VELKOMEN TO VALHALLA! “WELCOME TO PARADISE” in Norwegian
Take your shoes off and enjoy this beautiful 4,400 square feet European-themed retreat. With six bedrooms, four baths, and a breathtaking panoramic view of Bear Lake's blue changing hues from all three floors, Valhalla is designed for all types of Bear Lake visitors: families and friends looking for an intimate location for a reunion, church and sports groups wanting extra room and close proximity to Bear Lake, small businesses interested in a unique lakeside retreat, or adventurers' looking for lodging after a full day outdoors. Valhalla is available year round.
TOUR OF VALHALLA
Valhalla's main floor is spacious, open, and handicap accessible. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen, dining room, living room, and lots of windows that face Bear Lake, offer stunning views of the lake and mountains at all hours of day or night. A large, comfortable porch is perfect for watching the sunrise.
The Peer Gynt Suite (Master Bedroom) is designed with relaxation and privacy in mind. The focus of the room is a king size, hand-carved, Norwegian bed—with a memory foam mattress for extra comfort. Large windows allow for sunlight and lake breezes. The room includes a private master bathroom and walk-in closet.
The second bedroom is the Bergen Room (a Port City in Norway), which has a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress. This bedroom has mountain views and a maritime theme.
The third bedroom is the Provence Room (because the striking blue of Bear Lake resembles the beautiful azure waters of the Mediterranean). This bedroom also has a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress and lake views.
There is a great room on the main floor with a large kitchen, dining room and family gathering area—all with panoramic views of the lake. The kitchen has granite counter tops, two ovens, two refrigerators, a dishwasher, a stove, a microwave, a crock pot, and everything else you need to prepare nourishing gourmet meals. The spacious dining room has two solid wood tables that will sit 16 adults. There is also a small children's table with chairs for four children, as well as a high chair.
Valhalla's living room boasts gorgeous views of the lake. Three couches and a recliner allow visitors to enjoy the 56' flat screen with DVD, VCR and satellite TV. There are books and DVDs available, but don't forget to bring your own favorite DVDs.
There is a second full bathroom and a laundry room on the main level.
Upstairs is the Boren Hite (Bear Cave) with a huge bedroom, large bathroom, loft with bunk beds and twin beds, and play area for the kids.
The large upstairs bedroom with a Troll Haugen (Troll Knoll) theme has a deck with views overlooking the lake, two queen size beds with memory foam mattresses, and beautiful log furniture. The loft has two sets of bunk beds, plus two twin beds. There is a play area for children with large stuffed bear cushions, furniture, toys, books, and chairs.
Downstairs has a Fisk Haven (Fish Harbor) theme. There is a bedroom with a futon, a separate room with a set of full size bunk beds, and a porta-crib available. A ping pong table and foosball table are certain to create some friendly competition. There is also a second TV for DVDs and games. The fourth bathroom has a jetted tub and travertine tile.
From downstairs a three-car garage can be accessed. A large barbecue grill in the garage can be easily rolled outside to grill your favorite steaks. There are two picnic tables in the garage if you would like to eat outside. There is off street parking for 5 vehicles and boat parking. No overnight street parking is allowed by the local community management.
This home will comfortably sleep 16 guests (max number of guests). Children 3 and under are not counted toward the maximum number of guests. Valhalla is located on a hill overlooking Bear Lake and is a short walk to the bike & walking path in Garden City. Valhalla is just a short distance from white beaches, boat and wave runner rental facilities, famous Bear Lake raspberry shakes, Pickleville Playhouse, small town gift shops and specialty stores, well-loved restaurants, and to recreational activities available at Bear Lake. For those interested in winter activities, we are located 15 minutes from Beaver Mountain ski resort. Snowmobiling is steps away.

About: My wife and I moved to Bear Lake about 5 years ago and started Bear Lake Cabin Rentals about 4 years ago. We love the Bear Lake area. The lake is such a beautiful blue and the area is so nice and charming. The winters can be cold but they are so peaceful and uncongested. It is a great place to get away from the busy city life.
Why Garden City:
We enjoy managing properties for people and not only building a relationship with the owners but all the great guest that stay with us. We have a lot of people that come back year after year to enjoy all that Bear Lake has to offer
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
During the summer months there are tons of great outdoor activities. There is the Minnetonka cave, tons of hiking and biking trails. A huge beautiful lake for boating, water skiing and wake boarding. In the winter Beaver Mountain is just 15 minutes up the canyon and is an undiscovered treasure for the ski or snowboard enthusiast. There are hundreds of miles of terrain for snowmobiling and some great sledding hills too.
Perfect location and a beautiful home! The house was well kept up with amazing views. Check in process was quick and easy.
We enjoyed our stay on the 4th of July week-end. We really liked the big eating area. It was in the living room, but it cools off at night. We enjoyed the view off the front porch and enjoyed watching the fireworks up and down the coast. It was clean and had what it said it did. It was a accurate description of the property. It was great to have the washer and dryer with the soap. It is evident it was the place of a happy family. There was some confusion about the voucher. It seems to be better to rent the play equipment at the time you want it. If you reserve it a head of time, and pay the down payment they will not reimburse you when you give them the voucher. All in all, it was a enjoyable experience. Thank you
For the most part it was great. Could have been a little more clean in the bathrooms. But overall it was great!!
Loved the house. Lots of room for our family. We picked a really hot week to go so having no air conditioning was hard. Close th the beach. All the notes that are around the house are a little unnerving but you have a great place. Thanks so much.
We were pleased with our stay at Valhalla. Here are some Pros and Cons:
Pros: There was plenty of room to sleep more than even 22 people if you brought air mattresses, etc. It was in an easy to reach location. There were two fridges (1 in kitchen and 1 downstairs), which made for plenty of room for all our food. Although there was no AC, they provided many fans that helped to keep the house cool. The temperature got up to about 90, but at night it was perfect (55-65). The owner was responsive to our emails and even took a video for us of the upstairs and posted it on Youtube so we could get a better idea of what it looked like when planning sleeping arrangements. We had someone who was in a wheelchair and so they allowed us to check out a little later to accommodate her.
Cons: Because they didn't have an AC, we brought two portable AC units for the windows in the upstairs. They worked perfectly. I would suggest to the owners to invest in some simple window AC units for the summer. It didn't have the "cabin" feel or look that I like when staying by a lake or in the mountains, but most of the day we were outside, so it didn't matter too much. They did not have much of a selection of movies to choose from if you wanted to relax for awhile.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things, but overall the pros far outweighed the cons.
We loved our stay. The only complaints were that the beds were very uncomfortable and we were quite far from the beach. The house was great, could have been cleaner but very nice. We would like to have a list of other rental properties you have for future vacations.
