The town of Middelhagen, where our house is located, is part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Southeast Rügen with beautiful, unspoiled nature. From our house to the fine sandy white Baltic Sea beach is only about 2 kilometers and only 200 meters to the lagoon. Mönchgut is the southeastern, rugged part of Rügen with a very long coastline between the Baltic Sea and Bodden and a lovely, multi-faceted landscape. Hiking and biking trails lead directly past the house and open up to you the entire Mönchgut to the seaside resorts. From the piers and from Port Gager and the bulwark in Baabe one can take boat trips on the Baltic Sea and the Bodden waters. Also water sports of every kind can be found in close proximity to the bay and the Baltic Sea. From Göhren station, the raging Roland invites you to nostalgic trips to Baabe, Sellin, Jagdschloss Granitz, Binz, Putbus and Lauterbach. Nearby you will find the historic church, the school museum and a ceramics workshop. For the physical well-being you will find various restaurants in the village, which are within easy walking distance. Shops offer the nearby seaside resorts several times.
