Fantastic vacation on Amelia Island

  • 5 of 5

We can 't speak highly enough about this place. Pam was incredibly gracious and helpful when we needed it but very respectful of our privacy. The ocean was just a walk through the sand dune and location to other interesting places was perfect. It was like living in our own home, providing us with everything we could possible need. The apartment is on the first floor with an outside patio. While there are no ocean views from where you sit, you just have to take about 20 steps and you're there!

Even though there are other apartments in this house we NEVER heard anyone! There was an umbrella and beach chairs at our disposal, more beach towels than we could've used in a month :) and even use of a washer/dryer (which we didn't even use). This was great since we were limited to how much our suitcases could weigh from flying.

This house is just a couple of miles from this lovely, historic upscale town with great restaurants, stores, and a boat launch for eco-tours. We didn't get to go on ours because it rained late afternoon just about every day we were on the Island. Don't miss driving or biking through Fort Clinch State Park. Within 15 minutes we saw an alligator, a coyote crossing the road, deer and a Roseate Spoonbill. The American Beach museum was an important historical place to visit with a short video and memorabilia of the man responsible for this wonderful community. The drive to Timacua and the preserve was also worth the trip. You won't regret your stay here! WE can't wait to explore more on our next trip to Pam's place on Amelia Island. Thank you, Pam for sharing your lovely home!

Fernandina Beach cottage

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing week in this 2 bedroom, 1 bath ground floor apartment in a cottage directly on a private beach. Nicely furnished and well kept, this location is minutes away from historic downtown Fernandina and many fantastic local restaurants.

Old Florida, Yes!

  • 5 of 5

Mature, single woman had a delightful 2 months stay in this cozy, relatively secluded apartment. Rarely locked the door. The many south facing windows are wonderful. If you are looking for high-falooting this isn't your place. If your looking for a comfortable fun place on the ocean with "old Florida" charm this is it. Owners who live above couldn't have been better. I hope to come back.

Best Vacation Ever

  • 5 of 5

This is the most relaxing place I've ever been. The apartment is just perfect for a beach cottage - I walked in and immediately felt at home. You have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. It's so peaceful -- not the typical noise found in an oceanside community. Great restaurants nearby and downtown historic Fernandina is a short drive. If you go, make sure you visit Fort Clinch and the other historic sites.

Relaxing Home-Away-From-Home

  • 5 of 5

This is an excellent vacation home-away-from-home. The house is a wonderful beach house in a quiet area and has all of the necessities. There's a lot to do in Historic Fernandina and the surrounding area. A neighbor recommended Cedar River Seafood and it was excellent. We also enjoyed the Salty Pelican. St. Mary's, Georgia is a short drive to the north. We can't wait until we can go here again!
