Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

We are booked at the cabin and not taking anymore reservations for 2017.

HOWEVER, we have acquired a second property (VRBO 859721), which we call our "Timber Lodge Classic Cottage", on the same lake with many of the same amenities and excellent service. Pets are welcomed at the cottage. PLEASE CHECK OUR CLASSIC COTTAGE OUT FOR YOUR VACATION GETAWAY.

Enjoy this beautiful secluded log cabin on over 5 acres of wooded property, built in 2008, located on a beautiful 400 acre lake just minutes from Rhinelander. The Amenities include full kitchen with lots of room for all to enjoy cooking, large great-room overlooking the wonderful lake, entertainment center (including DirecTV), three private bedrooms with full beds, two full bathrooms and a third half-bath. Enjoy the sunrise in the loft, which features a bathroom, full bed and a twin bed with a TV and intendo system, overlooking the lake.

The lower level has a private bedroom, half bath, a small pool table, some exercise equipment, and a full laundry.

One of the best features is the completely private secluded 5.5 acre lot. This cabin is tucked away deep into the thick woods surrounded by wild-life and birds galore. There are no other houses nearby. If you enjoy fishing, you’ll love it here. This lake is an excellent Musky, Northern, Bass (Large and Small Mouth, and Rock), and pan fish lake. The large mouth bass are plentiful and always hungry. The cabin rental includes pier and small 12’ aluminum fishing boat with 4 hp motor. If you have your own boat, there is a boat launch close by. Pontoon Boat rental, including delivery, is available from a Marina in Rhinelander. It is also a great ice-fishing lake.

There is a huge deck with plenty of lounging or sunbathing area and large gas grill. A picnic table for 8, on a concrete pad, allows for a peaceful picnic lunch. You’ll be secluded in the deep north woods but only minutes from the city conveniences. The grocery store, restaurants, movie theatre, bait shop, liquor store, bowling alley, library, and much, much, more are only a couple of minutes car ride away.

We had a wonderful family vacation with our children and grandchild. FISHING, fire, swimming, shopping, cooking, baking, movies and just being together.

Great Vacation in Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

We rented through VRBO. Bob replied to our inquiry right away.

We started booking that week. Bob was always kind and quick with all communications.

We got there right around 3PM on our arrival day. The house was perfect.

Everything was clean and in great shape.

The kitchen was freshly done with all stainless steel appliances, marble countertops and beautiful cabinets. So, the pictures on here are old.

We only used the dishwasher, fridge and microwave....we ate out every day. Those 3 things worked perfectly.

The 3 bathrooms were also newly remodeled.

All bedrooms and beds were great.

We never turned on the tv but the WiFi worked amazing. never any issues!

The kids loved the song that the washing machine played when the load was complete. They would set a timer so they wouldn't miss it.

The owner provided enough wood for fires every day, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap with brush, some paper towels, some napkins, and some outdoor candles/bug spray. You never really know when renting on VRBO, this was a nice surprise to have all of these supplies.

We had an issue with a wasp nest under the boardwalk, 3 were stung on Saturday afternoon. We called Bob/Sue and within 2 hours on a Saturday during the Hodag Music Festival (everyone local attending) an exterminator was out. Nick spent almost 2 hours getting rid of the nest. They get 10 stars for caring about their guests.

The power went out in the entire area for about 2 hours one day. When power is out, no electricity and no water...so we went over to Buck Lake to swim until it was back on. The power company called us when it was fixed.

We fished on Lake Julia with a pontoon boat...never used Bob's boat. We caught bass and crappie. We are catch and release folks. We fished off the pier and caught many bluegills.

We saw deer driving in and out of Cranes Road.

I would highly recommend this place to everyone. It was perfect!!!!

Log Home in the Winter Woods

  • 5 of 5

This log home makes for the perfect winter getaway! Close enough to town to make a run to the market or experience the Rhinelander Supper Clubs or night-life. Set on the lake in the woods, ice fishing consumed the days, while at night, my group enjoyed the crackle of the fire on cold February nights! The addition of a pool table would make this place perfect!

Everything it's advertised to be and more

This place was fantastic. Roomy and comfortable and in a nice quiet area. The snow was finally good enough to go sledding this year. I would return here in a heartbeat.
