We are a family of five who enjoys traveling. We have been visiting La Palma for more than 10 years now and with becoming the owners of this bodega, a dream has come true.

Peace and Quiet
The property is tucked away in the hills. There are some very steep roads to get to it, so a robust car is recommended and it is a good idea to mark the location, once there, on your sat nav as the property is not easy to find until you get familiar with the roads. The bonus of the bone shaking drive, is the stunning quiet location with beautiful views. Great location for walking, with a number of marked trails outside the gate.
The property is small but well equipped with utensils, etc. I would recommend stocking up on food at a bigger supermarket on the way from the airport. There are a couple of small shops in Puntagorda though, if you forget anything.
It has a wood burner for chilly nights and air conditioning for hot days.
The property is set in lovely grounds with stunning views across to the sea. It’s isolation means you get amazing starry skies at night.
All in all a lovely place to unwind and recharge your batteries.
Perfect little mountain lodge.
I have been to La Palma four times, and my only regret is that I didn't find this place the first time round. Hands-down the best place I have seen. Situated just off a lovely mountainside country road that winds through vineyards and almond trees, at about 1200m, it is an ideal retreat for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and anyone who needs to escape for a week or two. It's an open-plan conversion with a wooden floor/ceiling addition to make a loft-bedroom, and has all the kit you need - wood-burning stove, solar heated water, oven and so on – and also a lovely patio for stargazing. Somehow, it manages to be both modern and rustic - whoever fitted it out has great taste. It is perfect for solo or couples - or even a family if you don't mind sleeping downstairs on the settee.
I will be back if they'll have me. Wonderful!
A perfect retreat with a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere
La Bodega is a perfect retreat, set amongst pine forests & vineyards, with spectacular views looking down to the ocean. There is a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere at the casa & in the surroundings & it is great place to relax & unwind, especially with no WiFi or TV, although the good phone signal means you’re not totally isolated.
The property appears small but is very spacious, with various outside seating areas & a table on the terrace to enjoy breakfast or a meal. The open plan kitchen, living/dining area has everything you need, the large bedroom in the eaves is accessed by the ladder type stairs & kept cool by effective air conditioning or should it get chilly, there is a modern log burner. The shower is hot & powerful.
The grounds have and are still in the process of being landscaped and planted and are starting to mature nicely. We enjoyed almonds, figs, apples and plums fresh from the trees and the La Palma wine and oranges, kindly left for us.
If you enjoy hiking this is the place to come, with paths outside the gate leading to well-marked trails all over the island. La Palma itself is very scenic, with good roads despite being very twisty & a varied landscape, with vineyards, bananas plantations, forests, mountains, volcanoes and of course ocean views.
Our stay at La Bodega was at the beginning of October & the weather was warm & sunny. Prior to our holiday the owner had been helpful & quick to respond to our enquiry & on arrival the caretaker Pascal, who was very friendly & informative, met us at the Ressol garage in Puntagorda from where we followed him on the direct route (about 10 minutes) to the property, via very steep (first gear), narrow roads. However, we did find a longer but more car & driver friendly route at the junction just at the bottom of the road from La Bodega, which will take you to the main road, either just south of Puntagorda by turning left or to Briestas to the north, when turning right.
We had a fantastic, memorable week in La Bodega & would thoroughly recommend it.
Perfect house with spectacular views
We really enjoyed our stay at the bodega. Small, but has everything you need. You can watch the sunset and the stars. Theresa was very helpfull. We arrived in the dark and her husband showed us the way to the bodega and explained everything. You need a car to get there, road is a bit steep. quiet and remote Location with spectacular views. Just amazing!!!
We loved this cottage which was set in the most beautiful surroundings where we could enjoy the sunsets and the starry skies. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with a dining and lounge area with a wood burner to warm the place up when needed.
We stayed here a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would certainly recommend this place and would love to return to it at a future date.
If you love nature, and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, then you will love this little abode. It's situated way off a main road, up high, ~1200m above sea level so it really is peaceful and quiet. Our host met us at the Repsol petrol garage and lead us up the off-the-beaten-track which was great because it was a maze, take note of the turns because we went wrong once and it can lead to a dirt track. We stayed mid-late April so lots of flowers and plants in bloom which was really pretty. Where the property is situated, you can go on hikes, for example up to Roque de los Muchachos, the highest point of La Palma, where the astronomical observatory is. You can witness some amazing sunsets, it really is spectacular and an image I will hold for a long long time. You can also have amazing views of the night sky from the house, the sky is lit with thousands of stars, easily visible because of the low light pollution. It gets cold at night, but the built in fire place is excellent and warms up the place in no time. The upstairs bit can get hot, but there is air con, so we always felt comfortable.
The beds were comfortable and clean. The property is very well equipped with all the cooking utensils you need. You can cook up quite a storm, having lots of herbs growing in the surrounding garden and spices supplied in the kitchen. Generally the place is very clean.
I would recommend going to the big Lidl by the airport to get your food supplies and Las Pinas restaurant, just passed the Repsol gas station, just after you turn off the busy road up to the Bodega.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it to other nature-loving people.
