I love living in this area, it's gorgeous! Life goes at a much slower pace and the people who live here are the best. This is a very friendly area to visit, people will acknowledge you and help you if you need it.

Why Owner chose Anchor Bay
We built the Tree House in 2000 to save the beautiful grove of redwoods that are on the property. We lived next door to the property and we couldn't see the trees cut down just so another big house could go there. We built the Tree House to fit in with the forested environment, which provides privacy for the people staying. There aren't many places where you can enjoy redwoods and the ocean simultaneously.

Wonderful Treetop Getaway
This cabin was a super cozy getaway nestled in a beautiful little redwood grove. The deck is awesome for looking out into the surrounding woods, and there is a break in the trees where you can see the ocean too! We truly enjoyed the hot tub (which was very easy to operate) and spending mornings out back listening to all the bird calls (and seeing lots of coastal birds too). The space is clean and inviting, and the kitchen is very well stocked. There are stairs from the parking pad as listed, but they were very easy to go down. The owners are very friendly to deal with and they have a very clear and detailed house book which covers everything, including tons of things to do in the area. We were surprised at how well stocked the small store is at the bottom of the hill, and the Thai place next to it is very good. All in all we really enjoyed the stay at the Treehouse and would recommend it to anyone!
Woodsy, quiety refuge.
My husband and I stayed for a short weekend. It's very clean, sunny studio. We extremely enjoyed sitting out at the deck. It was surprisingly warm. Place has everything you need. You can take a short walk around the neighborhood. Very woodsy. Eileen was a gracious host. Left us instructions and that's it. Directions to get there were easy.
It is a cute little cottage where you can just tuck in and get away.
The place is well maintained and clean. The hot tub is perfect for 2 to sit and soak under the stars. When you look out the windows you really feel like you are up in the trees. This place will be on our vacation destination list for a repeat visit!
We loved being in the trees, listening to the waves and Sea lions while soaking in the hot tub. Thank you again Eileen.
Perfect in all sense
Communication was great from the get go. Upon arrival we received a nice personalized message on paper going over the property details and nearby activities.
The tree house is far more spacious than what the images suggest, and contains everything you need to make your stay enjoyable.
With easy access to the almost empty beach at Anchor Bay, this is a dream spot.
Thanks so much for having us
I’m a bit reluctant to write this review, because I’d prefer to keep this gem a secret, and not risk having it all booked up when I want to return!
Things we loved: On the deck you are surrounded by redwoods. Privacy is adequate. At night in the hot tub you can hear the waves crashing, sea lions barking, and the star gazing was amazing. We could see the Milky Way, shooting stars, and satellites passing by. Accommodations were comfortable, and we had pretty much everything we needed.
What you might want to know: The property is up the hill about 3 blocks above the little town of Anchor Bay - you can see the ocean from the deck, but it’s way too far away to do anything like whale watching. It’s a bit of a hike back up the hill from the little town, which has a store, coffee shop, and a couple little restaurants (not that far, but uphill). The cute two person hot tub does not have functional jets - it’s specified as a soaking tub. The sun will come thru all the beautiful, tall, ocean-side windows in the morning - bring a sleeping mask if that’s an issue.
Overall I thought it was paradise, and a great bargain. A great location from which to explore the Gualala to Mendocino coastal area.
