Our Guesthouse is fully furnished and very clean! It sits behind, slightly higher, and to one side of the primary house but enjoys a great view of the lake, beach, and dock! You can enjoy the lake from the large covered front porch, from the beautiful front lawn or sandy beach, from the end of the dock, or cruising, skiing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking out on the water. Also a great base for fall or spring hunting trips(deer and turkey) or winter/spring downhill skiing/boarding or cross country skiing and fun in the snow!

A great place for kids and adults for the whole family whether playing games together, barbequing, or enjoying water sports and the outdoors. We have Horseshoe pits, a new/adjustable Basketball hoop, and a Pickleball court to add to your family play. Our beach offers lots of sand for the kids to play in and an excellent swimming area! Bring the water toys!!

There are Kokanee/Silvers, Mackinaw, Rainbow Trout, Tiger Trout, Small and Big Mouth Bass, Perch and more. Expect to see wildlife every day including Bald Eagles, Osprey, Heron, Ducks and Geese, and occasional Deer, Moose, and Loons in the quiet months.

Some of our summertime guests in August or September may see 'fire planes' scoop water from the lake in efforts to help control fires!! The planes touch down directly out in front of our beach. This is an awesome site.

Wi-Fi is available at the Guesthouse, cell service is excellent, and the Stevens County Public Library is in the town of Loon Lake(a few blocks away),along with All Seasons Grocery/Hardware. Gas station, Pizza and Ice Cream parlor, Latte stands are all nearby.

Fall/Winter/Spring visitors enjoy the quiet, the wildlife, hiking or skiing nearby, and a super comfortable home base for cooking and relaxing.

Come and enjoy - You won't want to leave and will count the days till you can return!

About Jerry Kuntz

My wife and I fell in love with Loon Lake in 1980 and continued to vacation here every year with our children until we purchased this gem of a property in 2000. The Guesthouse, beach, lawn, and entire property has been completely remodeled and re-built since then and is beautifully maintained. Jerry is a Spokane native, Gonzaga Prep and Seattle U. graduate and has a 50 year plus connection with Loon Lake. Mary Jo is a Tacoma/Seattle native with many years of experience working with ski resorts. Our guesthouse provides you the comfort and convenience to enjoy one of the most beautiful and peaceful places you'll ever visit.

Jerry Kuntz purchased this house in 2000

Why Jerry Kuntz chose Loon Lake

Loon Lake is close to Spokane, minutes to downhill skiing at 49 Degrees North and Mt. Spokane or a short jaunt to Schweitzer Basin in Idaho. It is an ideal location for fishing, boating, swimming, and as a base if you're a deer, elk, or turkey hunter. Excellent fishing for Kokanee(silvers),Mackinaw, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Tiger Trout, Small and Big Mouth Bass, Perch, and Triploids.

What makes this house unique

We love to take early morning fishing, kayak, or canoe trips on the lake, water skiing while the lake is like glass, cruising in the evening to take in sunsets, sitting at the end of the dock enjoying a glass of wine and good company. If you're training up the kids to play basketball, we have a brand new in-ground hoop, backboard, and paved court. BBQ with a view of the lake from the large covered front porch.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I was looking forward to a quiet week but welcomed the friendly company of the bald eagles, squirrels, quail, splashing fish, and raven. I enjoyed walks in the nearby nature preserve. Thanks so much!

Relaxing and fun cottage on scenic Loon Lake

  • 5 of 5

A great fun and relaxing get away home just steps away from a private beach and fishing and boat dock. I have been two summers in a row. The cottage was built with care and love. This past summer my wife two our granddaughters on Kayak rides over and over again.

Jerry and M.J. are friendly and available to fix any problem. After meeting us at the start of our rental, they let our family have total run of the beach, dock and our cottage. Each year I wished we could stay longer.

Had a great time at Memories at Morgan Park!

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time I have been at this property and it was just as wonderful the 2nd time as the first. The guesthouse has all the amenities you could ask for and was very clean and comfortable. The owners just added a pickle ball court and my family had fun playing that. The owners are very nice and accommodating. I would return to this property again!

Very Posh and little to no privacy

  • 1 of 5

The photos are very miss leading. The photos are actually taken in the back yard of the property owners home. Which you have to walk through to get to the tiny beach and dock. This is located in the backyard of the property owners home. So you can say that it kinda feels like your being watched the entire time your at the beach. They say that they will try to give you privacy but everywhere we went on the property they were sure to be already be there or show up. They also keep there storage stuff for there selves in the properties garage. So there in and out of the property a lot as well. (Not very relaxing) If you smoke but don't smoke in the house this isn't the place for you as you will lose a good bit on your deposit because you smoked outside the property. Basically if you feel like having a few extra people on your trip and like your trip micro managed then this is the place for you. As for me I will not be back and do not recommend this property.

Owner's Response: Our Guest House is beautiful and really well maintained, as all of our previous many years of guests will tell you. We do have a NO Smoking and NO Pets policy stated on our web page. We did our best to accommodate our guests when they showed up for a 3 day weekend with a pet and several smokers. Our Guest House sits behind and slightly higher on the hill to one side of our main lake home. It is about 150 steps to the beach. We do try to "disappear" during our guests stay so they feel they have their own private beach resort during their stay. This has worked well for most all of our previous guests. In this case it was our guests anxiety since they were breaking our primary rules that made them feel watched even though we were, in fact, gone for most of the 2 days they were here.

Most relaxing vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a fun time at this guest-house. Jerry & Mary Jo are very thoughtful and had a well-stocked kitchen with everything we could need. Plus sand toys for the kiddos! We brought our 3 year old and mid week our friends with a 2 year old and a 5 year old joined us. They had so much fun playing in the sand and the very safe swimming area (most of it is less than 4 ft deep, with a log to keep the kiddos in.) We had the little beach to ourselves most of the time. The lake is very laid-back and was never very busy, but perfect for tubing or fishing. The weather was great and we enjoyed walking on the trails in the nearby woods. Highly recommend it!

Luxurious, Comfortable lake house with scenic views

  • 5 of 5

This Loon Lake Guesthouse was designed and constructed by the owners for close family members. Their love and care shows in every room. The Guesthouse living areas are up on the second floor surrounded on three side with a gorgeous view of the Loon Lake. There are two balconies on the Guesthouse and several grass, beach and dock sitting areas for you to relax.

For activities we did morning and evening walks around the lake and on nearby forest trails. We also canoed and rented a boat nearby. We laid on the warm beach and dock and then swam in the safe protected swimming area. The Guesthouse and its balconies provide privacy and yet you will be near the owners if you have any needs or questions. My wife and were 100% satisfied. I hope you will be, too.

Great Family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property with our family! We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and up kept everything here was! This was NOT roughing it by any means :). We were very comfortable during our stay. We have a 4 year old and a 7 year old and they loved this place! The beach is wonderful for playing in the sand (toys provided, but feel free to bring your own) and the swimming area was blocked off which made it feel safe and manageable for kiddos swimming. The lawn near the beach was great for yard games if you needed a water break. The guest house is actually located off the water which we found comforting since you could cook dinner/prepare lunch, etc. and not worry about the kids getting in the lake un-supervised. They could play basketball or in the yard right outside the guest house without being near the lake until you were ready to walk back to the beach. My husband and I felt totally comfortable heading back to the fire pit to enjoy time alone after the kiddos went to bed. (Not a far enough distance to cause concern from the guest house to the water). Our one regret is that we did not bring bikes! This is a pretty good location for a bike ride around the neighborhood! We did go out one evening for pizza and ice cream which was a short drive and a nice mid week venture. Jerry and Mary Jo were available to answer questions and friendly conversation the whole time, but we truly felt like we had the place to ourselves...awesome hosts! I would recommend this spot to anyone with a family looking to get away and slow down for a bit...we loved it and would certainly come back! Thank you for such a wonderful vacation!
