About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 5 or add Efficiency for 6-7

This property is especially friendly to families and couples that enjoy a 5K cross country ski or run through open space, two groomed parks, tennis and volleyball courts and a mountain view. All right across the street. A furnished deck, fenced back yard, canoe, picnic wagon and children's outdoor toys make for summer fun. Take a 15-mile bike ride on the Greenway or drive 44 minutes to Rocky Mountain National Park and its 355 miles of hiking trails.

WIFI, antenna tv, dvds, table and electronic games, a wood burning fireplace and a fully supplied kitchen with extras make being inside nearly as much fun as being outside. Cooks will enjoy finding tools, appliances and even basic spices available for meal preparation, inside or outside on the charcoal grill. See VRBO #252109 for more details.

Just inside, the kitchen has all upgraded appliances including a double oven, cookware, eating and serving supplies you could need, including a coffee maker, microwave, Kitchen Aid blender and a Kitchen Aid mixer. Basic cooking supplies are available if you need a cup of flour, some salt or a pinch of spices.

From a viewing deck, accessible by sliding and french doors off the master and 2nd bedroom, enjoy a long view of Lake Macintosh, Long's Peak--great light and shadows in early mornings and dusk year round! Play tennis or practice your basketball shots (dribble the short walk to the half court). Put the kids in the big yellow utility wagon with a picnic, soccer ball, roller racers, fishing poles or kites to either of the two parks you pass on your run around the lake where they can play in well-maintained playgrounds and grassy areas--plenty of room for Frisbee tossing or kite flying.

Fishing (catch and release), volleyball courts in each of the two parks, tennis courts across the street and a half-court for basketball pick-up in one of the parks. Owner provides a canoe with nifty trailer, paddles and life jackets for adults and children can be pulled across the street for a fun hour or two on the water.

Enjoy evening visits or family game time in the family room. Antenna TV, video and board games are available. WIFI is available throughout. Or, if it is chilly outside, a wood fire in the fireplace will warm you up and the firewood is provided. Owner is on property to care for yards, snow and to promptly address your needs and concerns.

Longmont is a surprising community, with an excellent library, interesting downtown with lots of art and antique shops, a beautiful commemorative rose garden with dozens of varieties, bicycle, rollerblading or walking paths, including the St. Vrain and the Left Hand Greenways among others, recreation and athletic facilities including the YMCA and Longmont Recreation Center (both have indoor pools and water slides), lots of restaurants and fast food outlets.

Boulder's ''no growth'' city ordinances have pushed many retail markets to Longmont. In that 1/8 mile from the home, you will find Safeway, Blockbuster, Green Cleaners, Subway, Daylight Donuts, Restaurants and Pizza and in Longmont you will find major restaurants and shopping within short drives or bicycle rides.

Within 2 hours of many ski areas, including some of Colorado's smaller gems, such as El Dora. Estes Park and the infamous Stanley Hotel is just 45 minutes west at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Forest. See http://longmontcolorado.gov/departments/departments-n-z/parks-open-space-trails for information on parks, open space and trails.

Clean linens, including bedding and table cloths are provided for inside and outside tables. Green/clean cleaning products are used and no perfumed products (such as glade or fabreeze) are used ever. Want to begin your day with a 5K circuit cross-country ski or run with great views of the Long's Peak and open space around a lake populated with herons, pelicans, ducks, red wings and geese? A local bald eagle couple, pelicans, and foxes can be occasionally spotted. And who doesn't enjoy the antics of prairie dogs on their haunches watching as you pass through Boulder County Open Space? Take a short detour off the main running/ jogging/ biking path and visit the historical agricultural farm or a restful walk along the Oligarchy Greenway 1/8 mile into the morning sun for coffee and scones (Starbucks, Daylight Donuts and Mr. Bean). Within 6 blocks, you will find a Safeway Grocery, Blockbuster and Redboxes, Green Cleaners, Subway, Pizza and an Italian restaurant.

This property is especially friendly to families and couples that will enjoy two groomed parks, tennis and volleyball courts all right across the street. A furnished deck, fenced back yard, canoe, picnic wagon, ice chest and folding chair, bikes, child seat or bike trailer, and children's outdoor toys make for summer fun. Put the kids in the big yellow utility wagon with a picnic, soccer ball, roller racers, fishing poles or kites to either of the two parks you pass on your run around the lake where they can play in maintained playgrounds and grassy areas--plenty of room for Frisbee tossing or kite flying. Fishing (catch and release), volleyball courts in each of the two parks, tennis courts across the street and a half-court for basketball pick-up in one of the parks, covered picnic tables, basketball half-court and non-motorized boat entrances. While you pack the picnic, the little ones can play in the 4X4 sandbox under a shade tree in the fenced yard.

Owner provides tennis rackets, volleyball, basketball, soccer ball and roller racers for the kids. Oh, yes, and a canoe with nifty trailer, paddles and life jackets for two adults, a teen and a toddler can be pulled across the street for a fun hour or two on the water where you may be the only craft on the lake. With all this activity, you will be glad that there is an energy efficient washer and dryer available -- and a drying rack for the ecologically minded. You may also be glad to know that this home is energy-efficient. The owner took advantage of special financing for energy upgrades through Boulder County's Climate Smart and Energy Smart programs. Insulation and appliances, including the evaporative cooler for those warmer summer days, are energy efficient.

Not up for all that activity? Inside, make your own blended smoothie, freshly juiced vegetable drink or coffee from beans and water straight from the mountains. Enjoy it on the back deck and shady back yard with its eating space for 6-8. The kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, eating and serving supplies you could need, including a coffee maker and grinder, microwave, vegetable chopper, Kitchen Aid blender with pasta maker and mixer, electric skillet, electric maker and pressure cooker. Basic cooking supplies are available--a cup of flour, some salt or a pinch spices. Recycling is expected and you are encouraged to contribute non-protein food scraps to the composter.

Enjoy evening visits or family game time in the family room. Antenna TV and DVD or VHS players with children's DVDs and family VHS available, chess and board games. Vintage Nintendo and Play Station available with a separate monitor and game playing area, leaving the television free for movies. A Macintosh desktop is available for checking your email and WIFI is available throughout. Or, if it is chilly outside, a wood fire in the fireplace will warm you up, fire starter and firewood are provided. A chiminea on the deck will warm you on chilly evenings. Caretaker on property cares for yards and gardens and remove snow.

Longmont is a very family friendly city, filled with parks, hiking and biking trails and lakes. The County Fair Grounds host livestock shows, antique auctions, arts and crafts fairs, the farmers' market and other festivals and is within 2 miles of the vacation rental. The Greenway

Our family enjoyed our stay in Carolina's home. She was very gracious,we were treated like family from the minute that we arrived.

The properity was just as described in the listing. If you are looking for a Home Away in th Longmont area, it would be a good choice.

Very Pleasant Place

  • 4 of 5

Right in Longmont, this is a most quiet place surrounded by pleasant things. across the street we watched people biking, walking, hanging out with their children.

It is in the center of all the attractions of the area. Good access to Boulder + CU, Denver, Greeley + UNC, Fort Collins + CSU, Longmont with Outlet Mall, and, of course, close to Estes Park and the National Park and lots more of the Rocky Mountains.

Six of us came to Longmont to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. This house had everything we needed to make it a week long party. Carolyna is a wonderful hostess. Thank you.

Perfect for our trip

  • 5 of 5

We rented Carolyna's house for one week this summer while we were in the area for a softball tournament. The location was great. It was centrally located for the areas where we needed to be, and the lakefront and park in front of the house was nice. The house was very clean and orderly, and had everything needed for cooking and in-home entertainment (including WiFi for the kids). The back deck and BBQ were nice amenities, as we had a few meals outside. We also rented the small efficiency downstairs which gave us extra space and a bit of privacy for the older kids. Since Carolyna is located next to the area where we stayed, she was available to answer our questions about the house and the local area. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, and Carolyna was a gracious host by making sure we were comfortable.
