The small town of Malchow is a tourist gem in the center of the lake district landscape. It is also known as the island city, as the interesting old town is surrounded by the Fleesensee and Lake Malchow. The connection to the other parts of the city is next to an earth dam on a landmarked swing bridge, which opens several times a day for boat traffic. The area also has Fahrgastschifffahrt, marina, restaurants, cafes and shopping. Other attractions are the monastery church and the town mill. A large beach and boat and bicycle rental complete the tourist offer.
