About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-4), Close to beach

Update # 5 1/11/18 Roads are improved over last month, more stores and restaurants open. No TV or landline still and no word when. But there's a working private hotspot in the condo. Beach was busy today. Slice at the pool has not yet reopened - more news on that when I have it. Ferries are running to St John on a regular schedule but check before planning any late night visits because last I heard the last boats run at 8 PM.

Update #4 12/18/17 I just returned from a very pleasant visit. Power was on and the property and beach have recovered nicely. Still no TV/Phone or web in the condo but check with me about the availability of a Wifi hotspot. My Sprint phone worked well enough, AT&T users were very happy. Slice VI, the poolside restaurant should open by Christmas, the Beach Bar is open, Red Hook is very much open. Road conditions improve daily. The St John National Park reopened last week. Skinny Legs in Coral Bay reopened yesterday. Please go and support island recovery! VI Strong!

Update #3 12/6 Power is on! I'm heading on down Friday to check things out.

Update # 2 - 11/28 @ 5 PM Great News - According to the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority Facebook Page - Electric Service will be restored to Sapphire Village by Dec 9

UPDATE #1 - First I'd like to thank all my past and future guests and friends for their concern these past few months. Secondly, EVERYTHING IS FINE. Both condos came through with nary a scratch. Some water did find it's way into both and there is some cosmetic damage but many were not as lucky. Many of you may have noticed the listing was unavailable for a spell and perhaps took this as a sign but this was only due to the fact that our subscriptions renew in the fall and the dearth of tourists gave us no reason to renew. Both units are occupied up until the end of the year by some people who lost their housing either within Sapphire Village or elsewhere on St Thomas. My family and friends are all safe, some have evacuated temporarily and all have life-altering stories to tell. Electric service is still being provided on a limited basis for just a few hours each day and many repairs are underway across the property. Generally, the upper-level buildings and units fared less favorably; the two buildings at the top of the hill sustaining roof damage. The rainfall has helped the landscape begin its recovery but it will take at least a year for the island to start looking lush and FEMA blue tarps will be visible for years to come. Electric service is expected to be restored by mid-November and once that happens I plan on going to make a personal assessment. Jackie and I have our reservations for early January we don't plan on making any changes. I had a rash of cancellations in both condos after the storm which was welcome and opened up both units for emergency housing needs. Currently, I have an 8-week slot that just opened up from mid-Jan-March in the studio due to a non-storm related cancellation. So to summarize - all is well - both units are available for rental - the calendars are up to date HOPE TO POST AN UPDATE BY DEC 1 ****

This corner marina front walk-in level condo was the 'builder's unit' meaning it was retained by the builder-developer as his own due to the location. I figure the builder was a pretty good judge of the best location. Dominica building features the shortest distance (approx 1100 feet) to the beach with the least vertical climb (25 feet +/-)

Close to beach, office, pool, restaurant, lending library, outdoor shower, mail room, marina services and laundry. Close to everything but still quiet.

Free semi-private in-condo high-speed wireless network. I-pod dock and Bluetooth stereo speakers, flat screen Hi-def TV.

End unit is especially nice because nobody will be disturbing you by walking by your door. End unit porches also have a side window for more light and air flow.

Bathroom was remodeled in 2013

All new kitchen and living room tile in 2014

Extensive furniture upgrades and new bed 2016

This spacious, tastefully furnished one bedroom end unit condominium is located overlooking a quiet marina with stunning down-island views of St. John, the BVI and many other islands.

Watch the yachts come and go while lounging on your private balcony or take a short 1500 foot stroll to beautiful world-renowned Sapphire Beach AND THE NEW FOR 2017 SAPPHIRE BEACH BAR by the St Thomas Restaurant Group - search the web for SBBVI. Our dual air conditioned walk-in level condo sleeps four with a king-size bed in the bedroom and a pullout queen in the living area. Nicely appointed kitchen and open dining area.

Sapphire village offers two pools, one just steps from your door alongside the NEW RESTAURANT FOR 2017 - SLICE VI CRAFT PIZZA & CAFE at search the web for SliceVI. The marina offers almost every Water Sport under the sun from BVI or sunset cruise to fishing, para-sailing. Popular charter options include Yachts: Nightwind, Breakaway, New Horizons and New Horizons II or choose a half or full day fishing charter with Double Header or on Abigail III with Captain Red Bailey.

Red hook is less than a mile down the road with boutiques, numerous restaurants, a grocery store and the ferry to nearby St. John.

Summers are a great time to visit, crowds are light, the beaches are delightful and the weather is near perfect. Even in the heat of summer, the V.I. has never recorded a temperature above 99 degrees. Give the V.I. a visit in the offseason, you won't regret it.

We now also offer a newly remodeled marina front studio with many similar features just 75 feet away. Please contact us for details.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our vacation in St. Thomas and staying in your condo. We really appreciated all you did for us. The condo had all the amenities anyone could want and more. We went back to Latitude 18 Saturday night to see Jason Jones again as we loved his music. We went sailing with Maxine on "Lou" as recommended and did some snorkeling at Hawksnest Bay. We shopped at Havensight Mall for gifts to take home and checked out a few more beaches, Lindquist, Magens, Secret Harbour and did lots of relaxing.

The day before we left, we saw a deer jump off the end of the marina and swim to shore just to the right of the condo. Dean figured it was a sign that's it's time to go back home, although I disagreed.

average rating of 4.9423075 based on 55 reviews

This was the perfect spot for our vacation. Would definitely use again.

The property was amazing. Photos are not deceiving, it looks just like that! The host, Tom, is great. Very responsive, helpful, great recommendations, very accessible. Being on the marina was great for boat trips to island hop, and the proximity to Red Hook made this a very attractive place to stay...not to mention a gorgeous beach only a few minutes walk around the corner. This unit and this host is top notch!

My husband and I stayed for 9 days on our first trip to the Virgin Islands. To say this condo has everything you need would be an understatement! It has everything you need for the beach including chairs, towels and even snorkeling gear. The condo itself has all the comforts of home....but the location is what is so's a corner unit and totally private....none of the other condos can see into yours, including the lanai where we had breakfast every morning! We loved this unit and when we return would definitely stay here again. Tom was easily the easiest and most helpful owner I have ever dealt with when renting a vacation condo!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to post a review, it was my pleasure getting to know you. Ahhh yes, corner units will spoil you. I never experienced anything but a corner unit for years (my mom's studio in the neighboring Saba building is also a corner) so I just took it for granted. Please return soon - daily scheduled flights!

Love, Virginia, USA

Wonderful, peaceful, relaxing, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This was our third trip to St Thomas and Jackie and Tom's condo was our favorite! This condo had the most comfortable bed, best and most functional kitchen, and a beautiful view of the harbor. My wife and I really liked having a separate bedroom from the rest of the condo. We enjoyed watching boats coming and going from the balcony. Great snorkeling at the beautiful Sapphire Beach was only a five minute relaxing walk. We were also fortunate to meet the owners Jackie and Tom while in St Thomas and found them very helpful and lovely people. Without a doubt we would love to return to this wonderful condo!!

Excellent Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Sapphire Village is a great location if you don't want the hustle and bustle of a city, but still want to be close to bars, restaurants and grocery stores. Tom's condo is clean, modern, fully stocked with kitchen appliances, bedding, towels, water sports gear etc. It is easy to access from the street and offers a stunning view across the marina to various islands. The restaurant Slice and pool are across the street as is a laundry facility. Sapphire Beach is a short walk away with sandy beach, beach bar with food as well as live entertainment when a ship is in port. A taxi can take you to Red Hook for supplies and night life and easy access by ferry to St John. Tom stayed in touch the whole time, answering any questions and helping with directions and information on the area. Definitely want to return to Tom's condo and stay longer this time!

Owner's Response: Brian, Thank you for your kind review, I hope the rest of your vacation was all you hoped for. Sorry we missed you, we arrived the day you left - thanks for the cold brews etc. they were much appreciated and you are certainly most welcome to return again. Your mentioning the new SliceVI restaurant at the pool is appreciated too – thanks. It was nice not having to run off the property for dinner that first night. I thought the calamari was super! There’s another new spot at the neighboring property called Lime Garden Lounge and Restaurant that we also enjoyed and the new Sapphire Beach Bar. They provided some live music on a couple days – they also had some decent grilled burgers, hot-dogs and chicken sandwiches. I don’t get down much in season myself but after this trip maybe I should change that routine.

Great Condo. Great View.

  • 4 of 5

The condo had everything to make our stay wonderful. The view was great. The VI Slice cafe next to the pool was friendly and food delicious. We took the dollar bus into town many times to sample other restaurants and explore other parts of the island. One bit of warning - don't go into Charlotte Amalie on Monday - all the historic sites are closed.

The location, the decor, the various amenities, it was all tailored for perfection. 2016 was quite the stressful year for me so being able to bring in the new year at a location that gave me no worries, was a dream come true.
