This house was a very good fit for our group. The three bedrooms were cute and comfortable and the air conditioners worked extremely well in getting the oppressive northeast humidity out of the house. The two bathrooms also helped in getting the group ready for our various outings throughout the Boston area.
And all the outings were very close due to the location of the house. Everything was within 20 minutes or less. Let's face it, if you want the convenience of a good sized home with all the amenities then this is your destination.
Very cosy house. Great surroundings. Everything you need at walking distance. Attentive hosts. Our family of six had a great time, really felt at home. Thank you.
Stayed here for two weeks with a family of four and the location is perfect , 5 mins walk to green Street station for easy access to Boston city centre without the need to have a car also easy access to major highways to travel further afield to cape cod , wrentham outlets by car.
Property was also perfect for our needs and had everything to ensure an enjoyable vacation and at a similar cost to staying at a hotel we were so happy to have rented this house and will be back. The owners were also very nice and on hand if required for advice .
Great place if you want to be close to transportation. It is on a very noisy street. Constant traffic. The house is very old and amenities are lacking. The house was very clean:)). Owner was nice and on premises.
Have recently returned to the UK from a fantastic two week family holiday in Boston. This property is exactly how it looks from the photographs and was ideal for our party of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Very clean and well appointed, although we didn't use the kitchen other than for breakfast (there are too many nice places to eat in Boston!) Washing machine and dryer in the basement were very welcome, especially as we were there during a heatwave! Owners Stephen and Patrick live next door and are very welcoming and helpful if you need to ask anything. Great location, only a few minutes walk from Green Street subway station and from there just a few stops into the centre of Boston. About 10 minutes walk in the other direction are the local Jamaica Plain shops, including CVS Pharmacy, which sells so much more than you'd think and was great for stocking up on bread, milk and cereals. Two attractions within walking distance not to be missed are the Samuel Adams Brewery tour (we've since found our local supermarket back home in England stocks Samuel Adams Boston Lager) and a stroll round the very picturesque Jamaica Pond. For travelling into Boston, the Charlie Cards are excellent value, unlimited subway travel (plus the inner harbour ferry) for $19 for 7 days - you can buy the passes from the ticket machines at Green Street station. So much to see, we took five days to complete the Freedom Trail (we did look at everything in great detail!). other highlights were a tour of Fenway Park and a baseball game (even though the Red Sox lost), a tour of the house JFK was born in (it's tucked away on the Green Line at Coolidge Corner but well worth a visit, also Revere Beach and Salem were great days out. Can thoroughly recommend both Boston as a holiday destination and this property to stay in. Thank you Stephen and Patrick!
We just returned from an extended weekend stay in Boston. My husband and I were looking for a place we could stay with our friends (another couple) and our son who was just returning to Boston from an internship abroad. This place was perfect! The house was clean, reasonably priced and conveniently located just a short walk to the T. The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed making a leisurely breakfast each morning before heading out to explore the city. Having not seen our son in 5 months, we were able to visit with him here, without crowding into an expensive hotel room. We even cooked out on the gas grill a couple of nights and enjoyed the summer evenings in the yard. The owners were out of town during our stay, but they left an organized notebook with information on the house and the area, including the phone number of their handyman. Air conditioner window units kept the house comfortably cool. Beds were comfortable, though one of the double beds was a little creaky as were the floors, but that is to be expected in an older home. We would definitely recommend this place, especially if traveling with others. It offers a great opportunity for small groups to spend time together. Thanks Stephen & Patrick!
We located 10 minutes from down town Boston, it is a 15 minute car ride to Rte. 95 or Rte 93 with access to Mass Pike within 15 minutes. Zipcar is a convenient car-sharing service that has cars within a 5 minute walk from the house.
