Plan a relaxing trip to enjoy harvest time bounty and all the fall colors Michigan has to offer. Or cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace or take a dip in the private hot tub as the snow falls! Make your spot this wonderful all-wood cabin. We've got plenty of availability heading into winter, so have a look and see if we're right for you. Mere minutes - 6, to be more precise - from downtown Saugatuck, Michigan.
Please note: Our 2 night minimum rental must include a weekend night (either Friday or Saturday.) For bookings from Sunday through Thursday nights, we really do prefer a three night minimum at published rates. If you'd like only two nights on a weeknight, we do need to bump up those nights to the weekend rate, in order to cover our costs. Thanks for understanding!
Nestled in a beautiful nature preserve, a short stroll down the boardwalk to the shore of Goshorn Lake, Roadside Marker Vacation Cabin is part of the vacation community known as Kingfisher Cove.
The Great Room of this beautiful all wood cabin, designed by Deb Colvin, features a 22' high wood-burning fireplace. You'll also find a stereo, with AM/FM tuner, CD player and iPod dock with remote. The dining area features an immense, one-of-a-kind stump wood table, great for meals, as well as board games - a great selection of which can be found in the cabinet next to the fireplace.
And if you're one of those folks who still like to know what's going on in the outside world, don't despair of this get-back-to-nature hideaway. You'll find a 42' Plasma screen television in the loft, with basic cable, and ROKU, so that you can sign in to your own personal streaming accounts (Hulu, Netflix, etc) and enjoy your favorite programs on a rainy day. Did we mention wireless internet? That's there too.
Self-catering - fully appointed kitchen, with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, coffee maker, cooking and baking utensils, lots of counter space and service for eight.
In the summer, cool off in the pool, steps from the front door.
For cookouts, there's a gas grill. Just off the back porch, you'll find a lovely patio, surrounded by pine trees, and a fire-pit for that evening campfire and marshmallow roast.
And, oh yes. The Private Chilly Season Hot Tub - located on the screened in back porch - a terrific way to relax, spring, fall or winter. (Operational from mid September through mid May.)
Sleeps up to Eight:
- Master Suite with queen size hickory log bed.
- One bedroom with two red cedar twin beds.
- Additional bedroom with queen below, twin above hickory log bunk bed.
- All bedrooms have large closets, four drawer cedar log dressers, bed linens and cozy comforters provided.

Welcome to Kingfisher Cove! These awesome cabins share 200 feet of pristine Goshorn Lake frontage with an pier and easy in/out ladder for swimming and non-motorized boats. 17 acres of woods, a private association heated pool, boardwalks, nature trails and Lake Michigan breezes. Kingfisher Cove isn't far from fun either, located just down the road from the Dune Rides, which from all accounts, is a thrilling afternoon! A brief drive (literally a couple of minutes) takes you to Saugatuck Dunes, great hiking and an uncrowded Lake Michigan beach - or if crowds are more your style, we're not far from Oval Beach - just across the bay (rated one of the worlds Top 10 Beaches!) If wineries, lots of galleries and shopping are your thing, there's the terrific Saugatuck/Douglas shopping districts, we're about 15 minutes from downtown Holland (where the New Holland Brewery is located - hey beer lovers!) and Fennville and it's farms and wineries is just a short drive away. Local Brew more to your liking? Check out Saugatuck Brewery! Great beers and food - live music on weekends! Take home a growler or six pack of your favorite. Good to call ahead, they do get busy. Also, Phil's on Butler Street - terrific little restaurant and bar. Great menu! More to do than you can possibly fit into a week - or the best place in Michigan to do nothing at all.

About the owner: Hi! Dorothy here. So glad you're interested in booking our family cabin up in Saugatuck! Besides having a great time and meeting so many great people while operating the Roadside Marker Vacation Cabin, I wear many other hats - I work part time at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago as a Guest Operations Supervisor, own and manage a creative clubhouse for content and podcast producers, Mighty Small Studios, LLC, also in Chicago. I am also a licensed real estate broker in Illinois, and live in and own/manage a three flat in the Logan Square neighborhood. I truly enjoy helping renters and vacation-seekers find that perfect getaway spot to suit their needs, and I like believe our cabin is often the perfect fit! Please feel free to contact me through this site, or give me a call or text at the listed phone number, so I can answer any specific questions! Given my rather hectic schedule, I won't always be able to respond immediately, but rest assured, You are My Priority, whether casually looking around for a future getaway, or in residence with a question or concern! I promise to return inquiry calls, texts and emails as soon as I can sit still for a minute - usually within a few hours. And again - thank you so much for checking our our cabin! Why the Owner Chose Saugatuck, MI, USA:
My husbands family has had close Michigan ties going back three generations. A small fishing/hunting cottage on the shore of Lake Leelaneau in the northern part of the state has been a family gathering spot for 100 years, and in fact, we celebrate it's Centennial in July 2016! Since Saugatuck has always been a stopping point in our travels to and from Lake Leelaneau, and we'd already made many memories there, we were naturally drawn to the area. We like to spend as much time there as our hectic lives will allow, but when we can't be there, we are excited to be able to help others find a great place to get away from it all. It is our privilege to be able to offer up a reasonably priced Michigan experience for those new to this wonderful state, as well as those of you who live in or have made Michigan a part of your lives. We love it, and know you will too!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This place has it all! From the 22' high fireplace to the screened in back porch overlooking the untouched woodland. From the community pool just steps away from the front porch to the 42' plasma TV in the loft. From Goshorn Lake just down the boardwalk to your own private hot tub on the screened in back porch (operational late September through mid-May.) From downtown Saugatuck just a few minutes away to the pristine beaches of Michigan's east coast, Roadside Marker is the place to let your hair down, put your feet up and just be.
