The city, located in the beautiful Sauerland Winterberg makes to its name: Thanks to the above-average snowfall can be found here usually for more than 100 days a year solid snow. With more than 1600 m long, 15 bends and a maximum gradient of 15%, it is one one of the fastest bobsleigh tracks in the world. No wonder then that it was three times already hosted the launched by Stefan Raab Wok World Championship. Alternatively, there is the opportunity to take a Snowscoot in Winterberg. This is almost a bicycle on sliding surfaces.
Of course you can also without skiing or bobsledding spend a wonderful winter holiday. The snowy landscape is perfect for long walks or romantic sleigh rides. A real adventure, where the winter landscape shines in a new light, is the participation in a torchlight hike.
But Winterberg is not only in winter a popular destination, even in summer there is much to experience. The swaying hills and unspoilt nature invite then to extensive outdoor activities in the fresh air. Especially hikers, mountain bikers and motorcyclists appreciate the city in the heart of the Sauerland in the green season.
