About Alina Ventura
I fell in love with Paris when I was 18 and came to study Law at Nanterre University, leaving Switzerland where I was raised. Years after, as I modeled around the world, leaving my Saint-Germain-des-Prés apartment early in the morning, the taxi drives to the airport, would take me across the bridge from the Left Bank to the Right Bank, through the Island. Living in the Ile Saint-Louis was absolutely out of my reach then, but it always was my fantasy. I was in awe of the impressionist paintings of Monet representing the Seine in the morning and the bridges. The pink-grey lights of dawn, the golden illumination at night, triggered an intense sense of beauty, peace, serenity and elegance. Years after, when we found this dream place, it had been owned by the same Parisian lady, for over 50 years ( Paula received it as a wedding present from her father when she was twenty one). We fell in love with her, and her place. Needless to say it was like awakening the Sleeping Beauty. It needed to come to modern life, while preserving its original 'cachet'. It was an immense privilege and a great joy to give a second life to this rare and full of charm haven, and I must say that sharing it with our lovely guests and friends has also been a great privilege and a joy.
Alina Ventura purchased this Apartment in 1999
Why Alina Ventura chose Notre Dame
Our love for this garden, this enchanting haven, in the middle of this dream Island...Paris and love, the best combination in the world!!!! The location in not the least of the conveniences and charm of this unique place on the Island.
What makes this Apartment unique
Whether seating in the dining-room, or in the living-room, or lying in bed, we always enjoy the serenity of the place. We read in peace and silence. When friends stop by, we seat in the garden and sip a cocktail or have tea in the afternoon while listening to Edith Piaf 'La Vie en Rose'. When we want to go to museums or shopping we just ride our bikes to the Place des Vosges or to Musée Beaubourg, or go to Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It's like two minutes from everything that represents Paris to us.

Exactly as advertised. Great location, beautifull apartment.
We will return and recommend to others
Excellent location and amenities. While in a touristed area, there was still a neighborhood feel.
This property was an excellent choice for the four of us (2 couples). Exceptionally large, especially for a Paris apartment, it afforded us all the amenities and privacy we could have wanted. While the weather did not lend itself to using the spacious garden area, it was wonderful to be able to view it from the spacious living area. We got to know some of the local shopkeepers and found everyone to be friendly and helpful.
Great location- property not quite as described
Owner was very nice to let us drop our bags on arriving morning. The neighborhood is perfect for cafes and little shops.
The apartment is much more worn than the pictures. There is a lot of personal clutter everywhere - used soap in the baths, and old sponges in the kitchen.
If you are using this to sleep and have coffee, it is fine. You would not want to try to cook or spend lots of time there.
It worked great for three women who are used to dealing with odd conditions - not the place for you if you are pickey about your surroundings.
This apartment was clean, comfortable and had lots of charm. The location is central and lots of things to do in the area as well near a metro to get to other sites or go out to eat. The owner has a great system for ensuring the keys can be obtained without fuss or worry. We loved our stay here and would stay again on or next stay in Paris.
Excellent location & comfortable apartment
The ile Saint-Louis feels like a small village in the middle of Paris. This apartment is centrally located on the main street, the Rue Saint Louis en I'lle with shops and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. We love to spend time in the Saint Germain and Marais areas both of which are a short walk away. The apartment is conveniently located on the ground floor with a lovely garden attached. With three bedrooms and two separate bathrooms, it is particularly nice for a family or couples traveling together. The owner, Alina, was very helpful in arranging the rental. We will definitely stay here again.
Charming, Comfortable, Lovely Location
Our family had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect! I reminisce about walking outside the front door and there stands a wonderful flower shop, an amazing butcher, an incredible cheese shop, the delicious patisserie, a grocery, coffee, it was magical!
We had a wonderful time! Five of us together (two parents and three adult children): the metro, shopping, everything was so close and we had the unique experience of being in a neighborhood that was quiet at night.
We were there for the holidays and hope someday to have the opportunity to be there in summer to enjoy the garden courtyard.
