Enjoy the colorful sunsets and lake views from almost anywhere in this lovely, CLEAN, 3000 square feet contemporary home with 100 feet of waterfront. You'll love the blended exterior landscaping and the lodge-style decorator touches and furniture inside! The home features hickory and tile flooring, skylights, abundant windows, a loft, and three well-appointed bedroom suites, each with a theme. It is just a few steps from the water, complete with wrap-around covered decks, private boat dock with mooring, and a panoramic view toward the west. No long staircase to the water--just a few steps off lawn or deck onto the dock for weed free swimming. The spiral staircase connects the upper and lower decks for relaxation and sunning. Away from the sunny, open waterfront you'll find a shady lawn, a little garden, and large firs and pines. You might see a bear, deer, turkey or moose, or catch a fish from the dock. Inside and out, you'll love this vacation getaway!
Your beautiful, vacation home radiates brightness, warmth and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere inside and out. It features all the modern amenities including bright kitchen and breakfast bar, wood floors, large rock fireplace with entertainment center, large window and deck views, exposed beams, tiled baths, three bedroom suites, comfortable beds, and garaged parking. All the bedroom suites feature massive, custom log, Mexican alder, or Chilean wood furniture. All three suites have high end mattresses, and custom closets and baths. The house is full of log, leather and custom-carved pine furniture and is comfortable and very clean. You are furnished with all of the kitchen utensils and necessities that you will need. Whether you're a serious cook or just want to microwave, you should enjoy the kitchen with its lake and yard views, and the herb garden outside. And if you have to do some work or on-line research, we have wireless internet at your disposal. The satellite service features HD packages and local stations. This is our favorite spot, and we manage it ourselves to make sure you and your guests feel it's yours, too.
Lake Coeur d'Alene is one of Idaho's largest lakes - from the dock you can cruise up the lake with your boat 15-20 minutes to downtown, or take the 25-minute scenic drive by car on paved Highway 97. You can spend your whole vacation exploring this magnificent lake. Swimming is great from early or late June until the end of September; water temperatures normally peak just above 25C (75F). Our dock and beach are good for kids because there is a concrete ramp that goes part way out to about 3.5 foot depth. You can watch them close by from the dock or the decks, and the water is invitingly clear.
You can plan your day over morning coffee on the deck, even listen to music from the deck speakers. Many of our guests enjoy the area golfing at a dozen local courses ranging from lavish to pitch-and-putt. Others come to fish and boat. We have a great central location for fishing and there are many lovely, quiet mornings for water skiing. Some of you come to relax and soak up the views, the gentle sound of the waves, the shade of the lawn, or late Fall sunshine. Our main deck is built around a 100-year old pine, and there are sitting areas there and on the slate patio and upper deck for both sun and shade as the long summer days change. Winter and Spring are wonderful times here when there is a lot of game and few people and boats. It's a four seasons vacation area with four major downhill ski resorts within a one to two hour radius of the house.
Check-in/check- out day is Friday, with the exception of Ironman week. No smokers or pets. Shorter stays and lower rates available off-season.

We have been living in the beautiful Northwest since 1990. We love the outdoors, especially the biking trails, lakes and national forest areas. Driftwood Lodge is our favorite, and only guest house. Our goal is to facilitate pleasant, relaxing and unforgettable family experiences in a beautiful setting.
Tammye purchased this house in 2003
Lake Coeur d'Alene is a beautiful lake, surrounded by large forested areas, relatively undiscovered compared to other lakes of comparable size. We really enjoy maintaining this setting during the off-season when the lake changes rapidly.
We chose this property because it's in a beautiful treed setting right next to the water. The house has many beautiful features, including high ceilings, tall windows, a beautiful rock fireplace and built-in bookcases. Most guests really like the open floor plan of the house and all the windows which look over the water. Some magnificent sunsets have been photographed from our decks.
We maintain the grounds without commercial fertilizersand herbicides; our drainfield is off-site and recently constructed and permitted. Our heating and cooling systems are designed for maximum efficiency.
We appreciate your comments and sincerely hope you enjoyed your stay! Come back soon...
We returned to the Driftwood Lodge this year for another fabulous week. The home has been remodeled and is beyond gorgeous. The hospitality amazing.
The updated kitchen is a joy to prepare meals in - we easily made prime rib, salmon, homemade mac and cheese and grilled out several nights, too. Everything you need is available and makes prep, cooking and clean-up very easy. The rooms are comfy, cozy and perfect for kids and grown-ups. We sat out at night to watch shooting stars and spent the days playing in the warm water and boating the lake. This property is perfect!
Our family just returned home after a week at the Driftwood Lodge on Lake CDA. It was absolutely perfect. As others have mentioned, the pictures do not do the home and property justice - and the pictures are fabulous! The home is truly big, beautiful, cozy and warm all at the same time.
The kitchen has every thing you could need to prepare fancy meals and it's just as easy to throw some burgers on the grill. It's all at your fingertips. The bedrooms are gorgeous, well kept, with amazing views and roomy. We had fun playing games, reading books from the library, dancing to the music on satellite during the cooler days and jumping in the lake on the hot afternoons. Silverwood is an easy drive and boating around the lake is a must.
Start your day with a cup of coffee on the dock, end on the upper deck watching shooting stars or lightening storms while enjoying a glass of wine.
As we like to say, if you forget what day it is - it's been a very good vacation. We forgot what day it was the moment we arrived at the Driftwood Lodge. Thank you Tammye and Don for making it so memorable. We will be back.
We just stayed at this amazing property and have never had this kind of treatment before. Tammey goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable in her beautiful vacation home. From day one when I first contact Tammey to the end.
We where greeted with such a warm welcoming . A stocked kitchen, and a lot of little extras all over the house also. Every room had its own little touch. From magazines to games, condiments to bathroom extras. The location of the home was also perfect.
My family had the best vacation ever. They are all hoping to return. Thank you Tammey so much for your amazing gift of hospitality. We hope to see you again soon.
We had a small family gathering of seven people and this house was wonderful! We were all awed by the attention to detail, quality of the furnishings, well stocked kitchen and the setting, inside and out. The outside decks were perfect from morning coffee to evening wine. We had a great time and would recommend it highly. We'll be back!!
Wow! This home has everything! It was stocked with everything you could think of. Every bedroom was spacious and very comfortable and there's plenty of room for 2 families to relax, play and get time together and alone. We had such a wonderful week and hope to return. Thank you for sharing your home!
What a great place to spend a week!!
The house was everything promised and so much more. Immaculate, spacious, well laid out and stocked with more then expected. Our group consisted of 4 adults/4 children but we never felt crowded. Enjoyed many drinks and moonlight chats on the upper balcony, what a view!! Thanks so much for another great rental experience. If Italy doesn't work out summer of 2011 we will rent this home again.
