The casa or home is situated so that you can view both the Sea of Cortez and the mountains to the west. My casa has extra garden space which we love. It is situated to enjoy the fabulous views, which are especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Our casa has a very large deck space for enjoying the views or sunbathing.

Loreto bay is one of the most sustainable resorts in the Mexico. Our home satisfies our appreciation for a sustainable development within a friendly, safe, and vibrant community.

What makes this house unique

The casa is quite private and has amazing views. See It overlooks the beach. Our home has 2 storeys with stunning flowers and many kinds of fruit trees.

Many additional amenities are available at the adjacent hotel - an 18 hole golf course, kayaks, windsurfers and snorkeling gear. Several pools within the community and two within the adjacent hotel are waiting! No cars are permitted within the pedestrian streets of Loreto Bay. The stone walkways provide a never ending 'wow' with their beautiful landscaping.

Restful vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed 2 weeks at this casa. We felt a calm sense of home, as we walked through the front door. We like to do our own cooking and found the kitchen adequate for our needs. We appreciated that the BBQ grill was on the same level as the kitchen. We had learned that other accommodations in the complex had the BBQ situated on a second level of the casa which I might have found inconvenient. The large orange tree in the courtyard gave us fresh oranges every morning. The grounds around the complex are lovely with shrubs and flowers. The fish truck that came to the neighbourhood had a great selection of frozen local seafood. In this complex you can be as relaxed or busy as you would choose. This casa came equipped with two mountain bikes which we used daily to explore the neighbourhood, do our grocery shopping, and visit another beach. Although there was a kayak for our use, the weather was fairly windy ( 22C-24C) for our two weeks so we didn't take it out on the water or do any snorkelling as a wet suit would have been the best attire (which we didn't have with us) for the cooler water temperature . There is a golf course nearby, an excursion company within the complex (we went on an extreme hike and then a grey whale watching tour ), a variety of small restaurants in the neighbourhood with different food focuses, pools to enjoy, and of course the beach is steps away from the casa. The uncrowded beach for beach combing and birdwatching/photographing were my favourites. Also an art class at the local boutique store was a great distraction. We loved the large sunny deck off the master suite. It was a perfect spot to read, watch/photograph birds, enjoy my Tai chi practise. Going up and down the stairs to the master suite might be difficult for someone with mobility issues . The demographic of the people we met while we were there, seemed to be 40+, and many people of retirement age (which we are). That said, we did meet people 25ish who were there to golf and do the many excursions offered both on and off the water. The local people were very friendly when we visited the small town of Loreto, a 15-20 min. taxi ride away. Everyone seems to know each other there and we chatted freely with shop owners. Our homeowners were great to answer our many questions and offered great advise on local happenings. We would like to return to the area another time and perhaps a bit later in the season for the different photography opportunities and warmer weather.

Great location and close to amenities

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just spent two weeks at this villa. The villa is well cared for and as others have mentioned, it is very well equipped. The master bed is comfortable and there are big bath towels. Wifi and free calling to Canada made it easy to keep in touch. Each morning we had our breakfast on the top level overlooking the sea sipping fresh orange juice squeezed from the orange tree in the court yard. The villa is very close to the beach.

On Saturdays, a fish and seafood truck comes to the development. A new store called Delicatessan just opened in the Aqua Viva section which caters to western needs. The owners are very nice and will bring in anything you ask for. The golf course has a new restaurant so there are currently 3 restaurants in the development as well as the hotel on the adjacent property.

We rented a car at the Loreto airport which we booked online from Alamo and took the mandatory 3rd party liability insurance at the time of booking. We had lower quotes but these did not include that coverage which you will be required to pay when you arrive. It was convenient having the car to make some trips to town for groceries, restaurants and the ATM as well as to do some site seeing around the area.

It was quite windy most of our two weeks which made fishing or swimming in the sea a bit difficult but the water was very warm. There are sting rays to watch out for. Our villa had a kayak for our use but we did not use it but we did make good use the two bikes. We did not golf but the course looks nice and the rates are great.

The grounds and pathways around the villas are very nicely landscaped and well cared for. The beach is sandy and there is no one trying to sell you stuff. This is a very safe area and the Mexican people are very friendly. This is a great home away from home spot which we would (and have) recommended to friends.

Beautiful vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this property for just under 2 weeks and it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. As you enter the neighborhood you immediately feel calm and rested as it is such a pretty, friendly and tranquil place. We then opened the door to the property and were utterly shocked by how beautiful it was. It is much better than pictured. It is also a really big property with more than enough space. We were a group of 4 ranging my husband and I, my 2 year old son and his grandma and we never ever felt like we were living in each others pockets. The way the house is built means you get a floor each so you can easily have space to yourself if need be. I'd think because of this it is brilliant for families or a group of friends to vacation together here.

Everything in the house was good quality and very well maintained. We used the kayaks everyday, watched movies after dinner, enjoyed sunsets from the top floor and sunbathed on the middle floor patio while my son napped.

The community pools are fantastic and a great way to meet other families. One is a lap pool which is a couple of blocks from the house and the other pool which is is bit more fun for kids is either a walk away or if you want to be there quickly we would just use the bikes.

All in all both this home and Loreto are an absolute gem of a find and we look forward to coming again.

Magnificent Home!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in this beautiful home from the 20th of April through the 7th of June 2014. It was exactly as advertised on this website. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay for almost 2 months and learned so much about this hidden gem called Loreto.....Knowing after each adventure we would return to this awesome property to relax and plan our next escape. The house is a very short stroll to the Sea of Cortez where my wife would love to spend time snorkeling or just swimming in the warm water. The furnishings are excellent and make everything comfortable. The views from the third story are inspiring and we found this location a great place to enjoy a drink in the evenings. Fresh limes off the lime tree or key lime tree everyday and fresh cherry tomatoes as well. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this property a 10. The owner has two bikes for use, snorkel gear and two nice ocean kayaks..... A beautiful kitchen and BBQ area to make meals and all the kitchen utensils you could ever want. My wife and I brought a rice cooker down as we eat lots of rice with our meals. There are games and puzzles for your use. We brought an HDMI cable to plug into the TV from our laptop to watch TV shows etc.... There is a cabinet full of DVD's and tons of books that help you explore the area along with maps to help plot your course. The phone at the CASA worked well and was free to call the US or Canada. The people of Loreto were kind and friendly and we had no negative experiences the entire time we were down there. We Highly recommend this property for a drama free experience. The owner was very helpful and made this entire adventure as close to perfect as possible.

Lovely, Well-Appointed Home

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home offering all you could need to recreate and relax--kayaks, bikes, kitchen with abundant spices and cookware, reference library for local attractions and wildlife, lovely courtyard garden and patios. Lorene has thought of everything.

As for activities, we would especially recommend whale watching, touring or fishing with Don Alvaro at the Loreto Marina.

Fantastic House, Incredible Area

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from staying at the casa for a week. We had a wonderful time. The house is ideally situated near the beach, the pools, restaurants and coffee shops. One of the things I was most impressed by was that the house is so well-equipped with everything we wanted or needed. There are lots of houses for rent in this area, but having everything we needed made this most comfortable. Need an ice chest to take cold drinks to the beach or pool? It's there. Want to make fresh juice? There's a juicer. Kayaking? There are two of them.

We had a fabulous vacation in a beautiful house, in a beautiful neighborhood.
