Cozy Cabin with tons of Privacy and Very Close to Okemo Mtn.

  • 4 of 5

This is a great cozy cabin that has 3 bedrooms (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs) and 2 full bathrooms (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs) which is great for three couples or family/friends. We stayed over NYE weekend, and it was a perfect location secluded and away from everything, yet only about 10 minutes to Okemo Mtn. or 45 min. to Killington for skiing/snowboarding. The driveway had plenty of parking for multiple cars. The dining room and living room were a great size for all 6 of us to hang out and be comfortable. The steps are a little steep/narrow to get upstairs- you just have to be careful. The hot tub was very clean and a nice amenity to have. The fire stove was also very nice to have and made the living/dining room very warm quickly. The full fridge/dishwasher/stove/microwave were great to have. We cooked every night we were there which was nice. Ward was very accommodating and his recommendations were helpful. He responded in a timely manner and returned our security deposit the day after we departed.

Privacy close to Okemo!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house for our ski weekend at Okemo. The house is very cozy, had fantastic wifi and a warm and inviting Hot Tub right on the deck! Great quiet roads to walk our dog and lots of land for him to run around. Only 7 miles from Jackson Gore entrance - maybe 10 to the main base lodge and downtown Ludlow. Ward was very easy to communicate with both before and during our stay. The only possible down side was a very steep and narrow staircase to the upstairs bedrooms which would be tricky for someone with limited mobility - but there is a downstairs bedroom and bath as well. All in all a great find!

Perfect for a ski weekend

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for a weekend at Okemo, located just ten minutes away. The house was even bigger and cozier than it appears in the pictures, and it is far enough from the street and neighbors that it also affords a lot of privacy. The DVD collection is the biggest one I've ever seen, and the wood burning stove is in a room that is perfect for watching movies or sitting around and playing games. There is a grocery store about fifteen minutes away that sells firewood, which I highly recommend picking up before you arrive because once you get settled in at this place, you won't feel like leaving again for awhile. Despite below zero temperatures, the hot tub was nice and hot and a great way to relax at the end of each day. Ward was very friendly and easy to communicate with, and he provided us with all the information we needed for our stay. He was also quick to return our security deposit. We can't wait to return to this place!

Great Place to Ring in the New Year

  • 5 of 5

The 246 Russellville Rd cabin was absolutely great. We went up for New Years Eve and had a great time. The place was very clean and cozy located somewhat off the beaten path which was exactly what we were looking for. It’s a quick drive to Okemo which is also great. The living room is wonderfully large with very comfortable couches and a very nice big, flat screen TV with more DVDs in the hutch than you can possibly imagine. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to cook great meals on your own (we did every night) and a dish washer (which is always nice). We also enjoyed the hot tub on the deck which got very warm. Ward was wonderfully pleasant and helpful from start to finish – I couldn’t have asked for a better person to rent from! Highly recommend.

Great place for a ski weekend

  • 4 of 5

Photos and description of house were accurate. It is an old house-some older parts and some updates. Four of us stayed for a long weekend to ski at Okemo. Driveway was icy. If you have 4WD, you should be fine, but it was slippery. The other couple we were with stayed in the downstairs bedroom one night and said it was not very comfortable. They stayed upstairs for the remaining nights and said it was much better. We stayed in the master bedroom and were very comfortable. The living room and dining room are very nice- a great selection of movies and games to keep you entertained. Kitchen has pretty much everything you should need. We also brought our dog. The yard is a good size and she was able to run around. The stairs to get upstairs are pretty steep-probably not great for older people or dogs, but was not an issue for us.

Ward was very nice and easy to communicate with. He answered emails quickly and returned our security deposit within a few days.

If you are looking for a place to stay to ski and don't need anything fancy, this is a great place.

Owner's Response: Happy Monday Briana! Thank you for the nice review you gave us on Homeaway! Can you tell me what we can do to improve the downstairs bedroom's comfort? I have stayed down there and the mattress was a bit firm so we added a topper, what else can we do to improve the experience? $50 discount on your next stay if you can give me some thoughts on this! Regards, Ward
