Charming, Light-filled Studio in Historic Brooklyn Brownstone

Bedrooms Studio
Space 350 sq ft
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2-room studio w/ queen bed and pull-out couch, sleeps 3; full bath & kitchen.

A well-appointed studio apt on the 3rd floor of a historic brownstone built in 1899, this lovely, private space is filled with sunlight and offers stylish comfort at an affordable rate, a stone's throw from Manhattan. Fully equipped with linens, dishes, and comfortable furnishings, and brimming with historic charm, it boasts three large windows, an original decorative fireplace, brand new appliances, and claw-food bathtub with shower. Though cozy, it is well designed and can sleep 3 by virtue of a comfortable queen sized bed as well as a couch that pulls-out to be a double-bed. Perfect for a couple, small family or close friends. This Brooklyn neighborhood is charming and tree-lined, and the popular neighborhood cafe is a half-block away. Shopping, restaurants, and laundry are all within a short walking distance, and the subway station is a 5-min walk. A trip to Manhattan takes only 18 mins to downtown and 30 to Times Square.

Convenient New York Location: Three blocks from A express to Manhattan (15 mins to Wall Street, 35 to Times Square), ½ block to grocery store and laundromat, one block from coffee shop that is the heart of the neighborhood, one block from good bistro-style restaurant, nice wine shop around the corner, three doors down from small park with playground.

Completely Private Apartment Within A Real Home: This apartment is completely private, with locked door, on the top-floor of a townhouse occupied by a family (us). On rare occasions, guests may see us in the hallway (two parents, a 9-year-old, and a very friendly dog named Lucy), coming in or out of the building. Guests can feel free to ask questions about NYC or the neighborhood at any time, but are also assured of privacy.

Payment: 1/2 Payment will be expected prior to the start of the vacation and the remainder of the payment upon arrival. Payment may be made online, through PayPal, or (if time allows) by check via postal mail.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given if reservation is canceled 30 days in advance. At 15 days, 1/2 of the amount will be refunded. After that, the deposit is no longer refundable.

wonderful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

I just came from a week spent at this wonderful little apartment, and I can't say enough good things about it. I was working in Manhattan - starting very early each morning, and working long, exhausting days - and having this charming place to come home to every night was invaluable. It is bright, clean, spacious, cozy, and so well-appointed - everything I could have needed was there for me. The subway station is a few short blocks away, and trains to Manhattan run frequently and quickly - I was in Chelsea within 25 minutes of walking out the front door. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet, with trees everywhere and shops just around the corner, and my hosts were friendly and welcoming while still allowing me my space. Absolutely perfect. There is nothing quite like spending a day soaking in all the excitement and energy of Manhattan, and then curling up with a cup of tea and a good book on a comfy sofa in a beautiful space to bring the day to a close. I hope to be back soon.

Great apartment in Historic area with everything you need!

  • 4 of 5

Loved our stay in Bed-Stuy! This apartment had everything we needed. A fully appointed kitchen, tiny but very functional. Great place for just us 2. Close to the trains and many many historic sights. Our hosts went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay and everything we needed. Will be back next time we’re in NYC

A perfect Brooklyn bolt-hole !

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in this lovely wee apartment that provided us with everything that we could have asked for. After a hard day exploring Brooklyn in the biting cold, nothing better than returning to the toasty, warm flat with instant hot water. Fab. Couldn’t recommend this apartment highly enough. Thanks Leecia & Mike.

Great studio, hosts, and location.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this great Brooklyn studio the past 4 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hosts, Leecia and Mike, were extremely kind and helpful. The studio is clean and comfortable and in a great Brooklyn location of tree lined streets and historic old brownstones. A 20 minute subway ride into Manhattan, and lots of great places to eat within blocks of the property. Highly recommended!!

This studio is on the top floor of a historic brownstone in the Stuyvessant Heights area of the Bedford-Stuyvessant neighborhood of Brooklyn. With tree-lined blocks of Victorian brownstones and churches, this lovely residential area is full of friendly neighbors and historic charm . An impressive hybrid of urban and residential, it exemplifies elegant city living as designed in the late 1800's. Rich in African-American history and architectural beauty, it offers restaurants, shopping, groceries, playgrounds, and above all else, a convenient 18-minute subway ride to Manhattan. Close proximity to other notable Brooklyn attractions, such as Prospect Park and other dynamic Brooklyn neighborhoods like hip Williamsburg and classic Park Slope, add to the appeal. Overall, a good affordable home base from which to explore New York City easily while having a calm, cozy place to return to each day.
