Romantic Key West style cottage in historic downtown Wilmington -- two bedrooms each with full size bed, and one HUGE bathroom complete with claw foot tub. Walk to the River, shopping, bars, restaurants, live theater, and all the amenities that downtown has to offer.
The home has a large covered rear porch to enjoy the oriental garden and very private backyard. Although the house was built in the late 1800's, it was redone in this century retaining much of its original charm... high ceilings, hardwood and ceramic floors. The "cooks" kitchen, while minus a dishwasher, is fully equipped including blender, Cuisinart, gas range, microwave, side-by-side 'frig, and custom counter-top made of granite and exotic woods.
This is a perfect Mediterranean style house on the beach, I cannot ask for more, this is a very relaxing place for a great vacation time, I really enjoyed the house and the beach, I hope I can comeback soon.
I really appreciate the quality and comfort of this unique home in Vero Beah Florida.
We rented the cottage when our daughter was married in Wilmington since we live out of town. We loved it! It was neat and clean and suited our needs perfectly. We had a little problem with the air conditioner but the owner went out of her way to be sure it was resolved quickly. We would definitely stay there again !
House is adorable in photos but much not as presented. The house was not clean when we arrived nor were there sheets on the beds. The owner did get housekeeping there in short order but we had to finish the washing and the dryer squeaked so loudly that was not an option to finish washing. We were told to put the bed linens on the clothes line on the back porch but it was broken so also not an option. Even after cleaning the floors were so dirty our bare feet quickly turned black when we walked through. Dust level was so high that we were miserable and enjoyed little time in the house. The house needs a thorough cleaning and please clean the return grate/AC unit, it is covered in dust, thus part of being so miserable. Ice maker minimal operation at best but kitchen nicely stocked. Back yard photo is very old as the fence is falling down in parts due to a tree that grew through it, hoses laid all around back yard and had clearly been this way for some time as many were under dirt. Very nice location, NO problem with barking dog as mentioned in another review, and adorable neighbor next door. Would not return or recommend only because the house is not as presented in photos, many things not working or working well, needs a major cleaning.
Close enough to downtown for a nice leisure walk. Beautiful historic homes surround this cute little house. We felt very safe walking between the house and downtown at night. The backyard garden is peaceful. The beds were comfortable and we had more than enough linens for our group of four. I definitely recommend this house if you want to be close to downtown but in a more relaxing atmosphere.
Quaint house and yard with shaded parking. Enjoyed architectural touches like stained glass windows and tall ceilings. Owner was helpful and responsive. Location is great for walking downtown but being away from noise. A dishwasher would be a nice amenity, but that's what husbands are for :)
My daughter and I stayed in this wonderful old house for a long weekend and had a great time! It's a perfect location to downtown, we walked everywhere, only used the car to go to Wrightsville Beach. We had the pleasure of meeting Andrea in person, as we locked ourselves out while having breakfast on the back porch and she came right out with a key! Great place to stay, we'll be back!
