Wonderful, simple, in town vacation home.
We had a great stay and enjoyed easy walking access to all of our favorite things in town. Our boys (15, 13 & 9 and assorted friends 13-15) all enjoyed being able to skateboard all around the village and down to the pier for ice cream and to the great skate board park. We also enjoyed using the community tennis courts.
We spent most of our time at the house, on the porch, which had gorgeous breezes all day and night. We loved it there so much we listened to the Red Sox on the transistor radio we brought! A special touch was the lovely bottle of rosé and bag of Wellfleet coffee beans that was left to welcome us.
I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I felt the little guest house was basically uninhabitable due to spiders, webs and smell of must, mold and mildew. We didn't need the space anyway, but if we had needed to use it, it would have definitely been a problem.
Otherwise this is an amazing property and if I haven't found my own slice of Wellfleet heaven by next summer, I'd be very inclined to visit this lovely home again!
Lovely home in the heart of Wellfleet!
We've vacationed here several times over the years and each time it gets more difficult to leave! This lovely older home is nestled between the town center and the harbor on a quiet lane - walking distance to everything - and is the perfect hub for a Wellfleet vacation. It offers the charm of an stately older home, combined with the updates and amenities of a newer one, a wonderful kitchen and an incredible wrap-around screened porch with french doors inside leading out onto it. Each time we've returned we've found major updates and improvements - and the owners are a pleasure to work with. There is plenty of room for larger families, the living space is open and spacious, and the yard is tranquil, private, and beautiful.
A Fantastic Place To Create Memories
Steeped with history, this clean and lovely home transforms you back in time when sitting on a screened in porch playing board games and reading – yes a newspaper, replaces those tablet devices. Well equipped, the home offers all of the comforts that you would expect when you are a short walk to Main or Commercial Street or even the harbor. Perched high enough to catch those breezes create that perfect vibe. Only caution would be, if you have elderly people in your party or very young kids, the stairs may be a challenge and the outdoor cottage may not be adequate for those elders. Otherwise, I find my home here, don’t enjoy it too much because you’ll have to kick me out.
Romantic and shabby chick
Very shabby chick and romantic house. The kitchen was rustic and beautiful. Bookshelves were filled with great books. Bedrooms were spartan, yet cool trendy. Lots of mosquitos outside the screens so we had to run when we went to get icecream at night or breakfast in the morning at a little store around the corner (It had rained for a week). Great location with walking distance to good restaurants and only a street away from the best view of 4th July parade. A house with history- memories lived in the walls. I liked it a lot. Wellfleet is lovely. We went to all wonderful beaches and I would like to go back some day.
