Villa Adagio is a unique luxury vacation home on the South West side of the beautiful island of St John. Its hillside location offers spectacular views of Great Cruz Bay, Pillsbury Sound and the hills of St Thomas and St James in the distance.
Upon entering the villa, the first thing you notice is the striking indoor pool under sky lights. It is all framed by the breathtaking view through the floor to ceiling sliding windows. Walk through the big room onto the spacious deck, grab a lounge chair and a cool drink and watch the sailboats drift by. Or simply relax in the jacuzzi. The villa's hospitable great room offers luxurious comfort. A modern kitchen features bamboo and mahogany cabinetry with granite counters. The formal dining area reflects the fine eye for detail carried throughout this villa. All 3 air conditioned bedrooms contain a seating area furnished with unique accents as well as a spacious bathroom, 2 of which have outdoor showers. One bedroom is accessible from the driveway as well as from the deck, but can be locked. A beautiful tropical backyard offers outdoor dining by the fountain.
In just a short driving distance is the town of Cruz Bay with lovely shops, wonderful restaurants and access to all kinds of water sports. Glorious, world acclaimed beaches are just minutes away. Snorkeling, para-sailing, hiking, it's all right here.
The best part of the island is that it is 2/3 national park, so it is unspoiled tropical forest, absolutely gorgeous.
Come see for yourself... you won't regret it! Paradise is awaiting you. We welcome you to Villa Adagio.
We live in Delray Beach, FL. We have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren, hoping for a few more grandchildren in the future! Skip is CEO/Chairman of a magazine publishing company and also produces consumer shows. He has offices all over the country so travels a lot. Paula joins him when she can. When it's time to relax, we head to the beautiful island of St John. We love it and are sure you will too. See you there!
Paula purchased this villa in 1998
We chose St John because of its gorgeous, world acclaimed beaches and its seclusion. It is 2/3 national park which is protected and cannot be developed, so the island will never be overpopulated. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. The island offers wonderful, upscale restaurants as well as cozy, casual eateries. We love to go sailing, snorkeling and just relax on the beach, enjoying spectacular views. Everywhere you go on this island, you will be astounded at the breathtaking vistas, it is truly paradise!
We fell in love with the view and then built the house. The view is truly spectacular. We furnished the house for us, making it a home away from home, not a 'rental'. It is a very comfortable, yet elegant home. We have picked top of the line, tasteful and lovely furniture and accents. The linens are of superior quality, the dishes and glassware are beautiful, even the beach towels are extra large and soft. Come see for yourself!
We went to St. John for the first time last year and absolutely loved it! We were so in awe of the natural beauty of the island AND of lovely Villa Adagio! Your home is stunning and was a perfect location for our get away. We enjoyed a few dinners that we prepared ourselves in the beautifully appointed kitchen....Villa Adagio was perfect for entertaining! We loved the pool in the living room and the spectacular views of the bay! Thank you for such a memorable vacation, we can't wait to come back!
Dear Paula and Skip,
Our trip to St. John was so amazing. Starting with our contact with you, you made us feel like family. Our experience with other villa owners didn't feel the same. We knew this was the place for us. This was an important trip we were getting married and we needed everything to be perfect! And it was!
Your information package with a list of restaurants, favorite beaches and things to do. Really helped with planning our week before we even arrived. Your management company was top notch! They booked our rental car, recommended our taxi driver, met us at the ferry docks and showed us around the villa! It couldn't have been a better experience .
The villa was just like the photos. Maybe even better!!
The location of the villa was just perfect !!! Close to town, restaurants, shopping. And the grocery store and gas was right on the way. Beaches were 8 minute's away. Which is nothing on this island because the drive anywhere is fun and beauty is around every corner .
The villa had everthing you could need : coolers, towels and beach chairs for trips to the beach. The villa was even fully equipped with a wide variety of tanning lotions all the way up to 100 UV. We enjoyed most evenings at the villa watching the sunset and preparing dinner. The kitchen was very well equipped and nicely laid out . The beds were comfy and we loved the outdoor showers. Even the tree frogs were fun! The indoor pool was refreshing after a long day in the sun.
We can't say enough about this villa and the people who own it! Our whole vacation experience was SPECTACULAR !!!!! and we owe it to Paula and Skip and their beautiful Villa Adagio !!!
Thank you so much for all that you did for us!!
Love Bob and Tricia
Our family of 4, including 2 teenagers, loved this home and is already planning to stay here again during our next trip to St. John. The home overlooks Great Cruz Bay and is private, yet not so secluded that you feel isolated. When you enter the front door, you immediately are awed by the pool and luxury furnishings that create comfortable spaces to relax with great views from any location. The king master bedroom includes a sunroom with a daybed and armchair with ottoman, which are perfect for the morning cup of coffee. The outdoor master shower is private, with visiting hummingbirds and iguanas hanging out in the flowering tree overhead. The first queen bedroom is on the opposite side of the house, with the other outdoor shower and another sunroom furnished with comfortable seating to enjoy the views of St. Thomas and Great Cruz Bay. The third bedroom, also a queen suite, is located downstairs and is accessible from a spiral staircase from the back patio or by an outdoor path just by the front door. My 14 year-old daughter loved her "apartment" down there, but it would not be suitable as a bedroom for younger children unless there was an adult with them because it's not accessible from inside the house. This bedroom was also beautifully furnished with a large indoor shower as well as a sitting room with a partial view of the bay.
The back patio with its lounge chairs and hot tub were where we spent most of our evenings. There were times when we could hear the music from the Westin nearby, and we loved it because we could enjoy it but it wasn't so loud as to be annoying. When we wanted our own music, the SONOS system provided access to any kind of music we wanted. This was something we used every day and found to add a nice perk to the home that we hadn't realized we would have.
The indoor pool was amazing. The water was cool, not cold, and felt great after a day of exploring or as a cool-off while cooking dinner in the kitchen a few feet away. It's about 5 1/2 feet deep at it's deepest, so you would need to keep an eye on younger children because it's very enticing!
Each bedroom has AC with a remote control. The great room and kitchen are not air conditioned, but were comfortable as long as you are not cooking. That's when the indoor pool was nice! The ceiling fans and airflow from the screened doors across the front and back of the house kept the temperature very comfortable.
Thank you, Paula and Skip! We hope to be back!
Our first vacation in St. John was particularly memorable with daily adventures and the welcomed return to this oasis. Great location and view. All amenities are where they should be and the rooms are comfortable. The pool was a refreshing daily cool down. Our friends staying elsewhere came several times to relax and enjoy drinks as the location makes for a great jump off to the restaurants of Cruz Bay. All in all great place.
We simply had the most wonderful vacation! The entire family didn’t want to come home:( The house was everything we expected and beyond. It was the most relaxing vacation and that says a lot with a 16, 13, and 10 year old! We are already talking about when our next trip is back to St. John.
Location is great, close to markets, Mongoose Junction and Wharfside. Able to take some nice walks or runs on the roads right outside. Main level is huge with pool, kitchen, TV area. Everyone can hang out in the area yet have their own space. Bedrooms are large. lAmenities top notch with well stocked kitchen. Outdoor showers beautiful. Showers are well enclosed and still have a private feel. Bedrooms have ac units which is a nice touch. The owners have done a great job maintaining the place inside and out. Looks just as nice as it did 5 years ago. There is a large collection of sun lotion and spray other guests have left so you may not need to buy any there
This is a terrific house with a breathtaking view in a great location. Adagio means "slow and graceful" and this villa fulfills this mission perfectly. The sunsets are spectacular from the huge deck and the hot tub is there to help you slow it all down after fun in the sun. The indoor pool calls you in after being in the sun or on the many great hikes on St John--like a swim up bar and fun place to hang out and still watch TV! Kitchen is beautifully done with more equipment and supplies than you could ask for. Outside grill is great--with ring game right near by to keep the beer flowing. Guest rooms are extremely comfortable and outside showers complete the "cool" factor. AC in the guest rooms is perfectly comfortable and they cool off quickly after being off all day. The location of this house-close to everything makes it easy. Owners are first class people and had lots of wonderful advice. Would be great for three couples--we are a family of 4 with two teenaged children and this worked very well. Highly recomend!
