ABOUT LAKE COUNTY AND CLEARLAKE

Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in the State of California. Visitors enjoy fishing, swimming, sailing, wind surfing, water-skiing, boating, and riding jet skis. Individuals can rent boats and personal watercraft from several local businesses. Clear Lake can be found in beautiful Lake County, approximately 120 minutes northwest of Sacramento and 120 minutes northeast of San Francisco. For fourteen consecutive years Lake County has had the cleanest air in all of California. Winters are mild here, generally 40s and 50s and Summer temperatures are usually in the 80s and 90s.

The lake itself is truly magnificent. It stretches nearly twenty miles in length and includes over 100 miles of shoreline. Considered a “warm water” lake, the bass fishing is unrivaled as witnessed by the many fishing tournaments held here annually. The record large mouth bass caught out of this lake weighed a whopping 17.52 pounds!

Clear Lake is a clean, healthy, nutrient rich lake which can produce algae blooms during periods of warm temperatures, particularly in mid-August.

About Christy and Dave

We have owned this home for over fifteen years. Our children have grown up vacationing with us at this very special place. They caught their first fish off the dock here, developed a love for nature and learned to water ski. It's our pleasure to share this unique property with you and your family.

Christy and Dave purchased this house in 2000

What makes this house unique

This property is one of the few lakefront homes on Clear Lake that offers so much space and privacy. Majestic oak trees offer plenty of shade on a warm summer day.

Large lawn area just above beach to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Located in a protected cove that provides smooth water for water-skiing, tubing, kayaking and fishing.

Lots of wildlife, including deer that visit meadow above house on a daily basis, great blue heron that perch on the dock to catch a fish for a meal, otters, turtles, grebes and more.

Private pier and large dock to moor boats, fish, swim or just relax on. Catch bass and catfish right off the dock.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dave and Christy,

Your place is fantastic, I caught to two bass in the 4-5 lb range on a spawning bed at your dock, Eileen and I have been to wineries daily, well organized and the comfort we were looking for, we came back one day and a deer was bedded down in the shrubs at the carport as though he was your pet.

Thank You,

Al and Eileen

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful time on our second stay at the Lakefront Paradise property. We really enjoyed the backyard, especially since the lake is right there. The green area right before the bridge unto to the dock is a great place for kids to run and have fun. The house is well kept and in great order and we appreciated the updated furnishings. There is plenty to do with the family between the kayaking (which was provided at the site), books, movies, boardgames, and fishing we couldn't ask for more. The people in Clearlake are also really nice and appreciative of your business. We plan on taking a long trip and short trip every year to this site. Keep up the great work we really love it.

Peaceful and private lakefront gateway!

  • 5 of 5

My significant other and I along with our dog spent a short vacation in early October at this very peaceful and private lakefront getaway. The home is very comfortable, and it would suit a larger party well, like two families with kids. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to prepare home cooked meals to enjoy on the deck or in the dining room with stunning views of the lake. We didn't use the BBQ but it's there for your outdoor cooking needs. We occupied the master suite and the bed there was very comfortable. The master bath is large and has a sunken tub and a separate shower, which worked well for us, as I prefer showers while my husband enjoys his bath.

We've spent most of our time on the large deck overlooking the lake, the private dock and the lawn area by the water, which you can easily access through the stairs leading to it, or we hung out on the dock. The entire perimeter of the property is enclosed with a lower fence, and the deck area is surrounded by the guardrail system shown in the photos and a four foot fence on the grassy side of the deck. I mention this for those who would be concerned like I am about your dog getting out. Unless they are high jumpers they should be safe while you're enjoying this beautiful lakefront backyard. The home is older and not fancy, but everything in it is very comfortable, including the couches and armchair in the living room. Plenty of outdoor furniture for you to use as well. There is a heater in the living room and another one in the dining room area which we had to use at night, and it warmed up the place nicely. We felt very cozy inside.

For those of you concerned about the house being fed by filtered lake water, it is clean and you can shower in it with no problems, and the owners provide plenty of Alhambra drinking water for you. Also, many places only provide a starter toilet paper, paper towels and similar supplies, but this house was stocked with many extras so you don't have to go shopping just for that. I recommend a large shopping trip on your way to this secluded vacation home, because you might not feel like leaving for a few days, because it's so relaxing and private. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to those wishing privacy on the lake with your family and fur babies very own dock, kayaks provided by the owner and a well stocked comfortable house. The owners were very easy to work with and we hope to return for a longer stay soon. Thank you Dave & Christy

Pictures a little misleading

  • 3 of 5

Kinda mildew smell. Clean and comfortable. Main bedroom room locked behind master has a rodent problem. Scratching at the wall all night! Not a raccoon they are inside locked room!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback Debra. After we spoke, I sent out our pest control service and there was a raccoon (not a rodent) that was getting underneath the home (not in the home) causing the scratching sound and that has been taken care of. The musty smell was left after a recent guest stayed at the home. Not sure what caused it, but we have had the carpets cleaned and the home now smells fresh and clean. Not sure what your reference to misleading photos was referring to. Our photos of the property are up to date and accurate. We do have more tules along the lakeshore this time of year than shown in the photos. They are quite beautiful though and good for the health of the lake and fish. We have a swim ladder on our dock and a paved ramp to allow access to the lake for kayaking and swimming. Regards, Dave and Christy

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I, my in-laws, and our two miniature pinscher dogs have been spending a week at Clear Lake for 12 years now. We have a boat and jet skis and love Clear Lake! This year we stayed at Dave & Christy's "Lakefront Paradise" home. It was great--lovely scenery, quiet & calm cove, grassy area for the dogs, large dock--perfect for our troop. Dave responded quickly when I texted him with questions. Lots of labels in the home so we were not searching unnecessarily for things. Drinking water was provided along with other assorted items that are not available at most rentals. I highly recommend this vacation home.

We are always happy to see great feedback from guests that are familiar with Clear Lake and have stayed at other homes in the area. We work hard to make every stay enjoyable for our guests and to go above and beyond what other vacation homes in the area have to offer. Regards, Dave and Christy

Fabulous Lakefront Property!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a week at Lakefront Paradise during the week of the Labor Day holiday. The home and property were fabulous. Home was very clean and fresh and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The beds were comfortable and the cooling system kept the home comfortable even during 100 plus degree days. The water filtration system worked great, the water smelled fresh and clean (we saw a previous review that said the water had an odor to it). There is plenty of cookware, dishes and utensils. The BBQ worked great. Home has Wi-Fi and nice HDTV with plenty of cable channels and local sports coverage. Views from the home, deck and property of the lake are absolutely beautiful. We used the kayaks provided by owners. It was easy to launch them right from shore at the ramp and the cove is protected from the wind so it is perfect for kayaking. We spent much of our time on the large dock fishing and swimming. The water was warm and the dock has a swim ladder. The fishing off the dock was excellent, we caught many large mouth bass and a 15 pound catfish. We enjoyed watching the egrets and great blue heron that frequented the cove as well as the family of river otters that swam by. We ventured out to visit several wineries in the area and highly recommend doing that as many are located on very scenic properties and the wine is fantastic. Many of the wineries don't charge for tasting or charge only $5 which they refund if you buy a bottle of wine. Very relaxed atmosphere at the wineries. Everyone we ran across was very friendly, the county has a small town country feeling to it, a refreshing escape from the hectic Bay Area. We ate at several very good restaurants that the owners recommended to us. We definitely plan to come back to Lakefront Paradise again in the future!

Lakefront Paradise - Our Home Away

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming to Lakefront Paradise now for 12 years. We're Clear Lake veterans, and stayed in various vacation homes around the lake before discovering this one -- at which point, we knew we'd never go anywhere else again.

My husband loves fishing - and the dock set-up is ideal. And I enjoy the fabulous deck and lake views, along with the all of the "comforts of home" that the spacious house provides (great WiFi, TV, furnishings and fitted-out kitchen). But most important for us, the owners take a personal interest in the property and are always available if we have questions or special needs.

A sense of serenity permeates the place; it's just far enough from town to feel entirely remote - while still being close enough to easily access services. And the surrounding woods are filled with beautiful wildlife. I cannot imagine a better place for a getaway!

We come up at least 2x per year, and plan to continue doing so for as long as we can . . .
