Our large family group really enjoyed our stay in the house. The only downsides were that there were no coffee filters or laundry detergent which I didn't think was very generous for a group that was staying for a long weekend. Also, the ventilation for the summer wasn't great in the large living room--it would've been nice to have been able to open a few more windows. Finally the only way to park in the driveway was to back the car down a steep narrow slope--I was white-knuckling it every time my husband parked our car. There was a convenient, "easier" parking space, but it was taken up the entire weekend by a car and a motorcycle not associated with anyone from our group. We have no idea who was parking their vehicles in this parking space! We found this odd.
spacious and comfortable house, with amazing views and convenient location. Lots of stairs since the house is multilevel (4 total) but that comes with having a house on the side of the mountain.
Nice place. Good for large groups. Decor is a bit dated, but spectacular views from the deck. Quite far from town, but you can call the shuttle and they will pick you up for $1/person. Just give them approx. 20-30mins advanced notice. We ended up renting a car because it was less hassle. The team from McCartney Property Management was great, and always quick to respond.
Our group had a fantastic retreat at this house. We very much appreciated the quality of the house stocked with everything we could ever want. Charles and the team from McCartney Property Management were wonderful -- easy check in/check out, available to answer any questions. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a retreat in Aspen.
I have not been home in several years to see family, so I rented a cabin during the week of Thanksgiving so family would not feel obligated to accommodate my wife and I. My family was able to come and go as they pleased, and with a four bedroom house we had a great time on our last night when we had a full house because everyone wanted to stay with us. This redefined visiting family for us, by turning it into a vacation in a beautiful cabin in the mountains, instead of my sister's basement.
This is the perfect place for a large group looking for fun in Aspen. The large kitchen/dining/great room was perfect for entertaining nights around the piano and huge stone fireplace. The place is also well stocked with all the necessities, like plates/cups/silverware, but also firewood, gas grill and hot tub. Mutliple balconies overlook the entire town, which is walkable, or a short cab. Long story short, we couldn't have asked for more, you won't be disappointed.
