We fell in love with the mountains of North Carolina since first setting eyes on them!! We find that there is nowhere more suited to enjoying nature and family than the High Country.
Rosemary Stein purchased this house in 2009
Eagles Nest is truly a dream come true. If you can spend your time off here, why go anywhere else?
The amenities offered at Eagles Nest are truly incredible. The pavilion is a structure you would only see in movies. Having a simple lunch cooked to order outdoors awhile gazing at the gorgeous view is restorative!!
Afterwards walk down to the cliffside library and absorb the awesome panorama while you enjoy one of the hundreds of books available.
Then there is the 4 wheeling, the mountain biking, the ropes trail, disc golf, fishing, horse back riding, archery and so much more!!
The experience is so fantastic, it is difficult to describe!!
This was our second year returning to Sugar Mountain, NC to ski and this time we took some of our closest friends with us. Nine of us enjoyed this lovely home for a week and it could not have been more fun or sweet. This home is beautiful, comfortable, clean, well equipped, and super fun. From snowball fights in the front yard, to home cooked meals around a table that seated us all, pool and foosball competitions in the game room, roasted marshmallows around the fire, and evenings spent relaxing in the jacuzzi . . . I would rent this home again in a heartbeat. We took advantage of all it had to offer and we had a blast! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Hope to return next year!
Running waters lodge is a beautiful property with excellent amenities and a great location near Banner Elk.
had a wonderful time at this beautiful home... thank you!
Beautiful property. Were pleasantly surprised that the house was completely decorated for Christmas including a full sized tree. Will definitely return again for some mountain time!
Rosemary (the owner) was super sweet and accommodated us the same night due to hurricane evacuation. She made sure our weekend was a pleasure. The house is beautiful and the community is pretty enjoyable. This will only get better as some amenities are still under construction. Recommend this place to anyone that wants a pain free weekend and a gorgeous house at a reasonable price.
My wife and I were searching for a quick weekend getaway. Rosemary worked with us on short notice and we had a wonderful weekend on the mountain. We were awakened to a light and peaceful snow fall and we had the mountain to ourselves. The cabin is charming, warm, comfortable and provides the privacy and tranquility needed for a relaxing get away. Rosemary is great to work with, the cabin is wonderful and the property is a mountain play land! Running Waters lodge really has everything you need for a mountain adventure and/or get away!
