About Amy Sage
My name is Amy Sage. I established the first vacation rental home in the Bitterroot Valley with the SweetSage Guest House in 1999. As a stay-at-home mother of three children ages 8-17, I have gradually expanded my vacation rental business to manage other nearby properties while still allowing myself to be home for my family. I am dedicated to providing my guests with the best the Bitterroot has to offer with clean, quiet, private surroundings and all the comforts of home.
Amy Sage purchased this House in 1995
Why Amy Sage chose Victor
I purchased the SweetSage Guest House property 18 years ago mainly for its unique location providing privacy and close proximity to outdoor recreation and wildlife.
What makes this House unique
We love to hike in summer or cross country ski in winter right from the house. We also enjoy seeing the abundance of birds and wildlife.

Very quite and comfortable. The view is spectacular.
Just spent two weeks at Sweet Sage Guest House. I would go back and recommend it to any one who wants to get away for it all. Amy was very accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. House was fully equipped with all the comforts of home. Our son and his family joined us. There was plenty of room for all.
We enjoyed sitting on front porch and watching the deer in field. We all hiked up the mountain and found it to be a great hike.
My husband and I lived in Montana for 11 years and this place felt like coming home. Thank you Amy for sharing your lovely home with us.
SweetSage cabin stay
We enjoyed our stay at SweetSage- the view, the location and the cabin! Fully equipped kitchen and lovely decor. Driving thru farm country towards the mountains to a beautiful and relaxing stay at the sweetsage guest house was a perfect setting for our western Montana vacation.
Lovely cozy getaway!
We stayed at the end of July for a family wedding and loved this sweet home. Very clean and cozy! Super relaxing with a great hike right down the road. Really spacious rooms and wide open living space with a well equipped kitchen! We loved sitting on the porch in the evenings and would definitely stay again!
The house and the setting are beautiful and relaxing. Almost every room has windows that bring the outside into the house. The layout is spacious and intuitively efficient. The appointments and furnishings are lovely and in keeping with the log cabin character of the house.
We stayed for 11 nights. Some days we stayed in and just kicked back, and many days we explored the area and hiked on the many trails in the valley. The house has lots of help with books about hikes and trail maps.
Although we went out to dinner a few times, more than on other vacations, we cooked because the kitchen was great, and it was just so pleasant to eat at "home."
The owner Amy couldn't be nicer or more helpful. She's a wonderful mixture of being available if you need her but never intrusive if you just want to be left alone. Her sheep and goats often come over to the guesthouse property and happily graze on the grass. The goats are a hoot as they try to grab branches on some of the trees by propping themselves up on the trunks.
This is one of the loveliest houses we've rented. It's someplace you could actually live and be content. I strongly recommend it.
Home Away from Home
We wanted a place to rest and relax and this was it.Great quite location, hiking trails right out the door. We hauled our Harley's over with us and had amazing rides and with a garage to park them in it was wonderful. (Lolo pass is a must) I love to cook and the kitchen had everything I needed which was really nice. We stayed for 10 days and I wish it had been more. The home has a true awe factor when you walk in the door. If we are back in this area again this is where I want to stay!
"Dream come true"
We stayed 2 weeks in the Sweetsage Guest House and enjoyed every bit of it. The house is lovely and more spacious than we thought. The area is stunning and we enjoyed the owners friendly hospitality.
We travelled to the Bitterroot Valley to go fly fishing - the location was perfect for the various rivers in the area. We enjoyed all of what nature had to offer - beautiful scenery and good wildlife sightings - just great!
