Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Office, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 4-10)

Our secluded mountain log home is a throw back to the real Colorado before strip malls, traffic jams, and light pollution. Here your vacation starts with a dead-on unobstructed view of majestic 12,900 ft Mt Sopris as it towers 6,800 ft (Americas greatest vertical) above the top-ranked adventure town of Carbondale.

The secluded 5 acre mountainside property delivers solitude, relaxation, and the convenience of a short 5 minute drive to town. From the wrap-around deck, you will feel enveloped and embraced by a thick green pine forest without a neighbor in sight. At night, enjoy the full splendor of the Milky Way or a moonlit Mt. Sopris from our private hot tub retreat tucked away in the forest.

Just like the first settlers of the Roaring Fork Valley, you will be bedding down in a rustic log home. But unlike those hearty soles, you will have all the modern conveniences like high speed internet, hi-def TVs, and modern Viking equipped kitchen. The 2000 sq ft home feels spacious with upstairs and downstairs living rooms and an elegantly appointed rustic modern interior. Enjoy family time on our cozy leather couches, retreat to the office for a read, watch the kids play ping pong in the garage, or retire to our western log beds with new linens.

Sure…you could spend a fortune to stay ski in ski out in Aspen but why…the real charm of Colorado is a short drive down valley and the views better. We hope to have you as our guests.

AREA -If you are not familiar with Carbondale-its a Colorado gem. The historic quaint downtown has great dining, funky bars, and maintains its colorado cowboy roots- no strip malls or Vail attitude here. Carbondale is at a crossroads which makes for great exploring- in 3 hours your in Moab, 2 hours Crested Butte, 1 hour Vail, or just head up 30 min to Aspen for the culture. 10 minutes to Glenwood hot springs, 5 minutes to Carbondale.

AMENITIES- The home has a very well appointed kitchen with master, guest room, 2 full baths, laundry, living room and a large deck upstairs; two bedrooms, separate bath, 55' & 47' new high def TVs, laundry and outside patio downstairs; and a large two-car garage. Hot tub.

Great property with great views

  • 5 of 5

The vacation home was perfect for our trip with five adults and three kids. The floor layout easily accommodates multiple families, as there are two bedrooms on one floor and two bedrooms and an office on another. The views from the deck and the hot tub are spectacular. We would definitely stay here again if we were going to the Carbondale-Aspen area.

Amazing Property with a Great Host

  • 4 of 5

The log home is wonderful! Todd was very responsive to any messages I sent and kept us updated with anything we needed to know before we arrived on the property. After a day of hard snowboarding the thing we always wanted to do was relax in the hot tub.

The only thing holding this back from a 5 star is that the bathrooms were a little plain (no trash can in the bathrooms) and the beds were a tad stiff upstairs.

Perfect spot in the mountains! Plus one of our greatest wildlife moments ever!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the house. Plenty of room. More than we needed, really. Beautiful view. Plus great outdoor spaces. The hot tub patio was very nice as well. Close to town, but very secluded too. Highlight of our entire trip happened 3 hours after we got there. Wife and I were enjoying a cocktail out by the hot tub (our first of the evening... not a hallucination, I swear!)... Wife looks up and says, "That's a mountain lion." I turned around and sure enough, a mountain lion walked right behind us through the trees. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Extremely rare to ever get a glimpse of one. We were incredibly lucky! Obviously I wouldn't count on that happening again, but it made our trip!

Also, owner was very helpful and made several great recommendations.
