The Rodes farm difference...
Historic Rodes Farm dates back to the 1840's and sits on five manicured acres. The farm consists of a Manor Home, two Guest cottages, and a lovely Old English barn. All have been meticulously renovated to include 21st century amenities while preserving much of the 19th century charm. Rodes Farm has enjoyed several uses; a private residence, a restaurant, a girls school and a civil war hospital and is currently an excellent sanctuary for weddings, rehearsals, private dinner parties, corporate events, meetings, reunions or the perfect place for a relaxing and private get-away. All overlook a private bass pond, pool, volleyball, horseshoes and tennis courts. Golf is just minutes away.
Our Wedding Package allows 22 friends and family to stay on the property for a week! It is a great way for families to get to know each other and allows for a stress free wedding!

Rodes Farm is unique in so many ways. You are able to rent the entire estate. Imagine a family vacation where everyone is within walking distance of each other and enjoying all of the activities. There is so much to do or you can just enjoy the quiet surrounded by Blue Ridge Mountain views. As we are full members of Wintergreen Resort our guests can enjoy all the Resort offers as well. There is no other destination equal to this in Central Virginia.
We traveled to Rodes Farm to celebrate the New Year with friends from in & out of state. We rented all three houses and they were absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. The houses were perfect for us to gather and relax. The farm is close to several breweries and wineries (which we frequented!) which was great for when we wanted to get outside. We are already planning our next trip!
We had people come in from three states and stayed in all three homes. The homes are so well done and comfortable. So many places to gather and yet there are places to get away and read or just take in the mountain scenery. We spent almost every evening on the screened in porch of the manor house with a roaring fire. The houses are so comfortable and well decorated. The kitchens are very well equipped with everything we needed. There was so much to to; there are wineries, breweries, great restaurants, a hard cidery, and Wintergreen resort. We will be coming back in the winter to ski at Wintergreen Resort.
My girlfriends and I spent a delightful weekend at the Manor home and enjoyed every second. The house is comfortable, beautiful and has everything you need. In fact, we hardly left the house due to snow! There are two fireplaces, three very well appointed bedrooms, impeccable bath rooms, a chefs kitchen, and a beautiful screened-in porch, where we enjoyed the snow by the fire. The heated floors were another special treat. Barbara was extremely helpful and available all weekend.
Our only regret was not getting to visit the many wineries and breweries nearby! We will certainly return.
We had a disaster experience with the Mark Addy Inn down the road, and this place became our wedding savior. From the first phone call Barbara was friendly and accommodating. We rented all 3 houses for the weekend for our entire bridal party, and everyone was treated like royalty. The property is gorgeous and spacious, the rooms are stately and elegant yet somehow homey, and a short walk gets you to a pool and lake. Barbara even came by with carrots to let my little nieces and nephews feed the horses. Cannot recommend this place higher, it helped make one of the best weekends of my life!
Our family had a fabulous time at the cottage. Pictures do not do it justice, it was so beautiful and cozy and the attention to detail was so nice. We loved the decorating of the interior and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and the beds were so comfortable. We took our son and his wife and two grandbabies and we decided we will be going back to the cottage often. The wide open spaces outside and the beauty of the surroundings was breathtaking. We took the grandbabies to the petting farm just down the road and enjoyed the Wintergreen resort as well. We look forward to going back and experiencing more in Nellysford.
