Stunning lake and mountain views!!!

The Ajijic mountainside overlooking Lake Chapala is the setting for this luxury Casita. The location of this private and walled estate is in easy walking distance - 5 blocks down, to the center of Ajijic where many restaurants, shops and galleries are available for your enjoyment. For the more athletic individuals, just two blocks from our entry gate is the beginning of several hiking trails.

Our property is located in the upscale, safe and friendly sub division "Las Salvias".

The luxury casita has its own private terrace where you can sip your morning coffee and view Lake Chapala and majestic Mount Garcia. You also have direct access to the 25' solar heated swimming pool. Inside, the spacious casita has a fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, gas stove/oven, coffee maker, blender, pots and pans, dishes, etc.) The large master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, a 60" flat screen tv and ensuite with walk in shower. There is a separate laundry room with full size washer and dryer. For your viewing pleasure, there is 40 inch flat screen TV with Shaw Direct (English) satellite in the living room, and the casita is wired for hi-speed wifi internet.

A special treat is our covered rooftop 'Mirador' with a breathtaking panoramic view of Ajijic, Lake Chapala and the mountains. A lovely place to enjoy your evening cocktail and watch the sun set.

About Cheryl

We are a retired Canadian couple. We have traveled extensively but fell in love with Mexico and decided to make it our 2nd home.

Cheryl purchased this villa in 2011

Why Cheryl chose Lake Chapala

Ajijic is known for it's near perfect year round weather. The town has numerous restaurants, shops and galleries as well as it's close proximity to Guadalajara.

What makes this villa unique

The casita is located in an upscale quiet, safe neighborhood (Las Salvias) and is walking distance to the village center and malecon.

A perfect oasis

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I were travelling around Mexico on our motorcycle and need a break from the heat on the coast. We were very lucky to stay at this perfect casita in Ajijic. It had everything we could have wanted and needed. The casita is very clean, comfortable and fully equipped, we felt totally at home from the moment we stepped in...what a find!! The photo are very accurate. Having a pool just outside our door was a lovely bonus. We enjoyed the location, yes it is a bit of a walked into town and the return is up hill. BUT without the uphill you would not get the spectacular views...well worth the walk. If walking in and out of town is a problem for you taxis are readily available and inexpensive.

Thank you our wonderful stay.

When my wife and I arrived at the casita, we expected something nice...what we got was over-the-top wonderful. The casita was beautiful. It was large, well furnished and included everything a person needed to live. Our host, Hal, treated us as if we were family. He showed us the area and even took us to a couple of parties...which we enjoyed thoroughly.

The only negative is the long hill leading up to the house. If you don't have a car, and are in good shape, you'll have no problem. Otherwise, be ready to take a taxi back from the village which is about a mile away.

The owners two little dogs, Teddy and Dottie, were delightful and not at all bothersome.

Though this vacation rental is excellent for anyone of any age...I would say that it is most perfect for a younger couple that want a private, romantic getaway.

The Best Casita for Exploring Ajijic

  • 5 of 5

This casita has everything and I am very picky. The pool was wonderful during the day as well as the night time. The view is beyond wonderful. Traveling out of the country can be a bit stressful even for those of us who do it every year, Lori our hostess really helped my husband and I figure out how to do side trips, recommended a great driver, on and on, she really helped make our trip a special one!

Best of Both Agendas!

  • 5 of 5

For our first trip to Mexico, the thought of a resort left us cold...but with our lack of Spanish, we also knew we couldn't go full immersion. This has been the perfect blend. Hosts Lori and Brad made sure we had a safe ride from Guadalaraja, and gave us a personal tour of the town our first night in. And while they were always ready to answer any questions, we found we could travel and explore quite well by ourselves, even with our limited Spanish. And what an oasis it has been to return to this beautiful casita after our daily adventures! While we loved Ajijic, we loved it even more for being able to escape to the quiet, cool privacy of our own casita, complete with a solar heated pool and high speed interet. The ONLY negative was a neighbor's dog, who would on SOME nights randomly bark loudly just enough to wake us up....but from all our exploring of the area, this was a pretty minor offense, and easily solved with ear plugs. Don't let that small detail keep you from experiencing this delightful town from the great luxury of this hillside casita. It's been the best possible way to experience authentic Mexican cultural while still having comforts and luxuries. It has truly been the best of both worlds!

Just Perfect in every way!

Beautiful casita and great pool. We enjoyed every minute and hated to leave. Lorri and Brad were just great hosts and the dogs are so sweet they should charge extra for them! The view is exquisite and the casita is perfect in every way.

Las Salvias Casita

Really enjoyed my stay here---good location, easy walking distance to town. The casita has everything for do it yourself living, incl. washer and dryer. Lorrie and her pals, Teddy and Dotty, will make you feel very welcome. Great little pool for late night

swims under the stars---private and secure. DB. Vanc. BC
