About Maria Bucaro
This property is owned and operated by the Center for Reuniting Families, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. On November 15, 1994, the The Center for Reuniting Families was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization with the following purpose: To establish and maintain programs providing both teen-oriented and adult assistance to educate and encourage choices that are positive for the individual, family, community and for the greater stewardship of the earth through experiential exercises and to develop a teaching institution disseminating educational material to the public. In addition to our core goals, at Dancing Deer Farm we provide a venue and shared resources to other non profit organizations who address the challenges of creating ecologically and economically vibrant and healthy families and communities. Through these collaborative efforts, CRF is a center for education, research, and demonstration to develop strategies for a sustainable future.

A truly magical weekend in a tranquil setting
There are not enough words to express how amazing this place is and how perfect the experience was. We had a 25+ people staying the weekend for our wedding celebration, from age 8-75, and there was so much more room than we had imagined. The photos do not do this place justice...not even a little bit. The setting was so peaceful and private, the hosts were wonderful (thank you Maria and Christopher) the kitchen was stocked to the hilt with any cooking utensil imaginable and there were towels and blankets a plenty!I I cannot say enough about this place other than I truly hope we are able to have a gathering here again someday! Thank you again for a memorable weekend!
We had a great time. The venue was peaceful and a perfect fit for our group. The person we dealt with before the event was helpful and easy to work with. The weekend caretaker, just the same. Will almost certainly be back within a year or two.
Very clean, great layout for large groups!
This place is fantastic for large groups. We do an annual staff retreat at the Hacienda home in the Dancing Deer, and will keep coming back. The rooms are spacious and the common areas can host large group meetings. The home is very clean and well laid out. The staff are friendly and helpful. This place is great!
The property is in a spectacular location and is a great place for a large family gathering.
The house features a very large kitchen that opens into a dining area and attached living room. This makes it great for socializing while people are cooking or eating. The other amenities are quite basic, including mostly twin beds and shared bathrooms. This is consistent with the cost, given the prime location - literally walking distance to two wineries. Expect spectacular views of sunrise and nearby open space from the kitchen.
Homey with a Fantastic View!
Maria and Dancing Deer hosted our 9th Annual Christmas Reunion and we loved our stay! There were 26+ of us and we were comfortable! There are lots of things to like about Dancing Deer. Most importantly, it feels like coming to a home and not a rental. We pushed all the tables together to make one long table so that we could all eat together. The kitchen has plenty of counter space for prepping meals and the dual fridges can hold plenty of food. It is also nice having a bed for each person and there are plenty of bathrooms. Towels are provided and they are the soft, fluffy ones! In addition, there are wonderful amenities at the house such as ping pong and volleyball. Our favorite amenity though had to be the wood fireplace. We had a blast making peppermint s’mores! The fire was also a fantastic spot to sit next to when exchanging gifts. It made for a very quintessential Christmas. I think the only thing missing from this house is a piano. While we did bring our own keyboard and a couple guitars, a piano would have completed the homey vibe. My only suggestion is that they put up a larger/better lighted sign at the entrance. We did have a couple guests who missed it when arriving at night.
Maria is a fantastic host and responds very quickly to any questions or concerns. She greeted as upon arrival and came back to wish us farewell. Her assistant, Christopher was just as helpful. He took care of us in the evenings and at night. We called him a couple times for extra firewood and some paper towels. Before we left, Maria and Christopher asked for feedback on the property. We pointed out a couple minor maintenance issues, which they took care of immediately. They really strive to provide an exceptional stay.
To top it off, the views on the property are stunning! Breakfast on the balcony is a must!
Some misc. notes:
1) All the rooms come equipped with space heaters, but it can still get a little cool at night. Bring long pjs or an extra blanket if you get cold easily.
2) There is a projector screen in the house. Ask about renting a projector.
3) Talk with Maria about recommendations for the local wineries. She was even able to provide us with a couple complimentary wine tastings coupons.
4) The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, plates, cups, and utensils. However, it is not stocked with seasonings so remember to bring your own salt, pepper, and olive oil! Also, there is a coffee pot, but you need to bring your own coffee.
Our startup held a retreat to celebrate a new round of investments, and this was the perfect location. Maria was very helpful in the weeks leading up to our trip- she sent floorplans, maps of the property with suggested hiking and camping spaces, and gave some great tips. 100% would book the property again, and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful location for their event. Our team was exactly 30 people, and there was more than enough space to sleep, eat, and play :)
Thanks for the kind words! Your team was a pleasure to have here at Dancing Deer!
With the coast only a 30-minute drive away, you can easily visit the beach for surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and parasailing in Morro Bay, Cayucos or Cambria. And just north of that, visit the elephant seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon! If you are here during the summer months, the Mid State Fair in Paso Robles is always a favorite activity, and easy to get to at only 8 miles away! Head south 30 minutes into San Luis Obispo for more central coast fun, including hiking some of the Seven Sisters of San Luis Obispo - our famous peaks of volcanic remains! We have hot springs just a few miles away, and on site healing practitioners offering a variety of healing modalities, so if you'd like to ensure your stay is relaxing and rejuvenating, we've got you covered! And if you like good food and good wine - this is the destination for you! With nearly 200 wineries in the county (two are directly across the street from us!), and a farmer's market almost every day, your taste sensations will be pampered and nourished! You are even encouraged to visit our 1-acre organic garden, talk to our farmer interns, and sample some of our seasonal harvest. If lake activities are your thing, it is a short drive to several area lakes: Santa Margarita, Nacimiento and San Antonio. Enjoy fishing, camping and boating activities! Take some time to appreciate our state's history with visits to some of the original California missions - Mission San Antonio de Padua, Mission San Miguel Arcangel, Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and Mission La Purisima Concepcion are all within driving distance. Come let us show why some have called this the Happiest Place in America!
