A terrific spot for our August family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

It was all I had dreamed of as a grandma to have everyone there (except one family who couldn't come). You were wonderful, the weather with delicious breezes was perfect, and we loved all the gathering spaces both in and and outdoors. We only would have changed the temperature of the ocean! I am glad to hear the was left in great shape, since Doug and I had to leave the earliest. I will be happy to review it on VRBO. Thank you again, Maria. For our next reunion in two years, I am even thinking we should come back, although some of us would like to try another part of the west. The pool, the 3-picnic table/ 2 pingpong table area, the lovely verandas outside nearly every room, the spacious and beautifully appointed kitchen, enclosed patio and yoga/playroom for younger kids (which younger adults loved for early morning exercise), the easy access to multiple beaches and the pool and playground at Shamel Beach, charming Cambria, the gazebo, the nature walks, the deer and wild turkeys at dusk, the teepee area---there was more to do and explore than we had time to do. Our family reunion of 11 adults and 11 children all loved it. I only wished we adults could have had evening access to the smaller private therapy pool, which I assume was somewhat heated---or you might consider adding hot tub somewhere on the property. Nonetheless it was a delicious week for us all.

Best accommodations for our annual family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family has a reunion every year somewhere in California. When it was just 3 generations (my parents, my sibs, and their kids) it was challenging to find space in a great location with enough space and enough to do for all ages. Now we are spanning 4 generations and new families with new accommodations and activities needs. In the past, we have had to rent a couple houses to get the right amount of space, rooms, and bathrooms. This year, with a stroke of luck, I stumbled upon Dancing Deer Hacienda. Of all the places we have stayed over the last 30+years, this place was the best. We could all be under one roof without feeling like we were on top of each other. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable, many having a patio to walk out onto. There are many common spaces and living areas so that people can congregate inside and outside. The place was clean and well maintained. The pool, while not the biggest or most luxurious, has amazing views of the property with it's golden hills, beautiful oak trees, and majestic hawks flying overhead. It's a great place to hangout, float around, read, have water gun fights, etc, and has shades that can be pulled overhead to filter out the strong sun. The place is built for the BBQ party with many outdoor decks and spaces and a state of the art BBQ. Additionally, there are trails and walks on the property. While many in our crew went to the coast, visited wineries, went into Paso Robles to tool around, I was totally content to stay on the property and read, swim, go for walks, visit with my family. This was THE best vacation spot for our reunion, and I hope to be returning next year with the full crew. Thank you, Maria, for creating this great venue.

Perfect place for our family reunion/memorial

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to have our family reunion/memorial. The Hacienda accommodated 26 comfortably. We also rented the three small outside cabins which people thoroughly enjoyed. The bathroom facilities provided for these cabins was more than adequate. There was space/tables/chairs in the Hacienda to do many activities together. The kitchen was a favorite gathering place; lots of room, large island in the middle, and very well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed hiking on the land, using the swimming pool, and playing pingpong on the two outside tables. Everyone left saying this was the perfect place for us to gather.

Perfect for Our Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

The home is big and spread out enough to let our family be together or to have some privacy and alone time. The view is beautiful and encouraged the use of the back deck and the downstairs patio. The path down to the lower level allowed us to use the lower patio and TV room with all family members including those that use walkers. The kitchen was perfect for making food for a group and the indoor dining room was big enough to hold us. The living room was comfortable, holds 6-8 and still be within ear shot of the kitchen. The pool is shared with other groups on the property and was not accessible either because it was being used by others or the distance from the house and terrain made it too difficult to get to for those less mobile. Overall our family had a wonderful vacation at the Hacienda.

Quilt Retreat at Dancing Deer

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of 18 quilting friends that have just finished our 3rd year at Dancing Deer Farm and we absolutely love it. In fact we have already started our plans for year 4. The Hacienda is perfect for our group and the grounds are so serene and welcoming. Maria and her staff have always been so helpful and are a great asset to the property. We look forward to returning next year.

FANTASTIC! The location, the property, and the facility exceeded my expectations.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment I arrived, I knew I had made the right choice in reserving the Hacienda for our business executive retreat. Peter welcomed us with a smile. He gave us the tour of the facility and gave us his cell phone number in case we needed anything. We had plenty of beds (19 of us), lots of space - both in the kitchen, outdoors, and indoors. I would highly recommend Dancing Deer Farm.
