This amazingly silent first floor apartment faces the private courtyard of a typical Roman building and thanks to this, it is very, very quiet and safe.

Located just steps from the famous Campo dé Fiori farmers' and flowers' market, located just across from Navona Square. There are also some of the best restaurants and bars in Rome which will make it an excellent apartment for you and your family. Every morning you'll rise to Rome's best farmer's market and be walking distance from any sight you could wish to visit (Vatican 10 min, Roman Forum 15 min, Spanish Steps 15 min). This apartment is equipped with two glorious bedrooms (one with a European queen and the other with a European double) and en-suite bathrooms with showers, a living room with queen size sofa bed and dining table for 6. The elegant layered brick style ceiling that is visible through most of the apartment, is an added feature making for a memorable stay, while also giving the apartment a distinctly Roman touch. The open kitchenette allows you to showcase your excellent Italian cooking and make your vacation even more enjoyable. Every room has a large window and both bedrooms have a large wardrobe. All rooms have air-conditioning. Very safe and quiet location, as it is located in the beautiful courtyard of the historical building. Easy access, only 3-4 stairs to the front door.

About Giusy

I am Italian, born in Tuscany - Siena. I have lived in Rome and London. I purchased the apartment in Rome in 2000 and I have fully refurbished it twice (in 2000 and 2006). In the last few years I have made several updates including new furniture, air-conditioning units, new dryer, and so much more! I like investing in my property to make it more comfortable for my guests. I lived there for 3 years beginning in 2002 and loved every single day being able to walk everywhere and to sightseeing the beautiful Rome - which I consider an open-air museum.

Currently, I live and work in the U.S. - with my husband Stefano, who is also Italian.

Giusy purchased this apartment in 2000

Why Giusy chose Rome

I have always loved Campo dei Fiori in Rome. It is a beautiful square, where cars are not allowed. It has hosted a farmers' market every day since 1490! It is an open air museum, where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, coffee..for hours and hours...and just steps from the Vatican, the Colosseum, the Forum, Navona Square...I never needed to use a car while I lived in my Rome apartment.

What makes this apartment unique

I chose this loction because it is a quiet spot. Via dei Cappellari is a pedestrian street. The apartment is located in a private building with a court-yard which is a very beautiful setting. Thus it is quiet, secure, and private...yet steps from the most lively sights in Rome

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hello Giusy:

I can't thank you enough for the use of your apartment in Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Cory was wonderful. He was a delight and very thorough in reviewing everything we needed to know.

The location was PERFECT. We utilized the market, the food and wine shops, patissceria, flower stalls, and restaurants. If it weren't for visiting all the wonderful sites in the city we wouldn't have left the apartment or neighborhood.

You were a pleasure to work with in helping us arrange for our stay.

Let me know if you are in DC. Would welcome the chance to meet you.

Thanks again.

Perfect location and plenty of space

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with our two teenage boys and had a blast! We walked everywhere while in Rome and this apt. was central to all. The kids liked the modern decor, and while the lighting could have been brighter and the supplies more plentiful, we had a great time relaxing in the unit after a lot of walking. The washer/dryer was a huge convenience, as was the A/C. Bed comfort was OK, but we walked so much it didn't matter too much. Appreciate the fact that were were able to check in a bit early. Would recommend.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

There isn't much I can say about this apartment that hasn't already been said - great location, nice, clean apartment on a quiet street off the piazza.

But I want to tell a quick story about it: One night our hot water went out - right at the tail end of my wife's shower. I called the management company around 8:00 the next morning to see what they wanted me to do. We tried a few things but it still wasn't working. Sometime around 9:00 we left to go see the sights and I received an email around 11:00 or 12:00 that everything was good to go. I don't think I could've gotten fixed any faster if I were a licensed plumber.

If we go back to Rome, we will definitely look into staying here

Spacious Apartment + Location + Amenities = Perfect Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful, quiet, convenient apartment for three nights in April. This was our first experience renting an apartment in a foreign country, but it certainly will not be our last.

We really enjoyed the location, and thought the apartment was perfect for our needs and everything that we wanted to do. There was a grocery store within a five minute walk, a taxi stand and Piazza Navona were an easy walk, and Campo de Fiori was only steps away. We were able to walk most places from the apartment (Trastevere, Colosseum, Pantheon, etc.) except for those times when we felt like our feet were going to fall off!😆?The unit felt very secure because it was in a gated courtyard and in addition it had a high security lock on the front door. I highly recommend this apartment for two or three people traveling together.

Great 2 bedroom first floor flat in the heart of Campo de Fiore

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this flat with our two adult children. The place is tucked in on a little side street right off the piazza. We felt like locals living in Rome! We were able to walk everywhere but the Vatican and Colosseum. Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Trastevere, Piazza Navona were all with in easy reach. The place is accurately described and the pictures are correct. The AC worked great, and although we ate out every night, the kitchen was functional. My only suggestion would be for some better lighting in the master bathroom. Wifi was a great benefit too. If you have never stayed in Campo de Fiore I would definitely recommend you try it. Plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and gelato places. The open market is great to visit each day too. When I return to Rome, this flat is going to be my first choice.

Perfect in almost every way

  • 5 of 5

This place is a gem. Great location. Well stocked. Responsive management. Very quiet but we never felt like we needed to be quiet in the unit. This was important as we had a 13 and 11 year old with us and we were constantly coming and going. The AC and everything else just worked. We used the transportation service they recommended and it too was excellent and worth the price. Two small things that could have been better but by no means impacted the journey: 1) I used PayPal but it didn't work through vrbo so I had to directly pay (using PayPal). No big deal. However I kept getting notifications from vrbo saying payments were due when I had already paid. 2) The trash at the building is rather complex in that it needs to have separation of organic, bottles, et cetera. It sounded rather ridiculous if you had noticed the trash in the nearby Campo. Tourists don't separate trash there and they create A LOT of rubbish. That's the only gripe. It's lovely. Highly recommend. It was a great value and created natural yet expansive boundaries for the kids to explore on their own. With two private rooms and a comfy hide-a-bed in a common room it worked perfectly for us.

Owner's Response: Thanks for reviewing your stay, Kevin. It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. Yes, rubbish at buildings is taken seriously unfortunately not everyone follows the rules. Also, I believe VRBO has stopped using PayPal as a payment option since it was causing so many problems.

Wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

The location was great. We walked to the Colosseum and the Vatican, both less than 30 min. away and to wonderful restaurants in Piazza Navonna less than 5 minutes away as well as the bridge to Trastavere 10 min away. There were several bakeries and mini markets in the neighborhood too. The apartment was exactly as pictured and very quiet. We liked having a washer and dryer to use as well. When we come back to Rome, we would definitely book the Cunningham again.

Best location in Rome: Walking distance to any of the main attractions, restaurants, bars, shopping. Most central location in Rome! Yet very quiet location. I bought the apartment because I could sleep so well in the private courtyard off Campo dei Fiori.

Like many streets in the area, Via dei Cappellari gets its name from the profession of a number of its inhabitants, in this case the “hat-makers.” The palace where the apartment is located (Number 13) was owned by The Tebaldeschi family who owned various palazzi in the street and whose coat of arms, a rose, can still be seen on the Via dei Cappellari no. 13. The area is full of Rom's rich culture and history, too! For example, the building opposite my building, the one with the loggia and tower, was once owned by the Tebaldeschi Family - a well known Roman family. In addition, the Italian poet Pietro Trapassi, aka Metastasio, was born in the flat just under the arch in via dei Cappellari (no. 29) just down the street. There is a plaque which marks this historical fact.
