We have built a BRAND NEW comfortable secluded 1300 sq.ft. home in the volcano fern forest. We love spending time here for the quiet atmosphere, fireside experience and relaxed peaceful getaway feeling. We want to share it with you in hopes that you will find this too. This is the 'Big Island' and if you are visiting Kona, it's a long drive to circle the island in one day, so making a couple nights stay in the Volcano area at our place will be the ideal way to do it. Ask about our Kona rental as well.
There is so much to see and do at the Volcano National Park, not to mention visiting Hilo and the beaches there. Or just 'STAY OHIA' like we do to relax and enjoy the fern forest and quiet. Our place is full of the best that we always wanted in a get away cabin, such as pine walls, black granite counter tops, slate and tigerwood floors, stainless steel appliances and the latest in media entertainment, all the way from the old fashion record player to a large flat screen high definition tv, Ipod docking and the ability to see your computer on the tv for slide shows of your most recent trips.
FREE WIFI too!!
We are long time residents of Kona and are used to helping tourists have the best time while they're here so feel free to email us. All the best with your travels, Mike and Liz

About Liz Wright
My husband Mike works for a catamaran company in Kona. I have a professional cleaning business as a self employed owner for more than 20 years. I have lived in Kona for 40 years, originally from Vancouver, Canada, and Mike has been here for 26 years, originally from Oahu. We own our home in Kona and enjoy the volcano area when we can. If you are going to Kona, ask about our rental, 'STAY KONA' Mike Cabral and Elizabeth Wright
Liz Wright purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Liz Wright chose Ohia Estates
We love this area because it's so opposite from Kona. It's cool and country with beautiful fern forests all around. It's only 1 mile from the volcano village and 2 miles from the Volcano National Park entrance. Heading out to explore for the morning and returning for lunch is so easy. If you are going to Kona, ask about our rental, 'STAY KONA'
What makes this Cabin unique
I've always loved a 'real wood burning' fireplace and that is what we have at our spacious cottage style home. It's a warm comfortable atmosphere that allows us to enjoy the things we don't in the faster pace of Kona, like playing music, board games or just relaxing with good conversation. I do a bit of running and the neighborhoods are generally flat and free of roaming dogs.

Quiet, comfortable and beautiful oasis. Close to volcano national park and volcano village. Short drive to Hilo. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful home.
Great place, clean and cozy
We have enjoyed staying at this home twice now. We are 2 adults and one kid but it would also be great for two families. Beautiful wood floors and cabin decor, with all amenities. Close to Volcano village and the national park. But you may have a hard time leaving the house after the peaceful feeling of sitting outside listening to the sounds of the ohi’a forest.
Beautiful volcano home
The home was beautiful, in a secluded section of town. The place was very well equipped...even washer and dryer. A nice touch was the muffins for our first day...they were delicious. I would recommend this place if you want to be close to the vocano park...we were lucky to see lava activity in Kilauea Calder and being so close we viewed it at night...spectacular.
A lovely space
What a great little house! Great kitchen, well equipped. Comfortable beds and a wonderful great room to hang out in the evenings--complete with a small wood burning stove to take the chill off at night. We loved having morning coffee on the lovely covered back porch and listening to the birds. Liz is a very good host--thought of everything!! Mahalo
Clean and well equipped
Great well equipped cabin minutes from volcano National Park. Do your shopping before you arrive but Liz has everything else covered including helpful notes throughout the place telling you how things work. We got caught in an all day drownpour and had to cancel our planned hikes. Spend the day inside with a nice fire in the stove and watched the Olympics. Turned a bad day into a good one. Thanks Liz. We would rent again.
Wonderful cabin in the forest!
Well appointed cabin in the woods, comfortable beds and great access to volcano national park.
There is so much to see and do at the Volcano National Park, not to mention visiting Hilo and the beaches there. Or just 'STAY OHIA' like we do to relax and enjoy the fern forest and quiet. Hey! FREE WIFI!!!! Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, boating, wildlife viewing
