WHAT IS SAINT TERESA? ....... St Teresa is only 5 miles of quiet, exclusive, secluded second family homes. A true 'Eco-vacation' at the Lazy Dolphin ....our cottage is located on Florida's 'Forgotten Coast' where the forest meets the beautiful Gulf water. Far from traffic and city lights Saint Teresa Beach is like Florida was 100 years ago.

PLEASE read entire property description.

You will be in the forest with miles of private beach at your front door. Great fishing right off the beach and a dozen local restaurants nearby. Welcome to 'Old St Teresa' with over 100 years of family enjoyment and history. You will be in the deep woods of North Florida about fifteen minutes from Public facilities.

Enjoy walking on miles of wide sugar white beach with two docks, usually all by yourself. Watch eagles and otters and other critters. We have many nature parks nearby, and many bike trails. Fresh seafood and, yes, there is a golf course ( only 10 minutes away). St Teresa has 130 years of history. A beach community nestled deep in the National Forest. It is only available to owners and their guests/renters. The St Teresa homes are passed from father to son. An exclusive private community with only eight beach rentals in the entire 5 mile length of beach. (We are directly on 5 miles of very wide continuous beach... you do not walk down a road or drive to the beach). Each home/lot has a minimum 1.25 acres and some are over 2-3 acres. We are unique in this area of Florida. We have a history, miles of beach, you may not see a soul your entire stay. We have modern well managed homes with every comfort. This is not a rental area, you have a family's home at St. Teresa.

Exclusive and Private Property. Our home is a two story 1600 sq ft beach house with two kitchen areas, located on the beach with central AC/Heat, extra in room AC unit bedside upstairs, ceiling fans in all rooms, on the gulf, fully furnished. Property has a large grass yard in front, Beach Deck Platform out at the sand dunes. We are 150 feet from the waterline.

Full Bath downstairs. Wood Burning Fireplace. And two sleeper (Full) Futon sofas, a Recliner with SPIRAL Staircase to second floor. Out side we also have wide wood stairs to second floor also.

Second floor is a huge master suite with queen bed and awesome view of the gulf through a whole wall of slider glass doors. Master Suite also features a counter with sink, toaster, toaster oven, and micro fridge with freezer. Great for early breakfast or late snack without going downstairs! Upstairs fireplace next to bed. 32' flat screen TV with HD SAT TV with DVD. Laundry area upstairs with full size washer and dryer. Full Bath upstairs. Second smaller bedroom upstairs features Trundle bed that will sleep one or two. Ceiling Fans on both floors and a portable 15,000 BTU AC unit bedside in MBR. Extra sink in hallway to back bedroom.

About the Area: St Teresa is a beach side community made up of private homes owned mostly by Tallahassee residents. Only a handful of people live here year-round so the beaches are not only private, restricted to homeowners, but also unpopulated most of the time. St Teresa is in the middle of a National forest area and the forest goes almost to the water. Our water is very shallow and we do not have large waves and undertow. Best for Fishing! Our wide white sand beach stretches for miles. We are about 15 minutes (north-west-east) from small communities that have fine dining (casual). PLEASE bring extra beach TOWELS, and EXPENDIBLES (TP, Paper Towels, Soaps, etc.). All utensils. coffee makers, blender, toaster ovens and microwave and linens are furnished. Google map us at 3974 St Teresa Ave, St Teresa , FL 32358

Why Steve Metzke chose Florida North Central

This is NOT LIKE PC, DESTIN.... this is a well appointed beach cottage deep in the woods. St. Teresa is where my family spent the summers. I grew up on St Teresa beach and it has not changed in 60 years. We have shallow water and very small waves. We have a reef out front protecting us. Good fishing off beach or pier. It is Exclusive and Private. Wooded.Trees, Private Beach, no lights and a sky full of stars at night. Watch wildlife, empty beach, wind through pines, relax and unplug. Put our beach chair in the shallow water and take a nap. Enjoy the area for the Natural Beauty surrounding you. You will be in a very secluded very wooded area with Nature all around you. Enjoy it. This is the last of it Florida has to offer. Please do your homework and read about this area. We are not like the western panhandle. We are called the "Forgotten Coast" for a reason. Google that! I urge future guests to read and study our property description and ask questions if you have elderly/handicapped/disabled persons. My number is posted and any special needs must be addressed before you arrive. St Teresa is special. Our main plus is seclusion and nature and great seafood. We have Wi-Fi and Premium TV....but you can get that at home. You have to decide if St Teresa is the right fit for you. Hundreds of guests have taken fine memories with them. It is the last bit of natural unspoiled coastal Florida. It is an eco-adventure.

What makes this house unique

The forest goes down to the water. We have animals and birds. The fishing is GREAT from shore or our nearby dock. Great local restaurants just 10 minutes in all directions. Excellent golf club and grill just 6 minutes from the house. WE ARE DOG FRIENDLY for additional dog fee!

Wonderful quiet place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Lazy Dolphin. The house was as described. The walk to the beach was a little farther than it looked from the pictures but beach chairs and kayaks were located close to the beach and the views were worth it! We had the beach practically to our selves the last few days of our stay. Steve and Nancy are wonderful hosts. We will definitely stay here again. Had to leave a day early due to Hurricane Irma and traffic worries. Thoughts and prayers to all in her path.

Relaxing and Fun Exploring Sea Creatures

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely relaxing week at the beach, and loved exploring all of the live creatures. Our biggest disappointment was finding so many wonderful sea shells that were still inhabited, but we have lots of pictures. There are few places that we have found where you can see so many hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, baby stingrays, and the daily visit of the dolphins. The accommodations worked great for our family. Thank you Steve and Nancy.

Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The place was just what we expected. The beach was pretty secluded which gave us the availability of letting the dogs "run free" which they loved. The weather was fantastic..couldn't have asked for better. Definitely bring food, ice, etc with you ... The stores are not around the corner. Great trip....!!!!

Had a good time. Wish we could have stayed longe.

  • 4 of 5

Steve always said "you are in a national forest" and you most definitely are. Take plenty bug spray, more than one. Take note of the bear signs along the road. They are out there. Never saw them, but did see plenty of evidence. Did I mention to bring bug spray, oh yea. lol

The house is very quaint and pretty much what we expected.

Upon our arrival it had all the furnishings and necessities to get us going. Had a great time beach and pier fishing. Saw some but not many people. Most just in for the weekend.

For the most part, no one to be seen on the beach.

Spoke with Steve many times on the phone ahead of our arrival. He's was very informative and helpful with all our questions. He was out of town during our stay and we really never had a chance to meet him. Steves wife Nancy, did make in on Tuesday. She's super nice and made friends with our fur babies quickly. She even came over to clean off the patio when she notice that cleaning crew missed it. Offered if we needed anything to not hesitate to ask. Very nice indeed.

Oh, and by the way it does have an ironing board and not one, but two irons. lol

Needless to say, our stay seemed to short and our next visit will have to be longer.

Thank you both for everything.

Richard & Cathy Smith

PS: Angelo & Son's Seafood in Panacea highly recommended.

Lazy Dolphin

  • 3 of 5

This was one of the most relaxing vacations I’ve had in a long time. The property owners were very nice and never intruded on our privacy. I really enjoyed the fishing experience, best fishing of my life. It was very easy to understand what bait to use thanks to Stephen’s (property owner) recommendation. Very easy, shrimp and leave it at the bottom. I loved every minute of this trip. I managed to canoe very close to dolphins and actually observed one jump at least five feet out of the water. That was amazing to witness! I plan on visiting again someday. I would like to conclude with two request for future visits from us or anyone else. Property owners should invest in some sort of filtering system to reduce the iron in the water. First request to owners; a lot of my towels which were brand new were washed in that water have become stained. Second request to visitors, please bring bug spray for summer visits.

Owner's Response: Our location away from people in the woods does make for fantastic fishing. About 15 minutes away at Crum's mini mall they have more bait and tackle than Wal-Mart! We do have a water treatment system on the house. It could just use adjusting. Being next door just mention it and the monthly service I pay for will be called. I'm glad you had a good stay. Steve and Nancy.
