Delightful Summer House in New Harbor, Maine

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at The Finch Cottage in New Harbor a week ago. Belinda was there to greet us and so very nice. She recommended restaurants, places to visit and helpful in every way. We loved everything about it the cottage! It was very comfortable, clean, and welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked with everything one may need for whatever you are cooking. The kitchen/dining area is very spacious and the deck off the kitchen is lovely with very comfortable chairs to sit and sip a glass of wine. Linens are in abundance and the washer/dryer were perfect. The living room is comfortable and cozy with its large bookcase full of books as well as interesting art work. The house is very bright and cheerful with lots of windows.

Belinda is an excellent artist as well as her late husband Ron. Beautiful art surrounded us every day. We loved the tiny village of New Harbor, the beautifully kept old homes, friendly people, and walk to the ice cream shop after dinner.

We miss it already and highly recommend staying at The Finch Cottage if you are looking for a relaxing and very comfortable stay.

Many thanks,

Dick & Sandra Handel

P. S. Thank you Belinda for being there and lending us your lobsta pot! We were in heaven dining on lobster right off the boat on our last night.

Lovely property with lovely owners. Huge backyard for kids (and adults) to run around in. Great, serene beaches literally a stone's throw away. Highly recommended!

Perfect stay in Maine

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful historic home was a great balance of remote location and close access to everything from scenery to food. The house was well equipped and the owners were excellent hosts and a joy to get to know. They provided great information on the area. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Lovely Week in a Lovely home!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at Finch Cottage! It is very comfortable and cozy, with everything you would need for the week! The home was Very clean, the owners were very thoughtful and left a lovely fruit basket and toys for our grandaughter, lots of local brochures with things to see and do in the area, she came over to welcome us when we got there and said if we need anything at all to call. The house is centrally located to many beautiful places! We enjoyed New Harbor, Pemequid Lighthouse, Boothbay Harbor, the ferry to Monhegan Island, Popham Beach, Port Clyde, Camden and much more. There is a well stocked grocery store within walking distance, as well as a yummy ice cream stand. We felt very at home there and would definetely stay again! Thanks Ron and Belinda!! Very comfortable well-equipped quaint cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time we've stayed at Finch Cottage and I feel bad for not having posted a review before because we enjoy immensely every time we stay. The hosts are welcoming, accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The cottage is charmingly decorated, roomy, comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with and there are plenty of close-by ways to enjoy the waterfront (Back Cove, Pemaquid Point, Salt Pond, the beach) or the small downtown of New Harbor. An approximately 10 minute drive back off the peninsula brings you to the town of Damariscotta where there are restaurants, a nice book store, Reny;s and other places to shop. All-in-all Finch cottage is charming cottage in a charming town in a nice area.
