etc., that do book the whole house.

We do not live in the property, but do live a couple blocks away so we are close by if you have any questions. We are the owners and manage the properties ourselves.

If our calendar appears booked during the dates you'd like for this suite, we do have others you can enquire about on Homeaway 940811, 940812, 940816, 3015218, 3021303, 219340.

This includes other short-term rentals in the same neighbourhood close to this location. We have a variety of fully furnished suites to fit every budget from a simple bachelor suite all the way up to a luxurious 3 bedroom home.

CHECKING IN/OUT : There are no keys to exchange as all of our units use a coded keypad entry system. The combination code is on a timer so it

does not work until check in time which is 3pm.

Check out time is 11am.

Sorry we can’t accommodate early check in or late checkout

Because it becomes a logistical challenge for our

Cleaners and new guests arriving etc.

CHILD SAFETY: We welcome families and kids of all ages.

Please keep in mind the stairwells do not have baby gates.

If you have toddlers that are in danger of falling down the steps please

consider this when making a decision to book with us.

While we do our best to make all of our apartments as safe

as possible for our guests they are not baby proof.

You can rent all forms of baby equipment from this company and they will deliver and pick up.

You can also checkout our site for more information.

Looking forward to your enquiry.

Please note regarding booking online: If you are paying online through Homeaway or VRBO or any of it's affiliate partners we will require a photocopy of two pieces of government issued photo ID plus the credit card used for payment. All the names should match. The reason we have to do this is we need proof that the person that paid for the stay owns the credit card. We have had problems with credit card fraud in the past . Homeaway takes no responsibilities for their online payment process. In the end we are solely responsible for making sure the credit card used for payment was actually owned by the person that stayed with us.

About Arthur

We've lived and worked in downtown Toronto for most of our lives. Our kids go to school in the neighbourhood and keep us pretty busy when we're not working our regular day jobs in marketing.

We personally manage our short-term rentals because we really like doing it. Plus it's convenient as our suites are just around the corner from our actual home.

Arthur purchased this apartment in 2011

Why Arthur chose Toronto

Our properties are all in older homes in the established neighbourhood of Little Italy in downtown Toronto. We've updated all of our suites to make them as modern and comfortable as possible while still keeping the charm of a century home.

What makes this apartment unique

We love the neighbourhood for a lot of reasons. So much is in walking distance. You don't need to a car, unless you're going to Niagara Falls or any other day trips out of town. Everything else is a short cab ride away. And public transit is also nearby and convenient.

Perfect Toronto lodgings!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at 414 Markham in Unit 3 this October for about a week. Our group was two couples and a single in the three bedroom unit. We came to Toronto for a family wedding. The building has four apartments. The rest of our extended family stayed in the remaining three units for the week. The accommodations were more than satisfactory. First, the units are spacious, clean and well furnished, with comfortable beds and well supplied and elegantly finished kitchens. The large dining table and living room in our unit provided a welcoming gathering area for the extended families which were able to mingle and visit throughout the building. Arthur was very responsive in our preliminary emails and communications and while we were at the property he was easily reached. The weather turned cold suddenly during our stay and Arthur immediately came to our unit to turn on the gas stove in the living room, which worked very efficiently. The neighborhood nearby on College Avenue is full of restaurants, drug stores, small grocery stores etc, and provide convenient shopping for most needs. The only caution to be mentioned is that there are stairs in the tall building which could provide a challenge to those who are mobility challenged. For us, the lodgings were perfect for our needs and communicating with Arthur was very pleasant and easy. Five stars!

Great Thanksgiving weekend in Little Italy

  • 4 of 5

Rented this property to cook Thanksgiving dinner for four displaced Vancouver kids who are attending University this year in Ontario. Lovely old home in Little Italy. We had a great dinner with our kids, and their moms. Arthur was very accommodating. I asked him before we travelled to Toronto whether he could lend us a roaster for the turkey and he left a beautiful roaster for us to use that appeared not to have ever been used. Our kids had a great time exploring the neighbourhood, nearby Kensington market and U of T. Had dinner twice at Cafe Diplomatico on College Street which was recommended to us by a local (great no nonsense Italian food at reasonable price). Only reason I gave a four was I would love to see carpet upstairs and on stairs replaced by hardwood and more hooks in bathroom for towels and clothing. Great location, lovely property!

Modern, spacious, comfortable and fully-equipped , close to conviences and public transportation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay, especially the open-concept living area with fully-equipped kitchen, wifi and cable tv. Quiet street, yet steps from major public transportation routes, restaurants, stores. Parking spot was a plus, rarely used the car. Charming landscaping. Appreciated contact with owner, who provided useful information about the unit and neighborhood.

Everything was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I can't emphasise enough how great this place was! We rented it and the one below for a week-long team retreat, and it couldn't have been better. Arthur was so helpful, the places were both immaculate and provided us with everything we needed. Thanks so much, and we highly recommend staying here!

Cracking base to explore the city

  • 5 of 5

Found Posh digs after a few hours surfing the web and it was well worth the effort. First time in Toronto but we will be back and very likely seek out Posh Digs again as easy to find, lovely quiet area (yet 10 mins from plenty to do on College or Harbord). Good parking too so leave the wheels and use either street cat (get it from Bathurst about 100 yards away) or brill value subway 10 mins walk north and its about a 10/15 min ride down to Union via one change. PS. I'd bin the car for the whole time as driving is a mare!!

Posh Digs itself is very comfy, clean with all mod cons and setting it all up very easy and hassle free from the owners. Big plus this as other VBRO renters wanted paying by secure cheque which was a pain! Loads of good places to eat in both College (south by 10 mins walk) or 10 mins to the top of Markham with some really funky bars and restaurants....check out the Southern Accent Restaurant, cracking grub. We holidayed with our two girls and their boyfriends (all in their early 20's) and they had plenty to keep them entertained at night on College, Sneaky Dee's Bar being one.

Posh Digs may be in Little Italy but there's plenty of variety close by with Korean, Chinese, South American and Greek all close by. Posh Digs is advertised as being in a very quiet and safe area and I would totally agree. In fact the whole of Toronto has the same atmosphere and we never at any point felt insecure or even uncomfortable anywhere or anytime within the city so travelling in the evenings or later still is not a problem so don't miss out on the free entertainment on the Harbour front at night and all the bars and restaurants that come with it.

Toronto is a lovely friendly and clean city and despite the building work going on downtown we'd love to go back. Highlights for us being CN Tower, St Lawrence Market (Kensington aint up to much!), Toronto Island, Harbour Front (and the Amsterdam Bar and all its beers!) and surprisingly for me the Eaton Centre and Ice Hockey Hall of Fame!

Oh and Ps, did I mention the traffic! Just beware at rush hour to give yourself plenty of time.....particularly if heading to the airport for that flight home!
