Cozy cabin with 3 BR, 1½ BA, is situated on the South Fork of the Provo River in Vivian Park, with incredible views of the back of Mt. Timpanogos. This is a gorgeous area, just minutes from Provo/Orem and Sundance Resort. A short five minute walk to a park with a large children’s fish pond, the station for the “Heber Creeper” RR, and the trailhead for the Provo River Parkway. Very peaceful area.

We had a great stay. Location is great, only 15 minutes to get to BYU campus. Things are a little dated and cramped but you can’t beat being right there at Vivian Park with water running right in the back yard.
Cozy and family fun!
Our recent stay at the Cottage in Provo Canyon was cozy and unique. It is not a stark and sterile hotel for sure! This place has a lot of charm and character.
I needed a place for our west coast families to meet, share dinner, and Christmas gifts with grandchildren, since we were traveling in from Pennsylvania. We stayed before Christmas because some of the family had to move on to other Holiday events.
I was glad to rent the cottage so close to a ski area for my kids, and in such a beautiful canyon with many attractions nearby. I knew we were asking a lot because they had to come and open it up, since they had closed it for the winter. But we were running out of options and time and I loved the idea of a fireplace. Their was plenty of wood in the shed.
I was glad I bought thick socks for the women for gifts because the floor back in the bedrooms was a bit cold. We kept the fire going and it was fine with the baby and kids on the living room floor.
I would rent this place again in warmer weather for sure. There is a park, fishing, and hiking nearby. We took some family pictures outside, by the cottage and fireplace behind the building.
It was plenty warm at night with the electric beds. There was plenty of kitschy things to enjoy, most of which I put up before the grandchildren came to visit. (keeping them safe from little hands.) We had a great family dinner, and breakfast for 13 plus people. Six slept here and the others came up from Orem, which was a 10 minute drive. They had plenty of towels, and bedding. The kitchen was very stocked with every need accommodated. The frig was large and the stove was unique and it worked. We didn't bake anything, but we did broil something.
The large room was great for visiting, playing games and relaxing by the fire. It snowed twice in the three days making it a lovely winter event.
The owners were nice and accommodating when we left early to our next place before another snow hit. All in all, we enjoyed it and would rent it again, but in warmer weather. The windows are single pained and most bedrooms had a door to outside. This would be great for warmer weather, but a bit drafty at times. The heat worked well and we have no complaints.
We will look at this place again for another visit in warmer weather so we can fish with the grand-kids.
Cozy, comfortable and welcoming!
Our family of 7 celebrated Thanksgiving at the cabin and had a wonderful time doing so! Loved the location! The cabin was clean, well stocked and had lots of character. We want to go back again soon!
Our family of 5 stayed in this cabin for four nights December 2016. Georgia was very easy to deal with for booking. My kids loved how retro the cabin was. It had everything we needed; plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, etc. It is very well stocked. Short drive to Sundance and Provo/Orem. The cabin is in a very quiet setting. Woodshed was well stocked and there was paper, kindling, lighter, and wood ready for us when we arrived. The weather was cold during our stay, but each bed has an electric blanket so everyone slept very comfortably. BBQ was easily accessible and worked great. Some things to note; there is only 1 shower, but half of us showered at night the others in the morning and we always had plenty of hot water. There is no disposal on the kitchen sink which is not a problem if you know that. I just did the dishes myself so my kids didn't put anything down the drain. Two dumpsters are right across the street which was very convenient. The oven/stove is old but works great. It was very clean and roomy. We would stay here again. Great place especially for the price!
Perfect location for outdoors adventure and visiting Provo/BYU
First of all, a big thanks to Georgia, the owner, for going out of her way to accommodate us on our arrival. Excellent response time!!!!
The cabin itself is a wonderful throwback, and I loved the older, but fully functional appliances. Very cozy, and the heater works very quickly, keeping us comfortable all night. AC not needed at all, even in August. Did not get a chance to use the fireplaces, but they would be great fun, especially the outdoor one in back, right on the river. As noted in other reviews, the river here is contained in a concrete channel, so no swimming or anything, but it sounds awesome at night as you go to sleep.
Less than ten minutes to Sundance, with mountain bike trails and an incredible zip line tour! Ten minutes to BYU, where my daughter was starting college this weekend. The cabin still feels like it is far away from town though. Heber Valley Railroad stop is walking distance, as is the park and fishing pond.
FYI Master bath has no shower, so only one shower in the cabin. Had no problem with hot water. Plenty of pots and pans, towels, dishes, and everything you need. SO MUCH better than hotels for a stay in the Provo area. Highly recommend.
Wonderful place to stay. I rented this for a week while my parents were in town. I have 3 year old twins and a 5 year old. The yard was perfect for them. We had to move some things up high to ensure that the kids didnt get into them.
Nice walking distance to the park and bridal veil falls.
There is no AC but it is not needed. The house stays cool throughout the day. I would recommend long sleeves and sweats for the mornings if you are going outside right away like my kids did.
Bring your children's bikes/scooters if they have them. The driveway has two entrances so they can ride around in circles and down the street as there are not that many houses along the road.
The kitchen comes stocked with some supplies, left over food items, etc. there is only a shower in case you needed a tub.
You will love the character of the house. It is not really updated, but it doesnt matter.
The property is directly across from the two garbage dumpsters on the road. It did not smell or attract flies/animals. It was very conveinent since we usually had stuff throughout the day to toss.
it would have been great if you could access the water behind the house, but given the plot i dont think it would be possible without some work. A fence with an unlockable gate separates the patio from the water. We loved falling asleep to the running water.
Bugs/mosquitos were not really an issue at all.
Any minor issues that were brought up throughout our stay were very quickly addressed by the owners.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay and would come back.
