About our one bedroom unit:
This 800 square foot airy apartment is on the lower level of 2007 constructed residence. The unit is a purpose-built, comfortable living space with extra-height ceilings and full size windows that bring in lots of sun. It is decorated in light colors, the bathroom is tiled and rest of the space was finished with bamboo floors. On street parking is ample and available in front of our home.
You'll enjoy an open and cheery dining room and living room, TV with basic cable, free Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom and a bedroom with a comfy queen sized bed. The sofa converts to a double bed and a queen bed air mattress and/or a portable crib can be provided upon request.
The apartment is accessible via a ramp and the bathroom has a zero-entry shower with a hand-held shower head.
Note: We do not have a land line for the apartment.
About our location:
Our home is in a quiet residential neighborhood within Ballard, just north of downtown Seattle. Located at the cross streets of NW 70th Street and 27th Avenue NW we are a little less than a mile to the heart of Ballard's downtown where you will find coffee shops and lots of restaurants from which to choose. Four great coffee shops are just over a half mile away! We are three blocks or 0.2 miles from a bus stop that has two buses that will drop you off in the center of Ballard.
About the neighborhood of Ballard:
Ballard has been called 'a city within a city,' and has much to offer. A thriving waterfront and happening restaurant and entertainment scene have made this Scandinavian enclave one of Seattle's most fun areas. Here you'll find a diverse array of great restaurants, cute coffee shops, fun boutique shopping, the best pastries in the city (at Cafe Besalu), a year round Farmers Market, three grocery stores, a brand new library and park and more. You will be a short walk from Ballard's core and just down the hill from Phinney Ridge where the Woodland Park Zoo is located. The University of Washington and downtown Seattle are about 6 miles away.
Ballard is a great neighborhood for biking, just minutes to the Burke Gilman Trail. There are multiple parks and playgrounds sprinkled within walking distance for workouts, picnics or playtime for kids and adults alike. The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (great for boat/yacht watching), Green Lake, and Golden Gardens Beach Park are all just minutes away.

My husband and I designed and built our home and this apartment in 2007. We included the apartment so our families would have a cozy place to stay nearby on extended visits while feeling like they had a space of their own. We live here full-time with our young children. Although not NW natives, Seattle has become our home.

Ballard is a great neighborhood with all the amenities that any age person would want to enjoy. Close to downtown and all the hustle and bustle, but with a smaller community feel. We love it!
Our home is a couple of blocks away from express bus lines that will take you to downtown Seattle (#17 or 18). Other buses running nearby will take you to the University of Washington (#44, 46 or 48). We are also a short walk through residential streets to 'downtown' Ballard.
Stayed her while visiting my son and his family who live close by. Second time staying at this apartment. Easy keyless access a plus. Safe neighborhood. This apartment is large, very clean, and comfortable. All the comforts of home. Great location and quiet neighborhood. No problem with parking on the street. Property owner Eric is very friendly and came to check on us to see if we needed anything. Will definitely stay here again if available.
We spent a week here in September moving our daughter into SPU. This apartment was exactly what I look for in a short term rental: clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient location. The kitchen was very well stocked and I cannot think of a thing we needed during the week it did not have. My daughter slept well in the sofa bed, hot water was always plentiful and we had plenty of space for all of our luggage and boxes. We were always able to park right in front of the house and it was an easy 3 minute walk to the bus stop on the days we chose not to drive. WiFi was no issue for my husband who had to do a little work each day. I had a couple of questions prior to our trip and Eric responded very quickly and was friendly and accommodating. He even allowed me to ship one of my daughter's textbooks to the house prior to our arrival. We spent time at SPU in Queen Anne, downtown and Northgate and found the location to work well for all three. We ate at Ray's Cafe (beautiful views) based on Eric's recommendation and enjoyed a lovely Italian dinner at Soprano's, both of which I would recommend. I would definitely stay here again.
The Rucker family was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Very Clean, organized, very well-maintained and easy access to parking and the city. They even provided a pack and play. We had access to all the kitchen items we needed. We would stay again next time we are in the area.
It made for a very relaxing nice trip.
My family really enjoyed their stay at this Garden Level Ballard Apartment. The property is clean with a modern kitchen, and the location is convenient to public transportation. It's approx. 10-12 blocks to a large supermarket and a 15-20 min. walk to central Ballard attractions and restaurants. The hosts live above in a nice house in this safe, quiet neighborhood. The owners are friendly and available to address any concerns. I only have two recommendations to improve the property: while the bedroom is very comfortable, the living room sofa-bed could be updated. Also, the cable TV service can be upgraded. Otherwise, everything was great. Highly recommended. Thank you!
We were in town visiting our son. This apartment was perfect. Very quiet neighborhood. It was only blocks from our son's apartment, so we could walk back and forth. Wonderful bakery (Larson's) only blocks away as well. The apartment was very clean and spacious. It was even better than described. Felt at home the whole visit. Was stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.
We really enjoyed our stay at this VRBO. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved that it was on the ground floor so we didn't have to haul heavy suitcases up steps. The location was very close to our children that we were visiting and convenient to lots of attractions and restaurants. The owners were friendly and accommodating . We would definitely stay here again.
