"Island Charm", A beautiful home, close to the beach. You won't want to leave!

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 4-5

'Island Charm' is a beautiful private home that is just one short block from the beach and “What a Beach It Is!” St. Augustine Beach has miles of white, soft sand with a relaxing ocean view.

'Island Charm' is a perfect Vacation House to get some much needed rest and relaxation. There is a huge live oak tree out front, and there are tropical plants in the front yard. Behind the decorative front door, the inside is painted soft tropical colors, so you feel like you have arrived at you own Island Resort.

'Island Charm' has 2 bedrooms, each with a luxurious mattress (one king bed and one queen bed). There are 2 full baths, a roomy beautifully furnished living room, a dining space and a full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and lots of dishes, glassware, pots, and anything else you might need. There is Cable TV in each bedroom, plus the living room, and the cottage includes Wi-Fi High Speed Internet. The A/C works great and there are also ceiling fans throughout. Then, for your added convenience there is a washer & dryer for laundry. There's a patio umbrella, table and chairs on the back patio for outdoor dining with a Weber gas grill for your outdoor cooking convenience.

St. Augustine is the oldest city in America, founded in 1565. During your stay, step back in time as you visit the Castillo de San Marcos Fort, walk the cobblestone little streets, take a horse drawn carriage ride, visit the Oldest House in America, the Lightner Musuem and walk through beautiful Flagler College. The historical areas of St. Augustine are only a 10 minute ride away.

There is also miniature golf a few blocks away, and the beach is just one short block from our home. 'Island Charm' is located on a quiet street, but local restaurants and cafes are all within a few short blocks. The cottage is close to everything including famous golf courses, shopping, and grocery stores. St. Augustine is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Our house, 'Island Charm' is located less than 150 yards from the one of the widest white sand beaches in Florida. This delightful beach house sleeps 4-5.

About Ida Oberle

My husband and I moved from Philadelphia and bought a home in downtown St Augustine in 2005. We love living in America's oldest city, surrounded by history. We also love the beach so we bought Island Charm in 2006 so we can use it much of the year and our family has a place to stay when they visit.

We hope you will enjoy staying at Island Charm as much as we do, and you will LOVE the beach.

Ida Oberle purchased this house in 2006

Why Ida Oberle chose St. Augustine Beach

We didn't want to be on the beach block, and this house is the next best thing., as we are the next block back.

Our neighborhood is mostly year round residents, so it is friendly and quiet, yet small restaurants are all around within a few block walk,

This is a terrific walking town with beautiful BIG live oak trees everywhere, including our front lawn.

What makes this house unique

Our home feels like a real home, not like a vacation rental.

You will feel the difference as soon as you enter. Terrific furniture and all the touches of home, and freshly painted walls.

There are books on the bookshelves, and good pots and pans, flatware, linens, lots of towels, etc. Back patio is a great place to relax.

Many of out guests return again and again.

We know you will be comfortable!

All went well. We enjoyed the house.

Very nice house. No big issues Fence in back was a bit low for our dog. Next door neighbor was very rude and unfriendly. But all-in-all, a very enjoyable house. Thank you.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay. I try to create an atmosphere when my guests feel they are in a friends house, and not a sterile hotel. As to my one neighbor, we can pick our friends, but not our neighbors. She is not a problem, just unfriendly, which is a shame , as this beach town is so friendly. I realized that you are right about the fence being low for a large dog, ( hadn't thought about it before) and will replace the back fence in a few months. Thanks for your comments, and hope to see you again. NOTE: Fence has been replaced with 6' fence!

Had a great two weeks here. This was my second year staying here. Nice home with everything I needed for a home away from home. Management is great. The beach is beautiful. Plenty of good restaurants to choose from. Lots of things to do. I look forward to my next vacation here!

Total Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My family had the best time. The house was perfect. Sparking clean, nicely decorated and good furniture. It was a half block to the amazing beach. I am use to the Jersey Shore and dark, cold water, and this water was clear blue and warm. We loved it. Great vacation and only a 10 minute ride from St Augustine.

Very Comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Stayed here the month of March 2011 and found it like a home away from home. Quiet, clean and convenient to beach and eating establishments. A zip of a drive to St Augustine. The neighborhood is quiet and there is plenty of places for a quiet walk. Have booked for 6 weeks next year and looking forward to it.
