We have lived in this house for 20 years and now our kids have grown up and moved to USA we use part of it as a vacation rental! We converted it 5 years ago. We love the area; it is so vibrant and fun and so accessible to every area. Once you've visited you wont want to be in any other part of town!
Bunty and Ian Ross purchased this apartment in 1990
. A true oasis awaits every time you return from your bustling day in London Centre. We loved the garden apartment provided by Bunty and Ian. With lots of glass and light, The space is beautiful, the kitchen and appliances easy to use, modern, and spotless. The Tube is a 10 min. walk and easy to navigate to the Center of London . Prepare for a steep staircase to the upstairs bedroom which became a breeze after a couple of days. The view and fresh air were both invigorating and calming. Bring your own amenities for the bathroom, and you will be happy and cheerful in this light and and bright flat. We were truly relaxed and comfortable after our long days, feeling like it was our own home. I will definitely be back!! Bunty and Ian were fabulous and reliable in every way. We will definitely look forward to staying here again!
What a lovely apartment awaited us when we visited our son who lived eight doors away. Bunty and Ian were very hospitable and a lovely couple. We are bad sleepers back home but slept wonderfully in a very comfy bed. Loved the kitchen as I had to prepare the vegetables for Christmas lunch and I had everything I needed and more at my fingertips. It just felt like we were coming "home" every time we opened the front door. Can highly recommend it and it was so close to buses going to White City (Westfield) and into Oxford Circus and Latimer Road tube station was a seven minute walk,
We agree with all the positive reviews below. This flat is bright, even on a cloudy day. It is spacious and it was spotless. The décor is absolutely charming and it has been fitted out with highest quality appliances, shower etc. Couldn't have wished for more. It is a quiet oasis near a buzzing part of London. Ian and Bunty couldn't have been more helpful on the very few occasions we had questions. We hope it is available the next time we are in London.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in London staying at this apartment. The flat is bright and clean, the location perfect for tube travel, and the hosts gracious and welcoming. I recommend this rental to anyone who want a peaceful escape from the extravagance that is London.
I don't even know how to start my review because there are so many wonderful things I want to mention first! The bedroom is perfect. The blackout blinds are great for sleep or for midday naps, and the bed is so comfortable it's hard to drag yourself out. The downstairs area is great for having a small group over for dinner and a movie or game night (I found scrabble in a cabinet as well as several other games which made my day)! The kitchen is also great. Better than my kitchen at home! I looked forward to cooking meals and taking advantage of all that was available. The garden is so charming and beautiful. It's probably one of my favorite parts of the apartment because with the massive windows you can look out and see squirrels or birds while you enjoy your morning coffee. There are rose hips and pears growing in the garden, and you get a special satisfaction cooking with homegrown ingredients. The location is very convenient. Half a block away there is a mini market, bakery, and cafe/deli (which is DELICIOUS), so you don't have to stray far when you need something. A little further down and you get to Portobello Road where you can get fresh produce or find an amazing vintage piece. The owners were very kind and helpful. When you're unsure about how something works, odds are that there is a helpful note not too far away explaining what you should and shouldn't do. If you're not familiar with the area, don't be afraid to ask for tips, they're so accommodating and sweet! Highly recommend this place to almost every kind of person.
This is a lovely apartment well situated near public transportation and Portobello Road. It has many interesting architectural features, including a sensational second-floor bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, a well-equipped and laid-out kitchen, and comfortable living room with loads of light all around. To top it all off, there's a small garden out back framed by French doors. The owner was charming and well organized. She warned us about construction going on next door, which was not too much of an issue and mostly our stay was very quiet and pleasant. We had a wonderful week in the apartment and highly recommend it to all.
