What makes this cabin unique

Beach access, clamming, birdwatching from the deck. Secluded sitting area down by the beach...great spot for getting some sun or having a couple of glasses of wine in the evening. The cabin is surrounded by fruit trees...depending on what time you're visiting, you will have a choice of apples, plums, pears or a variety of cherries. Choice of dining areas on the front sunny deck or shady private porch in the back. Bring your kayak and paddle over to Saddlebag Island State Park. Bring your bikes and ride 7 miles over to Edison to enjoy one of the many artisanal eateries, bakeries, pubs and galleries.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely furnishings, well stocked kitchen and pantry. Location perfect!! Nice gardens, beach area. Owner thought of everything. Love the book/journal to record our thoughts and read others. Hope to return.

Just the peaceful retreat we needed

  • 5 of 5

Our trip to the beach house was so relaxing. The weather was just perfect while we were there and it really had all of the essentials we needed to just hang out and not have to leave the island. Met a few locals on our evening walks, had coffee down on the deck overlooking the water in the morning and caught up on some reading. Just a lovely location and perfect trip.

Absolutely Divine.

  • 5 of 5

Coming from a large city, the Beach House was sheer heaven. Having all the windows open, looking out on the sound, not hearing planes, cars, sirens,...it was heaven on earth. The cottage was very comfortable for my husband and I and well stocked with everything. Thank you Jen for sharing!!!

One of our Best Vacations Ever

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was great! We use VRBO a lot, and this was our best rental ever. We rented it for 10 nights. The inside was well furnished/decorated/comfortable/clean. The living room and front deck provided awesome views of the bay. But the best places were the private deck halfway down the steps to the beach area and the chairs on the rocks by the shore...both provided a secluded, private oasis which we called our "happy places". The cottage was a great base from which we did lots of day trips - golf, Cascade Mountains, into Canada, a whale-watching cruise, etc ... but we were always glad to come back to the cottage and just relax, sipping cocktails by the bay. Jen and Chris (Owners) couldn't have been nicer, and they provided lots of little touches. We were welcomed with a vase of flowers, a bottle of wine, and an anniversary card (our 20th)! The kitchen was well stocked with various items that you need but hate to have to buy when on vacation (spices, paper products, dish detergent, laundry soap, etc). Jen also provided some Samash Island coffee, granola, and soap. The extra large bath towels were heavenly, and water pressure in the shower was great. Both the couch and the bed were very comfortable. This little rural community provided scenic morning walks, great breakfasts at the Edison Cafe, several close-by seafood restaurants, and the best views of peaceful water, rich farm lands, and snow capped mountains. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend our time in Washington and HIGHLY recommend this lovely cottage to others who want a truly fabulous vacation experience.
