About Lee Reed
My wife and I lived in the Gunnison Country, in this home, for four years before moving. We enjoyed the area and our friends so much, we decided to keep the home after we moved. We take every opportunity to come home and see old friends and revitalize ourselves. Some of our favorite activities are shopping in Gunnison and Crested Butte, hiking, 4-wheeling, enjoying meals as the locally owned restaurants, but mostly, sitting on the front porch or back deck and taking in the creation around us.
Lee Reed purchased this House in 2005
Why Lee Reed chose Gunnison
We purchased this property as our residence when we lived in Gunnison. When we moved from Gunnison, we loved the friends we made, the house and the area too much to totally leave, so we kept the house as our second home.
What makes this House unique
When we go to our Gunnison home, we enjoy sipping our morning coffee on the front porch and watch the sunrise and the Tomichi Creek valley wake-up. We enjoy our evening wine on the back deck while watching the sunset and the horses at the Green Mesa Ranch. Between these events, we enjoy hiking and jeeping the Gunnison Country, shopping in Gunnison and Crested Butte, boating on Blue Mesa Reservoir.

Our second "verse" probably was better than the first!! We had a great 10 days. Four hunters managed three kills. The wives that tag along love the house and its very adequate furnishings. We tripped to Lake City, Montrose, and were crushed at the condition of Blue Mesa Lake. We were a little traumatized when the garage door didn't open, but all was well when the power came back on. Evidently, we understood from the rancher, the power does that when there is a high wind.
The hunters love the large, clean garage for removing wet, muddy, hunting clothes and boots. Thank you for sharing your great home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gunnison Getaway.
The house is beautiful in a fabulous spot! The views were gorgeous and close to Gunnison. The beds were very comfortable and house was clean. We were only there three nights, I wish we had been there longer. Will definitely stay there again if I am in the area.
Great Ranch Getaway
The Reed’s have a great property set nicely on a hill that overlooks the mountain ranges in all directions. The view of the stars at night is incredible. We have a group of 8-10 guys that meet in Colorado every year for dirt bike riding the ohv trails. We have rented many properties and this is one of the best. Garage space for the bikes to be inside overnight and plenty of room for everyone in the house. Highly recommend.
Great Place to Stay
Although a little further out of town than we would have liked, the house was comfortable and had everything one would need for a relaxing stay. The views in all directions were spectacular.
Great place to stay
The house was amazing! Great views, HUGE interior, clean, everything you could ask for in a vacation home. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely look up this home. I could have done without the neighbor down the hill harassing us when we drove by and digging “drainage ruts” in the road because he thought we were going to fast, but that didn’t take away from the stay. Great vacation home!
Glad you enjoyed your stay. We have posted in all our material the speed limit on and around our property is 10 to 15 mph. It is posted within our house as well. To access our house you have to go by a working horse and cattle ranch. This is our neighbor's livelihood. On the ranch there are numerous animals, people, vehicles, etc. that are constantly moving about. The speed limit is set to provide a safe environment for all. I'm sorry you felt harassed, but I'm sorry you could not moderate your behavior a little bit so my neighbor would not feel his livelihood was threatened. It's a simple matter of respect - respect for rules, property rights, and the environment you are in.
Excellent getaway to the Gunnison area
We really enjoyed our stay at this location. It was very close to Gunnison and is a beautiful house with spectacular views in every direction. We will be back.
Our home is 12 miles east of Gunnison right off Hwy. 50.
