Medieval alleyways lined with half-timbered buildings are ideal for walks. Hikes in the surrounding Odenwald and Kraichgau, to the night life in the old town of Heidelberg, anything is possible. The forest is on the doorstep, the Neckar path leads through the Dilsberg Heidelberg to Bad Wimpfen. Hiking trails lead to the castles to Neckarsteinach (Odenwald nature reserve) to Neckargemünd historic center, the Heidelberg Castle and the Royal chair. The excellent train / bus connections (bus stop in front of the fortress) offers trips to Heidelberg, Mannheim, and the more the Neckar valley.
