This new large 4-bedroom and 3 baths villa is located in the famous Hamlet@WestHaven gated community in Davenport, next to Champions Gate complex and Omni resort, off I-4 (exit #58), just 10 minutes from Disney World. The Publix, super Wal-Mart and many other stores and restaurants are all close by.

The villa has a large private pool and hot spa, screened with great privacy. There are one king master en-suite, one queen bedroom with private bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms each has two twin beds and share the 3rd bathroom.

There is a large 16ft ceiling great room, a large full loaded kitchen with breakfast area, a dining room, and separate laundry room of washer and dryer.

There are total 5 Plasma TVs (40', 23' and 19') and cable in this villa, free high-speed internet and WiFi, DVD and phones (free long-distance). A game room with pool table and air hockey.

All linens and towels are provided. Local management company is 24/7 available.

Very Nice

We thoroughly enjoyed the home although we were not told in advance that arrangements had to be made for the pool to be heated. There is an extra $25/day charge for heated pool and even when management did turn on the heater, it never did get warm. That was sad. Also, there was confusion around garbage pickup - all signs posted said pickup was on Thursday - didn't happen. Maybe Christmas day played a part in a delay for that week. We did find a completely full trashcan upon arrival which we were never able to have disposed. Management told us to put our full bags of garbage behind the fence and they would come over to pick it up. They did pick up once but even after a second phone call for pickup a few days later, the full bags were still behind the fence when we vacated the property as the can remained full from the prior visitors.

First of all let me say that the fridge has been replaced, so contrary to what the first reviewer was told, there must have been a problem.

Also let me state that there are some positives such as location (we rented a villa on the same street last year and it really is a nice and secure location). It's close to Disney and Universal is only 30 mins away in traffic. It's also close to local amenities such as Publix.

Now the not-so-positive side. The villa is probably best summed up by the outside umbrella. It doesn't work and the owner/management company has kindly situated a re-purposed coat-hanger up inside which you can use to hook the umbrella into a position where it stays up. Other niggles:

- Kitchen blind is missing the stick to open it with

- Some of the towels are badly worn and torn

- There were only 3 teaspoons

- The DVD player isn't connected, nor can you connect it as it's only got an s-video connector which the TV doesn't have a port for. They clearly replaced the TV but couldn't be bothered with the DVD player

- A number of vertical blinds in the lounge area are broken and held up with duck tape (one fell down by itself)

- The mattresses ALL need replacing. They are noisy, worn and really uncomfortable during the night. One of the kids mattresses is even curved in where it looks to have collapsed

- The table lamps are shabby and ripped

- There are scuffs and bumps on a lot of the walls which look really unsightly

- An item of bathroom furniture (towel rail?) has been removed in the main bedroom en-suite but the brackets are still on the wall and would be extremely painful if brushed against getting out of the bath

- Loose toilet seat in the master bathroom

- The Left toaster handle broken and comes off - not surprising considering how old it looks

- No airer to dry clothes unlike neighbouring properties

- The area at the back was filthy, to the point where I was on my hands and needs cleaning it myself.

On top of all this, there were small black hairs, presumably dog hairs (?) on the floor all around the property. Clearly again it had not been cleaned properly.

Mary didn't really seem to care, just forwarded my email outlining some of the points about to the 'local management company' who never responded. I didn't intend to spend a holiday I'd been looking forward to chasing a management company that clearly don't care in the slightest. Avoid this place.

We went Christmas Day weekend, the refrigerator was broken and had to insert all of our Christmas dinner items in coolers and had to go purchase ice, since the freezer was not making ice. We contacted management, It was not fixed during our stay. The toilets were clogged in all of the rest rooms. There is obviously something wrong with the plumbing in the house. The owner told us the fridge was not working due to the amount of people staying in the home, due to the frequent opening and closing of the refrigerator, when it was only 6 people in total. In the description the house sleeps 10 people. The refrigerator was not cooling from the second we got there. We were not impressed, we will not be staying here again. Thank you.

Owner's Response: The refrigerator was not working efficiently. So a new refrigerator was ordered, unfortunately, it was not delivered in time for this guest.

Very quiet neighborhood and No Bugs! 

The house was very nice and the pool was amazing. The house had no Bugs! We stayed 7 days and no one spotted a single bug until the last day when I saw a cricket. We probably let it in.  That’s pretty amazing considering the climate in Florida!! The house did show signs of wear but was very clean. Could use a new coat of paint in a few areas. I did report a couple thing wrong to the agency. ( Ice machine, couch was shedding fabric, Air Hockey did not work, toilet handle would stay down after flushed, and the pool screen had a tear along the base.) they sent someone out the next day and fixed the screen and ice maker. They took a look at the other items. I thought that was a good response. None of these were a game changer for me. We loved the house and very much enjoyed the privacy an comfort of staying in a home WITH OUR OWN POOL rather than staying at a hotel pool crowded with a bunch of strangers.

Also, the kitchen had most everything you need to cook there. I’ve rented cabins and homes in the past and I usually bring a good non-stick pan. No one ever has one that isn’t scratched beyond use. There were a good amount of towels and wash cloths but it would not hurt to bring a few. We did for the pool and this helped greatly otherwise you will be washing towels every day. The master bed was comfortable and I heard no complaints from the kids on the other rooms. House was very spacious. We had 3 adults and 2 teens. This house could comfortably accommodate 8 easily.

Internet... we had no issues. It worked great.

Did notice the lights are a little weird. The wall has switches but they didn’t turn anything on above. You had to go to the lamps in the room and switch on. ???

Overall, for the money we paid, we got a great deal !!!

Also, if you need to contact the agency, the number is on the fridge and not in the book. I looked all through the book and they wanted to know why I emailed them when the number was on the fridge. Seriously, put the number in the book first page.
