This house was designed and built by Murdock and Mary Ellen MacPherson in 1978. Murdock developed Sandy Hook Yacht Club and saved the best lot for his family vacation home. The MacPherson family has since grown to include children and grandchildren who all contribute to it's evolving character. We are all very excited to share this fantastic property and adventure with you!
The picture above is us cooking and making a big family meal in the kitchen. Something we love to do as a family!
Mimi purchased this house in 1976
This lovely beachfront house is located on Cultus Bay. Enjoy a beautiful array of sunsets over the Olympic mountains, wild life, sea life and the beauty of Puget Sound anytime of the year. The house is furnished and equipped to handle any type of vacationing; from the romantic weekend getaway to the summertime family vacation.
While you feel tucked away in quiet community, you are close to shops and restaurants, 10 minutes away from the Mukilteo-Clinton Ferry, the drive time to downtown Seattle is 1 hour IF you time the ferry and you have no traffic. So plan 1 1/2 hour still depends on traffic!
You can't get any closer to the water! The beach and Puget Sound just steps away from the house, you will find breath taking sunsets, views of Puget Sound and the beach.
Relax on the large entertaining deck overlooking the beach, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Enjoy incredible sunsets while you roast marshmallow's at the fire pit!
Very comfortable house with a deck facing Puget Sound. Great views of the Olympics. Fun to have a pool table. Well stocked kitchen and home. My elderly parents loved sitting on the deck or in the living room watching the water. Highly recommend.
I invited my stepdaughters, daughter and daughter-in-law to join me for a weekend at this wonderful home. There were 7 of us.
We had a FANTASTIC time. The house was SO well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, puzzles, bocci ball, a pool table...so many fun things to do including walks and walks and whale watching from the deck...long talks around the fire pit. I could go on.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I was expecting 10 beds and didn't realize that 4 of them were in an attic with a VERY low ceiling at the top of a tiny spiral staircase. The door to (we called it) granny's attic required stooping or crawling to enter which made it tricky to get out and down. Luckily we had a couple young spry women who found it fun and cozy so it turned out fine but I would say that would be a good thing to know in advance in case you had older less flexible folks in your group.
that was the only thing that was not utterly fantastic.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us. Victoria
This home exceeded our expectations!!! The accommodations were homey and comfortable!
We were able to comfortably sleep 8 for our family reunion. The kitchen was well stocked with spices! We had many good meals, walks in the wetlands when the tides went out, and swims at the community pool. The views were OUTSTANDING! I highly recommend this well appointed property for your next vacation.
We've rented VRBO for the past 10 years. This was the cleanest place we've found. The owner was very accommodating. Thanks for a great experience.
We had a wonderful time at Mac's Landing. The house was as nice as advertised and our 7 person family had plenty of room. We enjoyed how open the rooms were to each other so even if you are cooking in the kitchen, you're still part of the entire crew. The only thing we'd change for next year... staying longer than 5 days. Thank you Mimi.
Other Activities: parasailing, shuffleboard, boating, shopping, kayaking, wildlife viewing, basketball, tennis, wine tasting, liqueur tasting, festivals in Langley, crabbing, swimming.
