Architectural Desert Hideaway. Modern & Close to Ntl Park

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This property is in a fantastic area close to the west entrance of the National Park. Seriously... the drive is 12 minutes from the door to the West Entrance of the park, a lot of places claim this but really aren't that close. The house originated as a 50's homestead cabin and has been remodeled by the Palm Springs Architectural firm O2 Architecture. It is a very special space with great architectural details.

The house is spacious with a great flow, yet very cozy. There is a lot of glass with incredible views in every direction. The house is on 5 acres loaded with natural flora and fauna. You don't have to leave the property to feel like you've gotten away from everything. Feel the desert, drink in the night sky, cook a killer meal and enjoy you're stay!

A Nature Escape

A lovely retreat in the middle of the desert. We appreciated having a washer/dryer and the full kitchen. We spent a lot of time outside throwing horseshoes and enjoying the terrain. The house is a perfect size for two couples. It was a sweet little home.

Stunning location, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a quick birthday trip to Joshua Tree and stayed at this lovely home close to the State Park. The location is just far enough away to feel remote, but convenient to hiking, etc. The house frames the gorgeous views just perfectly -- every window is like a masterpiece. We also had a lot of fun listening to the terrific record collection. All in all, it was a great trip in a beautiful home!

Very cool, and great energy!

An amazing experience overall. The house is spacious and well appointed. The flow of the home compliments the desert. The architectural window in the master bedroom that

implies a headboard is spectacular. To look through it and see the stars at night is a memory

etched in my mind forever. The library is very interesting too. Location couldn't be better, Definitely would recommend! Thank you for sharing your home.

Just okay

Beautiful location and stunning views. Was lovely to gaze out at the desert from the bed, breakfast table and living room. The record player was fun as was having a fire outside at night. There were just a few too many things not quite right or lacking for me to recommend staying here. The gas grill was filthy and there was no grill brush with which to clean it. Outside areas were great, but no comfortable furniture on which to sit and enjoy it. Large picnic table but benches were actually painful to sit on. Pots and pans were dirty/greasy and constant problem with ants in the kitchen. And finally the ceiling fan in the master bedroom wasn't working and the AC in the living room did not blow any cold air. With a little more work, attention to detail and repair, it could be a nice place to stay.

Cool house with awesome views

  • 5 of 5

This house is well designed and maintained with lots of interesting features. The views up to the hills and down to the valley are tremendous. Furniture is comfortable and well placed. The master bathroom with jacuzzi doesn't have a door and can't be used to shower but that wasn't an issue for us since there is a second bathroom. John was a pleasure to work with. Horseshoes were fun out back and the record collection and Hifi were also a trip. FYI the dirt roads around the house are pretty rough but the benefit is a very quiet neighborhood with great views. We loved the place.
