We call our home the 'The Crow's Nest' because you must climb 31 steps to the deck and main entrance. The view on the deck and from the front of the house is extraordinary.
We have furnished the home luxuriously with Turkish towels, fine linens, down pillows and comforters. The sofas are comfortable new leather and we have a very unique entertainment center made like a boat and a one of a kind custom built electric fireplace.
The kitchen is completely furnished with all new cookware and service ware. We have all the bar utensils and glassware you will need, but remember BYOB. There are beautiful sunsets to be seen from dining the room window.
Barview Jetty Park is across the street and from there you can walk on the beach all the way to Nehalem Bay (8 miles). From the deck you can see the historic Bayocean Spit that separates Tillamook Bay from the Pacific, it offers 4.5 miles of hiking trails along the bay and you can walk back along the ocean.
The Port of Garabaldi is 1.5 miles and offers charter deep sea fishing, a boat ramp & moorage and there is a public pier from which you can fish or catch crab.
If you like to kayak the Tillamook County Water Trail received recognition this summer as a National Recreation Trail. This non-motorized waterway system offers 250 navigable miles of paddling for every skill from novice to advanced whitewater.
We are 15 min. from the Tillamook Cheese Factory which offers free tours, cheese samples and yummy cones. Just down the road is the Blue Heron French Cheese Company specializing in Brie, they also have free jellies, sauces & syrup to sample, and a wine tasting room with samples of Oregon wines. The Tillamook Air Museum is housed in a WW II blimp hangar which is the largest wooden structure in the world and contains one of the country's top private World War II aircraft collections.
Whether you want to be entertained or entertain yourself you will find the opportunity.
We are a retired tavern owner and a retired master carpenter. We have spent the last year remodeling this property and have had fun doing it. We are very happy with the results and think you will be as well.
Barbara , Bill & Candice purchased this house in 2006
I had grown kohlrabi in my garden and was bringing some to a German friend. I had not been to his house before. When I reached the top of the steps and saw the wonderful view of Barview Jetty, the boat traffic in & out of Tillamook Bay and the ocean crashing off of the jetty I fell in love with the place. A few years later I was able to buy this home from him.
I enjoy the quiet and privacy of the place. It is next door to fishing, crabbing, kayaking and the miles of sandy ocean beaches. The central location makes day trips to North to Astoria or South to Pacific city very convenient.
I like the fact that everything in the home is new, and of course the big deck and outstanding views and sunsets.
The property is very well kept, with everything you need!! Perfect for a couples getaway spot. We just pent five nights here for our anniversary and it was great. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with. And you can tell they care about their property! Very cozy and inviting. Thanks guys and we look forward to staying again

Crows nest lived up to our expectations; great location to visit northern Oregon highlights, house was very clean with all necessities for meal preparations, with a wonderful view of the bay. About a block from the bay and Barview campground. A short walk through the campground and you are on the beach, where you can hike all the way to Rockaway beach. Some of the fun things we did: Biking in Banks, Or on the Banks to Vernonia bike trail about 22 miles one way, Kayaking at the Wheeler Marina in Wheeler (about 20 minutes north), Tillamook cheese factory tour also Tillamook Air museum; clamming on 12th street in Garabaldi, great location to view all northern Oregon attractions.
We didn't find any good or outstanding restaurants in Garabaldi, Pirates cove has great views, but we found the food to be average.
We give it 4.75 stars out of 5
Crow's Nest is lovely and spotlessly clean. Everything you need to eat meals in is provided. Good location to explore the Oregon coast. Beautiful view from the front porch. Thank you for your speedy deposit return, much appreciated!
The Crows Nest is a clean, comfortable home with a great view of the jetty. The owners were easy to work with, and everything is as advertised. We stayed two nights in early June.
We spent most of our time on the beaches to the north. They are a short drive away. The Crows Nest made a good base camp for us.
We had an amazing time on the OR coast, your place was absolutely
wonderful to stay at!!! Thank you very much and we will definitely recommend it to
our friends and family. Thanks again!
The Crows Nest is a perfect location for those who want to avoid the T-shirt and taffy crowds. The beach is close enough to walk and the bay provides interesting activities. The house is a wonderful retreat for two, spacious and well appointed with quality linens, pots and dishware. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable week and hope to return.
The owners are very attentive to anything one might need for a comfortable stay.
Jetty Fishing, Crabbing, Clamming, Deep Sea Charters, Storm Watching, next to Barview park, miles of beach and hiking trails.
