Ron purchased this Studio in 1979
Why Ron chose Kailua
This is our family home in the best, most convenient location of Kailua, an upscale beachside community. It is famous as one of the Conde Naste top 10 beaches in the world, where Presicent Obama vacations, the new winter white house. It is half way between the beach and Kailua town with the shops and restaurants. We are only 3 blocks, a short leisurely walk to the beach and 3 blocks to Starbucks, Fat Boy's (gourmet, fast food restaurant), Formaggio's wine restaurant, supermarket and other fine shopping, Whole Foods. Down to Earth- vegetarian health food store.
What makes this Studio unique
We have an excellent location in a great upscale safe residential neighborhood. There is a beautiful Mountain View. We have free high-speed Wi-Fi, free bike use, and a pay washer and dryer in our home. We have air conditioning and a ceiling fan, your choice. Our kids would walk or ride their bikes down to the beach, or 3.5 blocks to the public Olympic size pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, gym and public library. They have volleyball, basketball and badminton free play, just call Kailua Recreation center for days and times. Join the tennis Kailua gang Mon. to Fri. 7:15-9:30am. Just go to courts 1 & 2 and ask to join in. Everyone who comes is welcome. Thursdays 9-10am is the Farmers' Market 2 blks away for local fruits, pineapples, veggies and tropical flowers. This is the best launching spot for the perfect Hawaii vacation.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Great location, great place!
Unit was everything we expected it to be!
Kailua studio walking distance to Lanikai Beach
The location could no be more perfect. Walking to everything, including Lanikai beach. Very clean. Nice view and stated. The host offers everything you could possibly want, including sun tan cream, beach chairs, hat, bicycles, cooler etc etc. Really nice guy to deal with.
The furnishings are old and simple and nothing matches which makes the room rather unappealing, if you care.
Short walk to beach and to restaurants, the lanai was perfect for breakfast and coffee. Just what we needed!
The room and supplies were what was expected. Some where to sleep and recover from your day. Little annoying the neighbor dog barking constantly while it’s owner away. I threw some ice cubes into its yard and it quit, saw it playing with these, Overall it worked, the bikes are nice transport.
I’m sorry I was on vac when you were here so did not hear the dog. When I returned, I heard it and now the owner has stopped letting his dog out without supervision.
My sincerest apologies about the neighbors dog. I’m happy though that you found all the many amenities we advertised.
4.5 out of 5 stars
This place was perfect for my 5 night stay with my son. There were just a couple of negatives, but first the good stuff. The location is ideal, very close to beach and town. The house and neighborhood were very quiet. Both the bed and the futon were very comfortable. I made use of the bicycles and enjoyed the ride very much and wished i used them more. There is alot of signage which is overwhelming at first but ultimately very helpful. There a couple of beach items in the closet which we did not use but would be very handy for other visitors. The lanai was very large and i enjoyed it every morning. There is enough of a breeze to never need the AC unit, we were very comfortable with occasional fan use. I never had need to contact the owner which is good but i cannot comment on his/her responsiveness. The only drawbacks one should be aware of are the very small and limited kitchenette. You can really only cook single dish items. Also, the internet was very slow or not available at times. The place is a little bit dated, not a big deal to me but others may care. I would not recommend this particular unit for small children, it is safe but a small child may disturb the other tenants. Last, there was no toilet paper provided. Having said all that, i would not hesitate to stay again.
The king sized bed was super comfortable! The studio is a bit worn, but it’s location makes up for that. Half mile to the beach or half mile in the other direction to shopping. The kitchen is very tiny, especially the sink! If you like to cook like I do, I wouldn’t say it’s very conducive to this. The lanai is wonderful, but remember that you’ll see other guests walking across your section to get to their apartment. The landlord lives in the complex so that makes it convenient if you have any problems. Ron and his wife were very helpful when I had questions on a couple of things. I was alone for my ten day stay there and there was plenty of space for me. Three adults may be a bit crowded though, in my opinion. If you like to watch tv, it’s very tiny. Fortunately, I don’t watch it at all. Kailua Beach is beautiful!
Beginner body surfing nearby at Kalama Beach, kayak rentals, 2 blocks on the way to the beach to kayak to offshore islands-Flat Island (bird sanctuary) or Mokes (for good swimmers, in case you fall off). Sea Life Park with giant aquarium of fishes, sharks, Dolphin show, turtles, seals-great show.
