A stone's throw from The Chattanooga Choo Choo, and walking distance from the Tennessee River and the Aquarium, our one-of-a-kind colorful and comfy 1200 s.f. apartment, occupying the entire first floor, features urban living at its best in this vibrant, friendly and adventurous city. Located on the bustling Southside, this beautiful Brick Victorian was totally restored by its talented owners in 2008. You'll be literally living in a gallery! Contemporary and cozy, with art in every room, open floor plan, bamboo floors, fully equipped kitchen, king sized master with own TV, two twins, and when there are five or more guests, or by special request, a queen sized murphy converts the gallery into a private 3rd bedroom. Accommodates up to six guests quite comfortably. King bed can be divided into two twins when needed! Affordable alternative to multi-rooms in a hotel. Everything provided, just bring your clothes. The large Southern front porch is like another room. Sit out there and watch the world go by! There is a patio out back if you'd like to barbecue, and a back porch for eating out or just watching the sunset.

Excellent selection of restaurants, shops, and galleries within walking distance. Wifi, flat screen TVs, DVD's, plus second TV in master BR, washer/dryer. Ideal vacation destination for families, girls getaway, corporate lodging, and outdoor lovers. Enjoy Chattanooga's Southern hospitality in an urban setting on a quiet street with the fastest broadband in the country. Grab a free shuttle bus around the corner at the Choo Choo to anywhere around downtown, or rent a bike along the way at bike kiosks. Two good ways to get acquainted with the City! Enjoy the Aquarium, boat rides, The Hunter Museum, IMAX, Children's Discovery Museum, the Majestic Cinema, experience 'The Block', our new outdoor and indoor climbing walls, located across from the Aquarium. Take the walking bridge over the River to the historic North Shore. Just a five minute drive to Rock City, The Incline Railroad, and Ruby Falls. Nearby Golf courses, and yes, only 10 minutes from the airport. Special rates for longer stays. Advance Reservations strongly recommended.

Got a special request?: OPTIONAL: We're happy to accommodate your needs whenever possible. Want the refrigerator stocked? Want to stay in and have a hot meal prepared? Want a golf lesson or two? Your wish is our command!

About Miki & Tom

We came to Chattanooga on an ArtsMove Grant from Bradenton, Florida where we were one of a group of artists instrumental in creating The Village of the Arts, the largest arts enclave on the Gulf Coast.

Miki & Tom purchased this house in 2007

Why Miki & Tom chose Chattanooga

We fell in love with Chattanooga, and being urban pioneers, we love living right downtown. There is so much happening in this medium sized culturally rich city with a myriad of activities for singles and families alike.

What makes this house unique

We are walking distance to great restaurants and right around the corner from the free electric shuttle bus or bike rentals along the way to take you anywhere around downtown ending at the Tennessee River. The Aquarium, live theatre, Symphony, movie theatre and much much more. And there is off-street parking behind the house.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Very rarely do we come across a place that is so in tune with what we enjoy and appreciate. This stay has been one of those occasions and it has been so relaxing and comfortable and stimulating visually as well. Loved the thought and imagination that has gone into the setup but most of all, meeting Miki & Tom has been the real treat. This house is just like them -- unique, inspiring and caring -- we shall be back!

Best VRBO property I have visited - ever.

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful house, well appointed inside and incredibly comfortable. The Southside location is great for exploring Chattanooga, and is very convenient for the Ironman races or other events in town. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, shops, and entertainment locations about a block north, and the city's free shuttle makes it possible to park your car for good for the entire visit. Miki and Tom are wonderful.

You won't be disappointed!

  • 5 of 5

This home is comfortable and clean - styled in a way that makes you feel like you're on vacation in a hip city (which you are) - the owners are kind and thoughtful and stay out of your way unless you ask for help - you will not be disappointed.

I am a picky person and must say - this home lives up to the reviews and the pictures. When we drove up I was a little skeptical (but I lived in Baltimore for 16 years so know how city living can be) - as soon as Miki opened the door we were transported to another world. The home is warm and welcoming but also eclectic and fun so that it feels like you're on vacation. You walk one block down the street and find blocks of restaurants and shops - the food is top notch. A short drive to everything (the zoo, the aquarium, Ruby Falls, Incline Railway....tons of bars and restaurants and great shopping). This was our first time in Chattanooga and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

This was the perfect home for our family. Surrounded by Miki's amazing art and creativity was an added bonus to our traveling experience. The house was clean and all the extras were provided. Walking distance to many restaurants, enjoying the front porch, and relaxing in a great space were the best for our weekend getaway!

Car: necessary

Located downtown in the historic Southside arts district, we love being able to walk to restaurants and down to the waterfront. Our favorite breakfast/lunch place is the Bluegrass Grille at the corner. The Flying Squirrel and The Terminal, just two of our favorite local watering holes, are a couple of blocks away. Five minutes by car is Ruby Falls, The Incline Railway, and Rock City. Voted the #2 arts destination in a mid-sized City and Where to Retire Magazine voted it one of the top places in the country to live (Mar/Apr 2011). (The owners made the cover). Rich in cultural and outdoor activities, fabulous restaurants, and lots of attractions and Seasonal festivals. Just 1-1/2 hours from Atlanta, and 10 minutes from the Chattanooga Metropolitan airport.

Golf: There are more than six municipal golf courses within fifteen minutes to half an hour of downtown with moderate price ranges.
