A 1290FT apartment and 1400FT totally private garden...located at 68 rue Saint-Louis-en-L'Ile, the most prestigious small island in the middle of the Seine River, away from the crowd. A small exclusive “village” in the heart of the capital, sheltering you from the noise and the turmoil.

The Notre-Dame-de-Paris Cathedral, La Sainte Chapelle, the Louvre Museum, the Bastille Opera, the Museum of Modern Art Georges-Pompidou (Beaubourg), several open bio-markets, deli/grocery stores open until 11 p.m., best cheese shop in Paris, prize winner butcher, delicious Boulangeries and Patisseries (bakery, pastryshops), Piscine de Pontoise fitness (swimming pool/ fitness), beautiful spa (Les Bains du Marais), cinémas.

Several metro and RER stations (St-Michel/Châtelet: RER connecting Charles de Gaulle (B3) and Orly (B4) airports as well as Château de Versailles(C5) and Disneyland (A4), other metros: « Pont-Marie » to Galerie Lafayette, Opéra Garnier, « Saint-Paul « to Champs /Elysées-Etoile and « Sully Morland ». Our unique apartment has been totally refurbished and counts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one powder-room, one WC, a large dining-living room and a kitchen.

It is the ONLY apartment with a totally private garden in the island.

The fully equipped kitchen invites you to prepare from a light breakfast to a sophisticated gourmet dinner.

Four French windows open to the garden designed by famous Parisian landscaper, Guillaume Pellerin, and a sophisticated lightning system creates magic at night. This haven of peace will entice you to meditate, read, work or entertain your dearest friends. Oak hardwood floors throughout, quality Art-Deco period furnishings will propel you to other times. Wi-fi in the house and garden keeps you connected to the outside world.

The apartment is on the main street of the island, Rue Saint Louis-en-l’Ile, in a 12 apartments elegant building. It is close to the famous BERTHILLON ice cream parlour. Wonderful art galleries and best restaurants of the Island are just there. It is within walking distance to all major attractions and to the Metro, as well as 100 metres from the Seine River waterfront, for romantic sunset strolls.

Our apartement is perfectly suited for wheelchairs. Over 115 m2 (1250sq.ft) and 160 m2 (1720 sq. ft) terrasse-garden which gets the afternoon sun.

There are three bedrooms.

The Master Suite overlooks a Japanese garden. It has one French king-size bed (De Luxe Simmons Matress), flat panel screen TV, a bathroom and an independent WC, en suite and two big closets.

The second bedroom has two single beds 90cmX200cm (Deluxe Simmons mattresses) a flat screen TV, one big closet.

The third bedroom has two single beds 90cmX190cm with very high quality mattress .An Art-Déco desk, and a large bookcase, filled up with books about art, travels, novels that will keep you entertained on rainy days and a flat screen TV, and a big closet.

Each bedroom has a large integrated wardrobe. Rooms 2 and 3 have flat screen TVs with cable network, cordless phones, CD player/stereo and a very Parisian choice of music and song, an alarm system, make it for the technological part of the visit. Telephones in each bedroom.

The living-room displays a large art-déco sofa, seating three, two mohair velvet club 1930 armchairs, two chairs, several side tables. The family room/casual eating area with its Art-Déco mahogany dining table (seating six to ten persons), six mahogany velvet covered chairs and a mahogany sideboard make the space elegant and comfortable. The separated though open kitchen allows the hostess to keep an eye and ear on her guests.

Although there is no air-conditioning, the apartment's thick stone walls keep it protected from variation in temperature. Its numerous windows and the garden ensure that the apartment stays cool in the summer, and is very well heated in the winter.


This apartment features another big bathroom which is quite exceptional in the island. Two customized bathrooms with bathtubs, both with hair dryers and heated towel racks, along with a separate powder room, which features a laundry closet, with Miele tumbler and Miele dryer. Iron and iron-board.

About Alina Ventura

I fell in love with Paris when I was 18 and came to study Law at Nanterre University, leaving Switzerland where I was raised.

Years after, as I modeled around the world, leaving my Saint-Germain-des-Prés apartment early in the morning, the taxi drives to the airport, would take me across the bridge from the Left Bank to the Right Bank, through the Island. Living in the Ile Saint-Louis was absolutely out of my reach then, but it always was my fantasy. I was in awe of the impressionist paintings of Monet representing the Seine in the morning and the bridges. The pink-grey lights of dawn, the golden illumination at night, triggered an intense sense of beauty, peace, serenity and elegance.

Years after, when we found this dream place, it had been owned by the same Parisian lady, for over 50 years ( Paula received it as a wedding present from her father when she was twenty one). We fell in love with her, and her place. Needless to say it was like awakening the Sleeping Beauty. It needed to come to modern life, while preserving its original 'cachet'.

It was an immense privilege and a great joy to give a second life to this rare and full of charm haven, and I must say that sharing it with our lovely guests and friends has also been a great privilege and a joy.

Whether seating in the dining-room, or in the living-room, or lying in bed, we always enjoy the serenity of the place. We read in peace and silence. When friends stop by, we seat in the garden and sip a cocktail or have tea in the afternoon while listening to Edith Piaf 'La Vie en Rose'. When we want to go to museums or shopping we just ride our bikes to the Place des Vosges or to Musée Beaubourg, or go to Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It's like two minutes from everything that represents Paris to us.

Relaxing, Peaceful, and Exciting Respite in the best location in Paris

This 3 bedroom home with 2+ bathrooms is bright, spacious, modern and artsy -- and the private garden is an extraordinary great surprise! It is well appointed with a nicely prepared, efficient kitchen and with comfortable sofa and chairs and blankets and pillows. The ground floor (street level) location is very convenient, yet the home is very quiet and private. Once inside, you would never know that you are actually along the street! Three steps out the front door and you are right into the life of I'le de St. Louie. There are multiple bakeries and groceries (with great fruit) and cafes and restaurants, fun clothing and kitchen stores, art galleries, pharmacy, and everything you could ask for within 10 to 100 meters from your front door. No need to buy groceries for the pantry, when it is just as fast to step out the front door and buy what you need from a shop across the street! My son went down the street one night, saw a great men's barbershop, and decided to shed his long surfer hair to get a fresh French haircut! Our family of 5 stayed for 5 days (ages 17 to 50's), and joined by our son's girlfriend one night. With the layout of the bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas, there was plenty of room. There are excellent restaurants with many different types of offering. The I'le St. Louis is the best place I have ever stayed in Paris. Narrow streets with lots of people walking, not too many cars. Mostly local people and not too many tourists (at least compared to elsewhere). It's quiet but still lively. A simple walk to several metro stops and to many popular nearby destinations. November temperatures were too cold to use the garden, but it was beautiful to have the garden there, and too look upon it, and to walk outside amidst the pretty plants and trees every once in a while -- here in the middle of the Seine ! Who would have guessed? I highly recommend this charming and fun place to stay, and will indeed recommend it to any friends of ours who are planning a trip to Paris. We first stayed in a 5th floor grand apartment on Blvd St Germain (which was very very nice, with great balcony and views), and then stayed at I'le St Louis. Both were VRBO and both were wonderful. If you've got the time (8+ days), stay at both. if not, stay at Alina's place on I'le St Louis.

Fabulous stay in a magical apt on Ile Saint Louis

We were two active senior couples thrilled with the apt. and especially enjoyed the spacious, quiet private garden! Our friends are Paris "regulars" and recommended we try to find a place to stay on the island. Best advice ever and we felt so fortunate to find Alina's apt available for rent. Upon arrival, we found the unit to be very clean (and I'm super particular about that). A great way to start our stay. However, we were disappointed to have our first few days with no internet, phone or TV due to a service change, but Alina was very helpful and by Day#3, all was fixed. Although the kitchen area is small, it is very well equipped. We picked up fresh baked goods from the boulangerie a few doors down, brewed our coffee and had breakfast (sometimes with eggs and juice too) "at home" every morning before we set out for the day's activities. One of the bedrooms has 2 twin beds that are quite small, but fortunately my husband and I managed fine, although we would have preferred a double or queen bed. I don't think our friends could have fit in those bed comfortably - they stayed in the Master BR with attached bathroom. We did not try the sofa bed in the study as our general experience with them is that they aren't particularly comfortable. The decor and layout of the apt made us feel so at home, especially after a long day of walking/exploring the beautiful city of Paris! The location of the apt is in a busy area during the day, but the action was all positive. Lots of nice shops and good restaurants closely ... many within a block or two of the apt. Transportation is within easy walking distance and during our 2+ weeks there, we managed to get most anywhere within Paris, no problem! Without hesitation, we highly recommend Alina's apt and we're ready to book again for 2017!! Thank you Alina for sharing your fantastic apt with us. Although we regret not meeting you in person ... you were the ultimate hostess!!

Excellent location for shops restaurants and site seeing. Abdel could not have been more helpful. We all enjoyed our stay, my daughter was so excited to be able to see the Notre Dame Cathedral everyday!!!!

I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would visit it again!!!

Beautiful apartment full of light and space handy to all amenities and tourist venues.

This beautiful apartment on Saint-Louis-en-I'lle was so lovely, spacious and with a gorgeous garden. Our group of 6 ladies arrived after a very long trip from Australia to find a very lovely place to call home for the next week. Beautifully furnished with all the comforts and amenities needed for our stay.

The shops in the street had everything you could possible need, bakery, groceries, wine, restaurants, ice-creamery, gifts etc. The location was so close to any transport or just walk as we did everywhere and to most tourist venues. I could not recommend this apartment more highly as all of us enjoyed our 7 days there immensely and would recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful place to stay, close to all shopping requirements and yet tucked away in a quiet and comfortable street close to everything. Thank you Alina for making us feel so welcome in your beautiful apartment.

Best location to "stay" in Paris

2nd time renting this home, it is perfect street with all you need 5-10 steps away! The 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are great, but love the open living area and huge outdoor (private) courtyard. I'm sure I'll be back for a 3rd visit. Highly recommend...
